tattoo ???

Hey Susan you made my day. Interanly after that phone call Monday I thought I can't process this. After waiting and thinking I came to "I can't do this". My mom had IBC and is now 7 year survivor as well as my aunt and grandmother who passed but not from cancer just old age. She was 89. I can't at 34 give up my breast when I may not get cancer for another 20 years and they may have a cure by then. Thanks so much.

I will show you it when I get home in two weeks.

I really like the idea of that figuring you were speaking of - I know what it is and have seen it in necklaces, as well.
As for your yoga, what about the symbol for "Om"? It's a beautiful symbol in and of itself and has a great meaning behind. And it is, of course, connected to yoga. I've toyed with the idea of getting that myself and just haven't done it yet (I already have 4 tattoos). I want to get a "tramp stamp" on my lower spine, but just haven't decided what yet. "Om" is one of the options, or the kanji symbols for strength, courage and wisdom (things I need to remind myself of on a daily basis!)

I have a tattoo, and unfortunately, I didn't put a lot of thought into it. I got it on my honeymoon. I knew I'd wanted one for a long time, and knew I wanted it to be a dragon, but never really thought about the design. So now I've got a dragon that was just a design I picked off the wall. It's OK...but I wish I had put some thought into it.

I have been kicking around the idea of getting another one. An Indian friend gave me a great idea for a design - a representation of the Hindu goddess Durga. I just haven't gotten around to it.

I think that your own design will be great. Just take your time and think about what it is you like about a particular design.

I once had a patient who was a born-again Christian but he had a big tat of a Nazi swastika....he was a Skin Head years ago. He was very
self-conscious about it.

>choose carefully, as they will be with you forever!

That's exactly what I was going to say...sort of...haha - I was going to say "good job taking the time to think it out before you get the tattoo because I got a rose on my arm and a scorpion on my ankle years ago. They represent a time in my life that was not so pleasant so I decide to have them removed...they use a laser for this and it worked. I have about one more visit and they will be gone - but it's taken at least 10 visits at $100 a visit! MUCH more expensive than having the darn things put on ($80 total). AND it's seriously more painful...(whimper)...having them removed than having them put on.

So good for you thinking it through - I wish I had! I could have saved myself lots of money and pain! :7

You could overlay your Kanji characters over the yin & yang symbol. you'd have to play with the colors to get it right.

Does the shop you're going to have a graphic imaging computer?

I thought of the yin yang symbol before but after researching it, it has a Chinease notation as oppose to a Japanease context. So with the symbol and the yin and yang I don't think they match but it was a good idea. One I gave some thought to before.

I also was going to get a cherry blossom but in Japanease culture it means a more dark conotation as oppose to the Chinease meaning rebirth and new.

I'm trying to stick with a Japanease theme with work and symbol being my dh and his family are Japanese making my children that as well.
