STS first time!

Good Morning!

This morning I did Hiit 30/30 and weights and plates abs. I haven't done that in a while and it felt good. I am loosely following Cathe's April rotation because I really want to do Burn Sets regularly and see if I can up my weights.

Missy, congrats on getting those extra workouts in!

Jean, your new house sounds exciting, when do you plan to actually move?

I managed to get out for a short walk at lunch yesterday, but today we are expecting heavy rains - blech! And it is cold out too.

I too felt burned out on Cathe after finishing Xtrain, so doing UY was perfect and I started missing her again.

Hi Girls!

Today was ride. I did 14 miles. I didn't push it too hard today but still got a good workout.

Missy, you will lose the extra inches in no time. Good job on your cardio this morning.

Mary, good job on Hiit first thing in the morning. It will be chilly her today too. I need to try to get some walks in at lunch.

Betty. What's on tap today? Are still still in a cathe funk?

Carolyn, STS sounds like a good plan. In all that I read weight training is the way to go. Less cardio but more intense cardio, Hiit or interval training. Of course I'm a big fan of Leah's workouts and body weight training. I've never seen the definition I have now with just weights. Some about those planks that really target the areas weight can't reach.
 
Good morning, gals. I'm eating my loaded oatmeal right now. Outside, it is dark with misty showers. Sooo sleepy.:confused:

Everyone, don't worry about weight gain. We have proven and shown we're a dedicated bunch! Just enjoy life and your desserts:D.

Mary, I've been so lazy that I hardly venture out for a walk, even in this beautiful season!:confused: Nice job getting some fresh air during work. So much more productive afterward.

Colleen, 14 miles is a lot!:) High five.
I'm going to slowly veer away from the Cathe traditional heavy lifting. I like the idea of getting lean definition from UY and BB, and will continue with lighter weights (I'm a lightweight anyway;)).

Not much going on. Just errands. Probably some light spin in the evening. Still in a Cathe funk, but will pull out one of hers tomorrow.

Well, I did 10 miles on the bike. Get this: in the afternoon. While watching a movie. Best case scenario.;)
 
Hello....just finished my workout....now icing the knee!

Betty...way to go on the spin bike!!!

Tonight....we had scrambled eggs toast and bacon for dinner....it was yummy!

Got to prepare lunchs for tomorrow!

Omg....it feels so good to be back on the 2 hrs of workouts a day! I am in heaven....its like my mental stress reliver....i just am on my exercise high! Love it!
 
CSS plus the step bonus for me this morning. B watched me in his exersaucer and ended up falling asleep. It was so cute! I'll post a pic.

Lunch date with my dad and stepmom.

Then to MOA...aka....Mall of America...to walk 4 laps...takes about an hour.

B has been doing better with the yams. Tomorrow we are going to try squash. He has his 6 month appt at 2:30. I'm hoping some of the wet goes away outside so we can walk there and then to the grocery store. LOVE walking! I always walk to Target when it's nice out....takes about 30 minutes. Love my vitamin D ;)

I ended up working a double yesterday. I didn't really want to of course but they have been offering bonuses for picking up extra shifts and with the overtime it was worth it. I almost said no though cuz I really hate being away from B that long. It was a 16.5 hr shift. T was off so I had him bring B in so at least I got to spend my break with him but I really do hate being away from him. I just miss him so much I almost want to cry.

Carolyn- Your vacation sounds lovely :) My mouth is watering just reading what you ate. Yum! I always see great results with STS. Still roll my eyes thinking that I never did complete Meso 3.

Missy- Glad you're getting in your extra workouts. That darn knee though...ugh! I'm with you on LIS.....some of my faves :) And to think I almost didn't buy it cuz it was low impact and how could that be hard. How I was mistaken :) Running in the dirt is a good idea. When I used to be a runner I would always run on the side of the black top path around the lake. Less impact! Hmmmm speaking of maybe I should take it up away. Running with the stroller. I feel like I had my best body when I was a runner. Really slims my legs.

Betty- Great workout! And all while watching a movie is even better! We did get snow last night. Yuck! It was the wet heavy stuff. The temp was pretty nice today. 40's or so. Just wet!

Colleen- 14 miles is great! Nice job! I leave for CO on May 10 and come home on the 15th. I was going to go for a week but Tony didn't want to be away from B that long. I don't blame him. I wouldn't allow even an overnight away from him.

Mary- Nice job on HiiT. Gotta love lunch break walks. I feel so great when I go back to work after that.

Jean- July will be here before you know it. Can't wait til you get to move in :)
 
Carolyn....enjoy your last day.....i am not a beach person....i hate sand between my toes....lol...i love the beachs beauty....but when it comes to sand....yuck! It gets everywhere!

Thanks for the info on running.....i havent attempted to run much lately due to knee....so on treadmill i walk at a fast pace and occasionally run for a minute at a time....alternating.....i jave been using my knee wrap/brace while on treadmill and then icing post workout...seems to help...not as sore. We will se how it goes.

Up and off to work....happy wednesday!

Betty, good job spinning while watching a movie. Sometime when I work from home I will hop on the spin bike or rebounder while I am on a conference call. What do you put in your loaded oatmeal?

Missy, glad you are nursing the knee. What workout did do last night?

Today was ballet body for me. I'm hoping to maybe get some yin yoga on later. I need to stretch out my muscles.

First thing.....Marie---Little B is just too precious...I just want to squueze him and give him kisses....he is precious!!!! :D I saw those pics on FB....and I was like I think he is the cutest kid ever!

Okay.....I am going to just throw this info out there...and you can research it..or ignore it....but I am sortof on a Cathe break...I am doing a Cathe workout once a week lately....I am doing some really hardcore workouts....and I just love them. They are on youtube for free...she uploads one workout a week. She also has a cardio dvd series and a yoga dvd. Her name is Zuzanna Light....also called Zuzka....she is foreign...but her workouts are killer....I just love her...her workouts range from 10-40 minutes.....but when you are done...you are bright red from sucking so much air and drenched in sweat! She normally works out in a sports bra and short shorts....which does not bother me...

Last night I did 45 minutes on the treadmill and a Zuzanna workout on youtube. Then I did a ab routine I got in my Fitness RX magazine this month. It kicked butt...my abs were screaming!

This morning I did 40 minutes of treadmill speed walking and a short 12 minute zuzanna workout!

Also, did I tell you Tim bought me a tablet last weekend...now instead of doing these workouts off the laptop...I can hook my tablet up to tv in my gym...now I can see these workouts on my flat screen...makes it so much better!!! :eek:

Colleen---you sound like me...sometimes if someone calls me at home....I will jump on the elliptical while talking....LMAO....tim always says...your crazy! hehehe

I made burittos sunday for a few of my lunchs this week...so today is a buritto day...Yum Yum! I have been really good on exercise and nutrition for 3 days now...and I feel like myself again....I am not sluggish, tired, or anything...I feel great! I think my body does best on a healthy diet and crazy exercise routine! :eek:

BTW...my goal is to be as fit as possible by June 1st.... thats when the fitness competition is... it is also at panama city beach..fun fun! Then June 2nd...we are meeting some friends of ours that moved south half way for lunch...gotta be the hot wife! :p

Also I am crazy...we are renting a car so I dont put the unwanted miles on my new car, and I dont want to get sand in my car! LOL I booked our car last week...$50.00 for entire weekend...not bad! I can run the crap out of a new car....hehehe:cool:

Missy, I have heard of her. She also has a new yoga DVD out. I've never tried any of her workouts. It's good to change things up! Good for you for setting goals. I was really bad last week with my eating and this week I am really focusing on clean eating. I feel better as well.

Just got back from a walk. Wow, the sun is warm! Yesterday, raw and 40s, today warm and 60s.
I should say that I did TTM Extreme. 500 cals, baby!;)

Colleen, my oatmeal has (ready for this?): pumpkin seeds, pecans (or almond slivers), chia, coconut oil, dried mulberries, goji berries, cacao nibs, cinnamon, black sesame seeds. Today I even squirted a bit of vanilla in it.

Marie, that was so precious that B fell asleep. Melts your heart when you see that! He is just a doll!
That's great that you would walk to Target. I hate having to walk with a lot of heavy car traffic. Enjoy MOA. That sounds like a great walk.

Missy, I'll check out the yoga version of Zuzka. Good for you for trying something new. Shock your body!

Carolyn, the sand would drive me nuts too. You just have to tolerate it just a tiny bit longer. And it's somebody else's house!:D Even better.
Last year in Italy, the apartment bathroom had absolutely NO hooks! Can you imagine? 7 people's things, no place to hang anything; facecloths, bath towels, clothes to change out of and into, nothing. It was SO infuriatingly maddening!:mad: No soap dish. Only a narrow glass shelf ledge below the length of the mirror. Where things kept rolling off.:mad: Even the sink hardly had any space to put anything.:mad:

Anyone else on the verge of adding juicing to your life?
Marie, does T make green smoothies for you? That would be awesome!
 
Good evening.....i did 30 minutes on elliptical and a zuzka workout...i was drenched! Oh...it feels awesome to be back strong. Icing knee now!

Betty...i have thought about the juicing...but afraid i would not like it!

It was warm today...loving it!

Does anyone watch ncis? If so.....i freaked last night....cant wait till next tuesday to see what happens....they left us hanging!!!! Yikes!!!!

Gotta prepare lunches...good night friends!
