The Doctors were a Gazillion% WRONG! NO cancer!

I tell you what, no one was more surprised or pleased than me. The ER doc said the only thing that my Mom (83 yrs old) could've had was uterine cancer. The 2nd opinion Gyn didn't come out and say he agreed totally, but he gave the "this type of cancer is very treatable" speech and acted every bit as though it was, like, it's the only thing it could be. Guess what: The biopsy came back negative!

Now, my Mom still has this big ol' cyst that has to come out (that much I saw for sure on the ultrasound!) , and they're gonna do a hysterectomy anyway while they're at it (becuase the tissue that she does have can turn cancerous), but it ain't that now, and that's all that matters.

Boy, what a couple of weeks it's been. I posted when all this first came to light, so I want to thank everyone for all their responses and support. It meant a lot, and I wanted you all to know the outcome. She's still got surgery ahead of her, and they still have to do a biopsy of the cyst afterwards, but things are looking much, much better!

What great news! I'm sure it's a big relief! Good luck to her with the surgery...hope all goes well!!

How absolutely wonderful for all of you !

So nice to hear it was a "false alarm" - sorry you had to go through a couple weeks of fear but so glad it is a much better prognosis. Bet your Mom is a happy camper about now, huh? :D

OMG! That is fantastic news! YEAH!

WOW- absolutely fabulous news!! Thanks for sharing it :) I know that you are all feeling on top of the world! What an amazing blessing :)

You know, even if its someone I don't know, whenever I hear that a suspicious looking internal mass fuzz ball is benign...the world looks brighter!

That is such wonderful news!

Hope you can rest this weekend - you must be exhausted after the last couple of weeks!

GovtGirl--this is great news. I've been thinking about you through the week, wondering how things were going. I know that you still have some challenges to face with your mom getting the cyst removed, but this is really fantastic. This has got to help your mom feel better too. What a blessing.
