Supersets/Push-Pull

Is this worth the two disc price? Seems that the one that is only 45 minutes may not be worth buying the disc for. What do you think?

Pros and cons:
Pros:
In addition to the two, 45-minute workouts, there are many premixes that work very well.

The 45-minute workouts are actually very efficient, because they eliminate some of the rest periods in other workouts by using the push/pull or circuit set-up.

Many people find SS/PP to be less intense than Cathe's other weight workouts. This is good for a lighter day.

Some of the premixes are more intense (like the upper body only, repeating the circuit 2 or 3 times).

The stability ball is used quite a bit in these, which adds a different type of challenge to the muscles and works the core.

Cons:
Many people find SS/PP to be less intense than Cathe's other weight workouts (Yes, I'm repeating myself!). So, if you're looking for "Cathe intensity," it's not here so much.

The stability ball is used quite a bit, so if you don't like it, or don't have one, it might not be a good idea to get these workouts.

I like S/S and P/P, and am glad to have them in my collection.

I like it. I like the stability ball work in Supersets.

If you feel like a total body workout and you want a Cathe workout but you want something challenging but harder than her beginner workouts, but less intense than the Intensity Series or the other series, get this one.

The music is good on this one too.

I have used the mix and match menu of both the workouts and designed my own workout using exercises from both workouts.

Get it. It's a Cathe workout and you know you want it. Ask for it for a holiday gift.:)

I'm actually doing push/pull this week and supersets next week...Will have to say, I do love them...Totally agree they aren't some of the most challenging ones she's got out, but weights can always be bumped up, along with reps/sets...I'm working this in 3 times this week, light on Sunday (one round), heavy today (2 complete rounds) and light again on Friday (one round)...Cardio on alternate days...Next week will be similar with supersets...Get it!!

If you like hard weight workouts I would not get supersets/push pull. If instead you like to tack on weights after going for a run or bike ride then this is a great DVD to get. I enjoy doing it after a bike ride (pre-exhaust my leg muscles) and then I find it works well. If I do it by itself, I don't even feel like I'm working out...even when I do each muscle set at the maximum weight I'm capable of.

I like 'em, and I think they are worth it.

I did Supersets for the first time in months the other day; I have been doing the Pyramids, Muscle Max, and Muscle Endurance fairly frequently along with some others in there. I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised at how sore I got after Supersets...it just seemed to work the muscles differently, and it intermixes weight work with non-weighted work. It wouldn't be the "mainstay" of your program, but I think they are great in addition to whatever you are using now.

I find Push/Pull to be a tough weight workout. I do the lower 2 or 3x's premix on one day and the upper 2 or 3x's premix later in the week. I really feel it. Because Cathe only does one set in the 'as produced' version, she goes a bit heavier. The incorporation of the stability ball really adds to the intensity, in my opinion.

Supersets isn't as intense, but, again, I use the upper body 2 sets premix one day and the lower body blast premix the next. I've found this workout is great for breaking plateaus. I also often do one of the premixes that does either group a or group b 2x's.

Also, you can work off the main menu and mix & match menus, combining both workouts for a great workout. I do this a lot as well.

Thank you all, I don't really care for less intense workouts but like stated, I can always add weight. I love the premixes on her other DVD and I like the fact that it would cut out some rest periods. Hmmm and Xmas is only 30 days away!
