STS first time!

Hi all,
Went into town for some appts. The wind chill was 20s today:confused:! I have a new hairstyle:eek:. It is time for a change! I now have a modern bob. Yikes! Will take me some getting used to:confused:. It's much shorter too, compared with what I've had.

Carolyn, LOVE it when the pool is empty! Sounds like you guys are having an adventurous and marvelous time! The condo sounds awesome too! (Not sure I know what hickory wood looks like.) Would never have thought to bring a bathing suit in winter!

Colleen, hope what you guys get passes quickly as well.:confused: Stinks! Get lots of sleep and drink lots of green tea with honey (and coconut oil;)).

Jean, I tried to watch Paperboy and couldn't finish it. DH told me the horrible ending. However, I enjoyed For a Good Time Call. It was hysterical!

Missy, hooray for a thick mat! I sometimes use 3 layers for my poor tailbone!
 
Thanks girls. Yes we all got the flu shot. I'm feeling better today. My dd is not she started running a fever last night. I'm taking them both to the doctor today. I want to just make sure with my son that his lungs are clear.

Today I did total body BB segments. 2 upper body and 3 lower body. I still need to do abs but ill do that later. My lower body is toast.

Ok. Need to get some work done Check back later.
 
Good morning! Tony, B and I did one of or hotel get aways. We are in Duluth. 3 hours north of where we live. Staying on the Lake Superior at The Inn. We took B swimming for the first time in the pool. We only went for ten minutes but he seemed to like it :)

Feeding time now then off to the exercise room for me. I'm gong to run on the treadmill. Wish me luck. It's been forever since I ran and I'm still forever DOMS from plyo legs on Wed.

Happy Ides of March.

Not much going on. I did BS Ch, B, Sh, with Med Ball Ab Circuits. A low-cal burner. I've not done UB in a while, unless as part of cardio. Maybe tonight I'll do legs on the bike. I've been laying off the bike so that, oddly enough, my tailbone gets a rest; it gets tender. My kneecaps too, if I do it too intensely. Yes, I'm still procrastinating on CM! I've got to line up my workouts better so I'm not doing legs in the morning when I'm going on the spin bike at night.:confused:

Marie, what a nice little getaway. I bet you had to pack tons of things for B:)! I hope you guys are getting some spring-like weather.
How was the treadmill? Remember when I went to PA in July and got on the hotel treadmill? It was fun. I think I only walked though.

Colleen, your poor DD. It is always so worrisome to me when kids get sick, but it's normal, and it builds their immune system. I hope she is all right; and DS too.
Love to hear of your BB doms. It's pretty amazing. I am wanting the sleekness from Leah's workouts, but I'm looking good with Cathe too!;)

I haven't seen that movie yet but I'll look for it. You know I love British movies. Maggie Smith is just spectacular too. I haven't seen previews for The Call. I didn't know you can add a movie to your queue as early as when it's released in theatres! Awesome!

Missy, nice progress on the knees. Keep up the caution.
 
The doctor said its just a cold and DS lungs are clear. So I feel better. The coughs make me so nervous. They stick around for so long....
 
We have been a very quiet bunch this week. Other weeks were are very chatty and talkative. I've had a pretty dull week. Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Colleen, great news on your kids!

UY is back down to $90. Yay.
 
Hello....i was so busy yesterday...i never got a second to check in! I coded all day and then i was leaving work got stopped in the parking lot by a patient...had to go back onside...came back out...got back in my car...driving out of parking lot....got stopped by an employee to talk about an employee who had an attitude with a patient...so then i had to go back inside...chat with drs....needless to say...i didnt grt to leave till 5:30....crazy!!!

Came home....worked out, did afterburn....and rocked it!

Then tim and ate dinner at home and just hung out together!

Today...i have to go to grocery store and bank.....then rhos afternoon I have to wash my car amd truck. The pine pollen is aweful! Today the temps are suppose to go up to 75°…yeah!!!!

On treadmill now!

Yes, it has been slow here this week.

Just finished up ride. I did 14 miles. Felt good but i had to push myself today.

Carolyn, sorry to couldn't sleep last night. Hopefully you were able to fall asleep.

Missy, enjoy the rice weather today.
 
Last week really did me in with the time change. I felt like I was starting those morning workouts all over again. And I got together with my previous work friends Thurs. night, so couldn't even think of getting up to workout on Friday. I hope next week will be better.

DH and oldest DD are in Albany for another volleyball tournament, so I am on my own with my other 2 but doing ok.

I started the 12th week of Xtrain 90 day rotation today, with Supercuts. I was supposed to do core 2 as well but felt like I worked my core already so will push that one to tomorrow. I think I will do UY when I finish XTrain.

Carolyn, sorry to hear of sleep problems, I hate it when that happens.

Colleen, glad there's nothing seriously wrong healthwise, always a worry.

Missy, I can't even imagine pine pollen, it is still so cold here and there were some snow flurries last night!
 
Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps for me this morning. 68 minutes. I like Meso 3 but like everyone says the workouts are just way too long. The first 2 cycles I did cardio on my upper body days but for this cycle I'm not doing that and probably won't do cardio on lifting days from now on. I need to realize that even through I'm not sweating as much when lifting I'm still working out. I really don't need to be working out more than an hour a day anyways. I have more important things to do with my time. Anyways, that was my workout.

I picked up a shift today so I'm at work right now taking a quick break. Tony gets off work at 8 and then we both have tomorrow off so I'm excited to spend time with my boys :) Our trip the past 2 days was really fun. After I finished my treadmill workout I went and sat in the rooftop hot tub for a bit. So relaxing! We took B swimming again that morning. He really likes it. Then we took a drive along the WI side of Lake Superior. Great day!

Gotta pass some Tylenol real quick. I'll be back!
 
Hello!!!

Today...i was swamped! Went grocery shopping after my morning cardio! Then all hell broke out.....after i put my groceries away....i was snacking on raspberries...and my top molar filling broke....now my tooth hurts when i bite down....so now i have to go to the dentist monday....and i hate dentists!!!

I did manage to wash and vacumn my truck....as i have decided to sell it!

Tomorrow i will wash my car....i did vacumn it today....but now tim is home and i am cooking....

Carolyn... i do weights still....i always do cardio in the am....and the pm i do dvds....i think i am either going to start sts or xtrain rotation monday....my knee feels great! I rested my whole body for a week...last wewj i was rehabing so didnt do much weights....as i had to get my knee better because next saturday i have a 5k walk!

Gotta get back to cooking!
 
Just ate dinner.....grilled chicken, cottage cheese, & spinich. Yum!!!

I am planning on hitting the weights hard and cutting down on sugar....hopefully my muscles will pop again....i need to shed a few pds that were gained while on knee recovery!!!

Off to lowes i go!

Had early dentist appts taking 2 hrs, then headed straight to my sis till nearly 11 pm. We did clothes alteration!
We ate KFC:confused:! I eat that once or twice a year. DH, DS had been hankering for it this week, and come to find out, sis and b-i-l were too! So we indulged:confused:. Good thing I did 7 mi on spin bike last night. And Carolyn, you're not a slowpoke on it. I AM!
Had coffee a few hrs ago, so prob will be wide-eyed tonight:confused:. Catch y'all in the am:).
 
Wow, it really is quiet here!

I did XT Low Impact Hiit this morning, and the dreaded core#2. AOLIT is a gem of a workout, little repetition and gets the heart pumping and the body sweating!

Hard to say what results I have from Xtrain, I don't weigh or measure myself. This series really emphasizes the lower body, so I think if it warmed up and I could pull out shorts I would see an improvement in my butt and leg areas. Even today, doing this workout the day after supercuts, I had DOMS in my lower body. It was a really good rotation for mixing things up and keeping the body from getting used to the workouts.

I have so many chores to do today, and I don't feel like doing any of them! I made a fire in the wood stove this morning and I just feel like sitting by it. Must get a move on!
 
Happy St Patrick's Day, my friends! I put a corned beef in the crockpot this morning. Can't wait! Love to eat it once a year! Anyone else making that?

OMG, Carolyn, that TJM sounds awesome! Talk about hog heaven! I haven't been to NConway in over 15 years! Used to drive up there routinely! 3+ hrs!:confused: What a colossal shame you couldn't spend an hour in there! You make me want to go up there!!! You'd rock the shorter shorts--you have Cathe legs!:D Oh man, the Prana dress thing would have burst my bubble too!:confused:

The dentist appts were not for me. We're all going back in June. I can't wait to hear what the hygienist says! My teeth are whiter and my overall oral health is vastly improved, I'm sure! Have you started OPing??

Missy, that's terrible your filling broke! And raspberries are so soft!
Take it easy on the workouts, and don't worry about the weight gain. You know the factors contributing to it are numerous! And you know what you're doing!

Marie, that's a wonderful realization about not needing cardio after STS lifting. You're absolutely right. I felt that way too the days I lifted but simply could not or did not want to do a separate cardio session.

Jean, we're posting at the same time! I can't wait to see Intouchables. Looks really good!

I am the furthest from a seamstress that you can imagine! It's terrifying! I always thought my sis is better at it, so together we tackled some things. It's much less daunting if we talk it through!
Every so often I still do the lemon water first thing that Tosca Reno swears by.

Happy St. Pattys Day!!

Today I did vitality from UY. Another great one. Really enjoyed it. It was 70 minutes long but only made it to the 60 min mark as all hell was breaking lose in the house. Kids could not agree on a show to watch and DH is sick. I'm staring to feel lousy again. Uggg. I cannot wait for spring.

I just made some chicken vegetable soup. It smells yummy.

I'm going to rest for a few minutes before DS gets up from his nap. Bbl.
 
Yin yoga today for me. This one is holding stretches for 3-5 minutes. It was good and felt great for my hips. I ran 6 miles on the treadmill the other day and they were super tight from that. My body was there but my mind was not. I was super distracted. Tony is off today and him and B were upstairs playing. All I could think about was being with them. That being said I skipped the meditation today. But I'm glad I got the yoga in.

Lazy day over here today. We just woke up from a family nap. Haven't napped in ages but man did that feel nice. Not eating the healthiest today. Lasagna is in the oven oh boy! Yum!

B is 5 months today! Time flies!
