STS New Years Challengers...Week of April 3rd!

Hi Everyone!

Today was Disc 37, which is week 1 of squat rack legs. I'm feeling the DOMS in my chest from Monday's workout. Tomorrow, I am doing MMA Fusion.

I'm off to take DD to choir. I hope everyone has a great day.

Hey all! Just finished MMA Boxing. Got a bit more packing to do!!!!! I am so excited. It was so cold and icky out today. I here it is 90 in FLorida!!

I am leaving tomorrow right after work, so this will be good bye for a few days. I am taking my laptop, but don't know when I will have Internet so. . .

Hey ladies! Finished disc 30, and Stretch Max (no equipment) yesterday, today will be 4DS LIS and some abs.

LaDonna - I wish I had purchased Squat Rack legs. I love that type of leg workout. Since the sale ends tomorrow, I'm contemplating purchasing it...
 
Hello Everyone.

This morning's work out was 2 back to back cardios from Barry's Bootcamp. I chose Arms and Abs cardio followed by the cardio from Shoulders and Back. WHAT A WORK OUT! :eek::eek::eek: I finished it off with the standing oblique section from Shoulders and Back holding a light DB. :D

I went out to dinner with a group of friends last night. Walked in the door at home about 75 minutes past my bed time and by the time I was actually going to sleep it was 45 mins later still!!! Needless to say, I am tired today. :( Had a good time though so it's worth it every once in a while. :)

LaDonna:: So how did you like squat rack legs?

new to STS: can I start here?

I am going to be getting my STS for my birthday this month. I would really like to start a "check ins and challenges" for when I start doing this. However, I don't want to barge in where I don't belong.... Could I start here when I get it...or would there be a better "ck in and chall" elsewhere on the forum?

Thanks Fit mommy, I look forward to getting the dvd's. Today I did High Reps. (It is my current favorite) and then I walked my maltese for a half hour.

I think it will be nice to have a schedule with STS. Right now I just try to do a good weight workout every other day and then cardio in between. Lately, I have only been doing Cathe. I tried Supreme 90 (for a week), (because it was cheap), (I am going to sell it on Ebay now) but I missed Cathe and just went back to her workouts.

Now I have finally made the plunge to STS...very excited!
 
Good Morning Ladies.

Got D16 banged out for the 2nd time this morning. Have 17 and 18 to do over the weekend and then on to my recovery week which marks the halfway point for M2 already! :D

tralaiven:: High Reps is a great work out! Have you done STS TB yet? Love that one even more personally! :) So you didn't care for S90? I have it but have only been able to try the cardios and core work outs b/c of my STS rotation. I am eager to give the full rotation a shot at some point after I complete STS. I have a friend who is also a Cathelete who is probably about 1/2 way thru an S90 rotation and she is loving it and getting great results!

Tralavian - Of course, you can join! Welcome!!! I love STS. I hope you will enjoy it too.

Kikster - Get it. You won't be disappointed.

FitMommy - I really like the workout. It is set up like the upper body workouts for this Mesocycle. The rest time between sets is 2-1/2 minutes. There are four exercises and four sets of each. The exercises only use a barbell. You do squats, deadlifts, front squats, and static lunges.

Better get back to it. Have a great weekend everyone! DD has her dance pictures tomorrow. Yea! I can't wait.

Thanks for the description of Squat Rack Legs, La Donna. Sounds like something I would enjoy too. :)

So I decided to join WW online and did so this afternoon. I only want to lose 5 or 6 pounds I think but they are STUBBORN pounds and I am not doing a very good job of it on my own. :rolleyes: I need help! :eek: In addition, my goal weight is a weight I got down to while doing my one and only FULL round of Insanity when I first got it but once the rotation was over my weight slowly creeped back up. If I can lose the weight with WW then it will also help me to MAINTAIN it which is awesome! I'll keep you updated on my progress! Today was day 1 and I weigh in every Friday! :D

tralaiven - Welcome! :D I'm sure you'll love STS, it's such an awesome program. I will say that I do love High Reps, too, it's a good one to get you ready for that first Meso (that and STS TB, as Wendy said, which is great too!) BTW, what color is your Maltese? I have a white Havanese (slightly shorter haired "cousin" of Maltese) and although she's a live wire sometimes :rolleyes: I love her to death. :)

Wendy - Good luck on WW! The last five are always stubborn, aren't they? That's were I am right now. I just started using myfitnesspal.com last month, and it is really helping me to look at what I'm eating realistically. I love that it has the iPhone App too, because I can log my meals right after eating them. I've lost 2 lbs, so far so good (5 more to go, lol)! Even my hubby downloaded the App to his Blackberry and started logging his meals last week. I can't believe he's actually sticking to it, lol. I think the App makes it easier than getting on the computer all the time for him. I use both. Keep us posted, I'm interested to know your results.

LaDonna - IDK, your encouragement may just push me over the edge! :eek: (AS IF I haven't spent enough $$ during this sale :rolleyes: ....geez) On the other hand... I guess I can wait a little while, since after double checking, I noticed that the Squat Rack only DVDs aren't a part of the sale. So that at least takes the rush factor out of it, lol. But, I will probably purchase it before doing STS again (probably after summer). How's the corn planting, did ya start yet? We plant it every year, but have yet to get a decent crop. What your secret? :eek: Maybe we just don't have enough nitrogen? I've added manure from our chickens (supposed to be high in nitrogen), extra compost, tried planting beans before it, I dunno. :confused: I LOVE fresh corn though, and would love to have a good crop one day. Do your sell you corn too?

hello again!

Well, I just got the e-mail that my STS order is being shipped! I also order 4 DS, the new Lower body blast and Intensity!!! It will probably get here right on my birthday. My husband is the best for letting me get these!

I am tired today and haven't done my workout yet, but I think I am going to do Low Impact circuit with just light weight today, since I did heavier weights yesterday with Hi Reps.

Wendy, FitMommy,- yes I have STS tb, it is good, but not my current favorite right now. Concerning S90, I really have to like the delivery of the workout instructor. Also I did not like the production set, and it just didn't feel organized to me. That said, I don't think it's "bad", just not for me.

JonStephmom: thanks for the welcome!

I can't remember who asked my about my maltese, but she (Lucy)is white and about 7 pounds. I have a special rug that she lays on and watches me while I workout. She loves it when I stretch at the end, because I am usually on the floor and we play fetch while I stretch. As soon as I can figure out how ...I will post her pic on my Avatar.

Ok I am going to get motivated and go do low impact circuit!

Fit mommy: I am jealous and glad for you that you already did your workout today!!!!

Today I have decided to pull out my STS tb since fit mommy asked me about it and that is what I will do this afternoon. This morning I just didn't get around to doing it because my 2 girls had friends over last nite and my maltese woke me up in the middle of the night with an upset tummy and the gross accompanying symptoms :eek:

We are off in a bit to take all the girls to a park and picnic.
Tomorrow is a rest day....so I'll check in again on Monday.

Wow, did I pass out hard for about 30 mins this afternoon! I had a bit of trouble sleeping from 3-5am this morning and then was out of bed at 6:30 so I was tired to begin with. STS D17 kicked my azz as usual so when I was done with food shopping I laid down for a nap and ZONKED! Drinking coffee now to get some energy back and yes, I am logging the creamer into WW! ;)

Kiki:: I have my fitnesspal on my touch. I dowloaded it when I first got it. I am not currently using it but it's a nice site. I've also used Fit Day and Spark People to log my eats in the past. I am really liking WW so far. If I am successful at losing the weight I want to lose then I will pledge my eternal undying LOVE to it because nothing else has worked!:confused:

tralaiven:: You must come back and let us know how you like STS TB! When those work outs were first released I really didn't think I would fall in love with STS TB because I had already tried my hand at the STS program and failed miserably so figured the TB work out would not be for me. Boy was I wrong. It's awesome IMO. Your beefs with S90 are similar to a lot of others complaints not only about that series but other work outs. Cathe really is hard to match in so many ways and not everyone can see past the shortfalls of other instructors and that's ok. To each his own. I am what is known as a VIDIOT so there's not much I can't deal with as long as I like the work out itself. :p
 
I can't seem to find posting time... but then again all I've done this week is Barre workouts and walking/running. I'm going to give running a try. I just enjoy being outside when the weather is nice & want to enjoy it before the heat hits. I'll try STS this week... think my back is ready. My chiro seems ok with me working out since she was suggesting I try CrossFit :) Apparently, we have a few CrossFit trainers in my li'l town. :confused::)

Oh, we found 3 of the 4 kittens. They were in our garage... if you saw our garage you'd understand how this could happen, lol.

I'll try to catch up later. Got sick kids and a teething baby. TTFN!
