STS New Years Challengers...Week of April 17th

Hi Everyone!

Today was Disc 30 for me. Tomorrow, I'm going to do HIIT Double Wave Pyramid and Stability Ball Abs.

Katie - Welcome! Congratulations on completing your first workout in the STS program. You are on a fun and rewarding ride. You are not too young. In many ways, I envy youth (would like a do-over with some of the choices I've made in life now that I'm older and "smarter"), but I am also glad to have a few years of experience behind me too (I'm 42). I know it's confusing.

FitMommy - I'm sorry I misled you. I still have two more weeks to go in this rotation and then I will do another.

Autumn - If your friend liked P90X, I would highly recommend STS. I've done P90X, and I much prefer STS. I love the fact that you figure out what your 1RM is and how the workouts progress so that every workout is different and you are constantly lifting heavier. All the equipment is the downside for someone new to Cathe, but I suppose like most of us, we accumulate it over time.

Sherry - Yep, I love STS. I try to do two rotations a year. This is actually my 5th time around. I just wish i could be more disciplined in my eating! I hope your daughter is continuing to do better.

Kikster - No, I'm not a typical farmer's wife. I used to be a CPA, but gave it up when I had my DD. I really wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool her. I feel like I missed a lot when DS was a baby through his preschool years, especially during tax season.

Off to hard boil Easter eggs!

Have a good weekend, everyone, and a Happy Easter!

Hey all!!! I forgot to ask how to get that STS thingamajig at the bottom of your postings to show how far you are in STS???? HELP please:)

JonStephMom: I homeschooled my two oldest through High School. I just got tired with my two youngest, so they are in private school which only goes to 8th grade, so I am seriously considering homeschool for High School for them.

STS ticker

Tracy: go to the workout manager and click on "Cathe Fun" ;) your ticker's are there. Also, you're in "Cathlete homeschool moms" company here, lol. Autumn and I both HS as well. My boy will be 14 in June, so we're in it for the long haul now :). How cool to have a homeschool vet in our midst! :D

Ladonna: Did ya get all the eggs boiled? Are you dyeing them too (be sure to count it as "school", lol)? Good job on the workout today, we're in the home stretch!

Wendy: You know I meant "Nazi" in the nicest way possible, right? ;) LOL My former doughboy middle will always be in debted to your...um..."coersion" :D Anyway, WAY TO GO ON THE 3# LOSS!!! Woot! Woot! Man, you'll be knocking down the other 2 before my next plank hold......Well....ok, so maybe that's not such a good analogy, cuz let's be honest, we have NO idea when that'll be, rofl!

Sherry: Still keeping you and DD in prayer, hope that she continues to heal, and that you can find a way to de-stress from it all. As for STS, I think Katie's idea was a good one about maybe repeating the last couple weeks of M2. Although, I will dare to say that you may not be as bad off as you think. I thought the same thing when I first started this second round of STS, because I kinda took it easy in between rotations, and I even repeated a lot of the same weights during M1 and M2 this time, cuz I didn't think I could handle heavier due to my slacking. So when M3 came around (after that first little bout w/my back when I was scared to lift) I decided to actually print a workout card that showed what I should be doing (up til that point I'd just been working off the workout cards from last time - yeah I know, lazy cheater style :p) and took the plunge, and you know what? I could do it! It was a major jump from what I was lifting in M2, but I could SO handle it. Sooooo, you may not be as weak as you think, but that being said, the time factor could still become an issue if you can't block out that chunk of time for weights right now....

Autumn: Did you decide which DVD to recommend to your friend yet?

Kristin: Are you out there, or still enjoying your vacation??? How'd that new bikini work out for ya?

Thanks so much kikster. So cool that there are homeschooling moms here...what a wonderful surprise.

Just got back from Good Friday service and am perusing my STS literature.

I am trying to stay calm, but I am freaking a little seeing all the 1RM things I am going to have to figure. yikes!!

I am just going to breathe deeply and dive in tomorrow to figure out what in the world it is for disk one only, which I will start on Monday. Still excited!

blessings to you all

Sorry ladies, no time for personals but I wanted to check in quickly to say hi and to report today's work out...

Squeeze Stronger in full for the first time!!!
Step and Intervals (first 25 minutes-my legs could do no more after that!:p)

My entire body is still feeling Squeeze Stronger. It was KILLER! Anyone here have it? Do it? Like it? I think it's an awesome work out if you like that kind of thing. I will be going full tilt endurance at some point after I finish STS and this work out will be at the top of my list to do along with Booty Barre! :D

Well, gotta move it. Leaving to head out to dinner in 45 minutes. I was planning on cooking a healthy meal but DH said he wanted to take me out tonight since DS is staying with my MIL this weekend (Yes, we will be getting together with them tmrw for Easter. :) ). How could I refuse? ;) WW may not like it but I was skimpy with my DP's today so far and have 8 AP's to use as well so hopefully I'll be okay!

BBL or in the morning!:)

Hi all!

Think I might put Meso 3 on the back burner and jump into some circuits. Running for sure since I signed up for a 1/2 marathon in Oct. I think it's been so many weeks since I finished Meso 2, that I should go back and do that one again. but taking some time to be sure I prioritize running.

Met a couple of local Cathletes (JT and brickhouse) at IKEA yesterday. Was fun shopping and talking Cathe. And all that STS weight work did help me easily lift boxes. :D

Today was brunch at my aunt & uncle's. DD is doing better overall, but there are better moments and some not better, so after brunch we just came back home and chilled. Been giving her more attention lately, and not wanting to hide out in the basement for an hour. Hence the waiting for more STS.

I'll stop by form time to time to check on all of you, and maybe join up again, but right now need a few changes to accommodate DD, and make sure that DS is still getting the attention (that he doesn't want;)).

Good luck! Enjoy the weights!
