I tell you what, no one was more surprised or pleased than me. The ER doc said the only thing that my Mom (83 yrs old) could've had was uterine cancer. The 2nd opinion Gyn didn't come out and say he agreed totally, but he gave the "this type of cancer is very treatable" speech and acted every bit as though it was, like, it's the only thing it could be. Guess what: The biopsy came back negative!
Now, my Mom still has this big ol' cyst that has to come out (that much I saw for sure on the ultrasound!) , and they're gonna do a hysterectomy anyway while they're at it (becuase the tissue that she does have can turn cancerous), but it ain't that now, and that's all that matters.
Boy, what a couple of weeks it's been. I posted when all this first came to light, so I want to thank everyone for all their responses and support. It meant a lot, and I wanted you all to know the outcome. She's still got surgery ahead of her, and they still have to do a biopsy of the cyst afterwards, but things are looking much, much better!
