Suggestion for Wall Squats

NY25

Cathlete
I know this has been mentioned as challenging for many, and I figured something out this past weekend. If you put your step below you, you can put the weights down on the step and do the pick up/put down that Cathe does with these. Then, as you get better, drop the height of the step incrementally, until you get to your furthest point. The benefit here, over yoga blocks, is the step is more stable and broad, so you don't have to worry about missing or having the weight fall off, etc.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi- I was unable to do the wall squats and substituted another squat but I like your suggestion and will use that when the exercise presents again.

Thanks! Nita

Thanks for a great suggestion. I have been eyeing the phone books and thinking about buying some yoga blocks but you solved the dilemma.

Great idea! I've been struggling with those. I'm going to try the step and hopefully work up to no step SOME DAY..... :)

ITA about the step..I used Yoga Blocks, books etc.... The Step is by far the safest way to keep the weights stable-
somethings got to be stable because I sure aint!;)

Great sugggestion! I will have that a try on my next STS rotation...or when she does the wall squats again.

I did this one when I was in MC1. I have 2 10 lb kettlebells. I used those instead of dumb bells. The handles come up higher, so it made it a lot easier for me to pick them up. Just another suggestion that may help ;)
