The Most "Underrated" Cathe Videos?

tneah

Cathlete
Hey all,

I just got through with Cathe's Legs and Glutes. Its been ages since I have done this workout, and was surprised I do not do it more often, it really works all those spots! Plus Cathe is fun and so happy in this workout, it keeps me going.

So I am putting this as my #1 most underrated Cathe workout.

The others would be, Imax the original-good grief its tough, but easy for me to follow. And High Step Challenge. Its tough and I hate doing it, but it is effective!!

What about you guys?

RE: The Most

I agree w/ you on LG - Cathe seems so happy. I dusted off MIC last night, and holy smokes that's tough!!! I was sweating away. Thought I wasn't going to make it, but I did. The Hi/Lo is tough, never been so happy to see a step in my life :) Wonderful cardio w/o, and not talked about too much

>Ooohh, what in the world is SS and PP???:7

Supersets and push pull...a DVD that is part of the Body Blast series. That is the only DVD that I don't own from that series....perhaps I should!!

RE: The Most

tneah, I agree with you. I almost always grab B&G and GS for Legs. I did the xtreme premix on L&G the other day and my legs were shaking the rest of the day!!
With that being said, I have to add PLB---One I don't do too much b/c of all the barbell changes, but my hams feel it for days!!

RE: The Most

HSTA. It's a fantastic circuit with unique moves. I come back to it time and time again.

RE: The Most

This one is easy for me to answer. I've been with Cathe for ablahem *cough cough* years and of all her workouts, the one DVD that falls into the underrated category is....drumroll.... Push Pull/Supersets.

This DVD probably doesn't get used to it's potential. I'm so happy that Cathe is finally going to use the PP format again in her new series. I can think of a couple of Cathe's workouts that aren't as popular as most of Cathe's collectiion, but this one holds the underrated title.

;-) That's the truth and I'm stickin' to it,

RE: The Most

I just did Supersets the other day and really enjoyed it. I love the Body Blast series and I'm surprised I haven'y done it sooner. I also did Muscle Endurance the other day. Did that kick my butt!!!!

RE: The Most

I'll have to agree with the others and also say PP/SS. I don't do these often enough. I really like the music in these and they're short but do the job.

RE: The Most

I also love SS/PP, they seem easier than some of the more hardcore weight workouts but they're fun and interesting and effective.

RE: The Most

Without a doubt Supersets/Push Pull...you can go pretty heavy with PP since Cathe doesn't do too many reps/sets per exercise and, my goodness, is there a muscle group she doesn't hit??? She even hits the little muscles on the front of the SHINS!!!

Also PP is nice and short...moves along pretty quickly, right from one body part to another. I haul this one out whenever I want a good, tough sweat fest and strength workout and also am short on time. I'm guaranteed a good hard session.

RE: The Most

My vote is for Low Impact Step.....
Its a LowMax Jr IMO and I must say that she breaks down the step work so nicely if you are new to Ctahe. Its a workout that I think all Cathe newbies should get - If you are already fit you can add risers and really go for it on blasts but can learn Cathe Cues/Steps... If you are brand new to exercising it is already low impact. I pull this one out quite a bit on my recovery weeks.
When I started with Cathe I found basic step to be so below my current fitness level- there was really no other advise given for new to Cathe so I ended up starting off with some of her toughest choreography- I wasnt getting much out of the w/o's because I'm choreography challenged! I was a year into Cathe before I bought LIS and must say I had a good thump for myself. Life would have been so much easier if I had this one as my first Cathe! :D

RE: The Most

Similar to Traci's post about Low Impact Step, I would say Body Fusion. My step came with Basic Step/C&W, so I didn't do Body Fusion until my sister lent it to me not that long ago. I wish I'd had it a year and a half ago when I was trying to make the move from the intermediate to the advanced videos. I still do it now from time to time and I enjoy it...using heavier weights I feel like I get a good workout with it.

RE: The Most

I agree, Low Impact Step still gets my heart rate soaring and body fusion is fantastic(gotta love that last step combo;-))! They are both under rated!

RE: The Most

I think PS Legs and Abs is a great workout. I just pulled that out after over a year. What a solid overall great workout. She hits everything so thoroughly.

I think I burned myself out on it when it first came out, but now when I need to just get a good basic, hit your legs hard, workout I find myself grabbing for it lately.

RE: The Most

Good grief, can I add "Leaner Legs?"

I just completed this beast of a workout and quite frankly wondered how I made it through???

Its tough, no rest, no nothing but hard, hard work. Then you do abs which I love! Note to self: Add this gem into my workouts more often!:)

RE: The Most

I haven't done SS/PP in the longest time. Thanks - I will do that one tonight!! And yes, I agree it's underrated. They're quick, efficient and fun, so.....
