Hello ladies!
Another day off where I hardly had any time to post
. I did HC Volume 2 today and I'm still loving it!
I can actually do the whole workout now without modifying and pausing.
Oh lord, I started this post an hour ago and got dragged away to deal with Lydia. Ugh. It's been a rough day with having the kids home
. Granted, Lydia is probably out of sorts because we had her well child check today and she had a few shots (tetanus being one of them). She's had ibuprofen and tylenol earlier in the day but she's is being an absolute monster right now! Early bedtime tonight!!!
Anyway, let's see my workouts...after HC today I felt pretty good so I did a short 20 minute kettlebell workout (RKS #1) which is basically just swings (30 seconds swings, 45 seconds rest). I change it up a little by varying the type of swing (double hand, single arm switch, overhead, suitcase) and during a few of the intervals I even did some snatches. I've looked at that Angie Miller workout lots of times on Collage, actually Betty! I've had it in my wish list on Collage forever but have never pulled the trigger. The reviews are pretty mixed so I've always stayed on the fence. I didn't realize you liked kettlebells, too! Cool!
High Reps is a good workout, Carolyn. There's a few things I don't like about it though. I'm not crazy about the use of the barbell in the warm up so I use dumbells instead. In fact, I realized after doing STS that I prefer to just use dumbells for most of my upper body work unless it's deadlifts or back rows. I also avoid upright rows totally anymore since I've read in several places that that is a pretty risky move for the shoulders. Whenever it comes up in a workout I either skip it or do shoulder presses or lateral raises. I don't want to risk a frozen shoulder joint!
The other thing is the workout is pretty long (65 minutes). I need to try the lower body only premix...I bet that is pretty awesome. Love the disc work!
Marie- good luck with your appointment and class tomorrow!
Jean- good luck at your sister's! Travel Fit is a great low key workout. It isn't killer at all, but a nice toning/low impact workout. I do sweat some when I do it but I'm not gasping for air or anything.
There are times when you absolutely need a workout like that! I always feel good after, too.
Meredith- great score on the 1-2 lb weights. They'll come in handy. Good luck with your workout tomorrow!
Night ladies!
