the after burn

i'm curious when do others really feel it after a w/o? that day, night, next day, days after...
i feel it during w/o and sometimes later that day/night or next day. cant ever remember any longer than that. maybe i was doing the wrong w/o haha! lately havent felt anything more than slight after affects, when i want to be walking like a duck without injury hopefully. so experimenting with using weights.
my mom says she always feels it the next day, but NOT during the w/o. found that sorta odd. she says shes had injuries pushing herself too hard, bacause of that.
so i wonder if thats common? even from running she says. i guess my knees dont go high enough. never feel a thing next day from running on its own.

Usually, I don't really feel it until 12-14 hours after the workout. If it is a workout I haven't done in a while, I might feel it immediately after. I know when that happens that I am REALLY going to feel it the next day. Many times my muscles just feel very "used", and not sore. I've had DOMS so bad in my lower body that I had a hard time sitting down or standing up for 3 or 4 days. That usually happens with a new workout or one I haven't done in a long time. Taking in enough protein usually helps when this happens.

It varies. Sometimes I feel fried right after the workout, and sometimes I don't feel a thing until the next day. The degree of DOMS varies too, from nothing to exactly what Last Tango described ---->

couldnt remember what DOMS meant. for those that dont know, its delayed on set muscle soreness. 24 hrs or more after w/o.
i guess i havent been working hard enough. in my teen yrs a d now its rare for me to have DOMS the next day. i only remember having it more than 1 day as a teen. after running practice, we did a series of drills. walking lunges did it for me. good times...good times lol.
