STS first time!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I can't possibly catch up at this point but will try to go back later. Just had to pop in to say my Xtrain arrived today! I have been doing the LIS rotation and today was supposed to be a rest day. We drove to Maine to visit DH's cousins and when we got home this afternoon Cathe was in my mailbox! I was so excited I had to try one out, so I did Supercuts. Fantastic workout! Tons of variety and no dread factor I can think of. There are no repetitions and the time just flew by. I don't recommend doing it after a leg day though. My legs were sore from TBT lower body yesterday, and she does dixie cup lunges in supercuts so I skipped that segment. I also need to work on my form for those moves where you're on all fours and then sort of flip to one side and kick your leg out. I wasn't sure if I was doing that one right.

Now I've only seen the one disc, but it looks like Cathe has really outdone herself with this series. The disc not only has the premixes, but it has bonus core workouts and a challenge to go along with it. And the guide that comes with it is very professional looking. Can't wait to do the next workouts!

I hope everyone had a great holiday! We did, although it was quiet. I enjoyed the snow on Christmas day. We are heading down to my brother's on the Cape tomorrow and will spend New Year's there. My house is quiet now - younger daughters are at a sleepover and oldest is grumpy because most of her friends are away. We want to see the Hobbit but she doesn't want to be seen with us!

I am so jelous you girls got your dvd's and I didnt! I hope Monday!!! Guess I will just have to wait a few more days! LOL

Off to do my evening workout! Thinking......Drill Max!!! Havent done it in a while...and I do love it! I am excited to get Xtrain so I can get back on a rotation!!! :eek:

Carolyn---we are posting at the same time.....I am so sorry your knee is giving you all this trouble....but TIME....I am sure eventually you will be back on the hardcore Cathe stuff!!! Untill then, just keep spinning and doing what you can....a little improvement is better than none at all...right? Dont get down on yourself...we are all here for you! HUGS!:)

I hate when I come across some household cleaning project! Yuck! Yours does sound like grease. I don't fry and don't turn flames too high but grease travels!:confused:
Did not go to your outlets but went to the Wrentham one yesterday. Mobbed! Bought a lot of sweaters.

I am feeling like a bloated cow! Cathe will burn it off though. Ice skated for under 2 hrs today but in very slow motion, for I was helping my little nieces.

4-8" of snow predicted for my area!
 
Breckin is sleeping on me right now. Love this feeling. He is such a love. No workout for me today. Just snuggled with my little guy all day :)

Carolyn- So sorry about your darn knee. Fingers crossed it gets better soon. I will be doing a XTrain rotation starting after STS, so in mid April. You better be able to join me but hoping you can do it before that!

Good Morning! Happy Sunday! Up...already did my hour of running on treadmill. I really miss running outside....but it is so freaking cold...I will just stay indoors. I try not to even go outside unless it is a must. Too cold for me! I am finishing all the laundry this morning. After lunch, Tim has to go meet a guy about some racing stuff for sale...so we are going for a ride. Then on way home, we have to stop and get hay....of course the coldest day...we end up with barn chores! I guess that is how it always goes!!!

Tomorrow, I am so hoping the mailman delivers Xtrain....please please please!!! I am thing of starting with 30 day rotation, because I have a hard time sticking with a long roatation because I miss my other Cathe workouts....So..... those are my plans!!

Okay..the dryer just stoped....gotta run...Check in later!

Hi Everyone. Today I started the 90 Day Undulating rotation. The 1st disc was ch,back,sh and I added on the Bonus Core 1. These disks have so many premixes and you can always add core which I love. This w/o moves real fast. It sorta reminds me of meso 1. Just make sure before you start that you ball has enough air in it. I felt like mine was too inflated. No barbell . The handweights were flying. You use the blue tubing also. I am glad I purchased a new one . She starts and ends with pushups. These were different than the ones she does in STS. I thought it was a fun w/o. Tomorrow is Cardio Legs so we will see how that goes. Right now you can't print the w/o sheets so it was a guessing game on how much weight to use. I like that it shows how much Cathe is using. So far so good. They have a 30 day rotation that is weights and Ride. You might be able to do that Carolyn. Just make sure to do a premix with Core.

Missy today your picture came up on my computer and my husband was saying how cute you are. We were wondering if you have a strong southern accent.

Betty do you have a strong Boston accent? You guys can keep the snow up your way. When does your company go home?

Marie do you have a strong Minn accent? It is so nice to hear how much you are in love with Breckin.

Carolyn are you saying that your leg is in pain from spinning yesterday? I remember that you really enjoyed those last exercises you did with the PT guy. Are you doing those everyday?

Mary It is nice to hear from you. I hope you are enjoying your new job still.

Becky I hope all is well with you and your family.

Does anyone have News Years Eve plans? I am sure I will be asleep by then.

Jean, I did the same workout as you today, including core #1! I thought it was a great workout. How does Cathe manage to come up with so many new and effective moves? Especially the shoulder exercises, and who knew 5 lbs could feel so heavy. There is also a nice mix of band work. My upper body feels nicely worked out all over.

I am enjoying my new job, and they are treating me well so far. No regrets about leaving my last position, I only miss the people.

We got about 6-8 inches of snow, but it is so cold and the wind is blowing. About to pack up the car and head to the cape, but I'd rather sit and curl up by the fire. We'll do first night in Chatham with the kids, but I will probably be asleep as midnight as well.

Carolyn sorry to hear your knee is not getting better. Don't rush back into the workouts, but I would think you could do the upper body workouts on XTrain.

Marie, Breckin is adorable, so nice to see pics!

Tim is talking racing with people.....so I thought I would check in.... had a bacon and tomato sanwich with sour cream & onion ritz crackers for lunch. Yum yum!!! Tonight we go to the in laws....

Jean- thats so sweet of your husband! Well I am originaly from south florida...i am country but compared to some of the south ga twang.....I have nothing! Lol But you girls would probably say its country....hehehe

I am so jelous....i ordered within the first hour and I still dont have mine....hoping for tomorrow!!!

I had a light workout yesterday. I did the UB portion from booty barre and then about 20 minute of stretching afterwards. No workout today.

DH and I had our "new years" celebration last night. The kids stayed with my SIL and we went into Philly. We stayed overnight in a hotel and had dinner at a Steven Starr restaurant ( I had won $100 gift certificate at work), alma de Cuba. The food was really good. We were only away from the kids for less than 24 hours by it was a perfect amount of us time.

We also did some shopping and I got 3 sweaters for $50 and the my DH let me splurge on some workout clothes from athleta. I got a pair of workout pants, workout top ( the kind with the build in bra that ate sleeveless) and then a sweatshirt type thing. I'm very excited!!

Carolyn, I am sorry you knee is bothering you. How does your knee feel with walking? Maybe try to do more walking for cardio while you are waiting for your knee to recover?

Missy, for the spin bike the recommendation that I have is I see if there are any spin classes in your area. Take a class and see if you like it. I have taken several into area and that's how I knew what bikes I liked and didn't plus that's how my love for spinning started. The biggest issue for me was getting one that adjusted for my hight. I am short and needed one that would adjust well to it my body.

There is a site that for reviews on spin bikes. I can't remember what it is, but I will post it for you.

Good evening!!! Just got home from the inlaws....yes...sunday dinner...I try not to complain to Tim...because he is so good to me....bur normqlly I am like..the food is always so unhealthy...well tonifht...Tim made his and my plate...and when we got in the truck to come home...he said...we are definately going to be hungry in about a half hour!! Hahaha He served us maybe enough for a small child...yes...it was not healthy...and Tim is so use to my cooking...that every sunday he complains...hehehe

Oh well...it is family time....that is why we go! What you do for your parents!!

I am on the elliptical burning of some calories!!!

Up and feeding. Little man just did a 5 hour stretch. Lately it's been back to every 3 so I'm very happy about this 5 hour stretch. He seems to be growing a lot lately hence the more frequent feedings. I was looking at him the other day and just couldn't believe how big he has gotten.

Carolyn- Did you get back to sleep?

Missy- Good job on the small portion at Tim's parents. I always have to do that at my mom's too and then it's always avoiding dessert. Marie aren't you going to have a brownie?! What about some chocolate?! Nope I'm good! Oh maybe later. Hmm not now. I don't think she will ever understand that I don't like eating that stuff. Yeah it tastes good but the aftermath is not worth it. And then she sends me home with it. I can't tell you how many times I've had to send desserts to work with Tony for him to put in the break room. Either that or it goes in the trash. Ok sorry I'm done now. I'm getting all carried away.

Colleen- Sounds like a great date night with DH. Nice purchases too :)

Mary- So glad you are enjoying your new position.

Jean- Nice job starting the 90 day rotation. Can't wait to hear more about the workouts. I do have a slight MN accent. Comes out stronger with certain words like....should we go booooating this weekend?! As in, let's go out in the boat ;) We tend to make fun of it though as it is more seen further north and not so much it the cities. The other day I joked about being ooot and abooot running errands.

Good Morning! Its Monday! And New Years Eve....Last day of 2012.....

I am up...just packed Tim's lunch.....now its off to exercise....Going to do my normal morning cardio....hoping Xtrain arrives...so I can start it today!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Marie---Tim & I finally broke MIL of the desserts....she use to stuff them down our throats....but one day she was pushing and pushing and Tim snapped at her.....damn, Mom...we dont eat sweets, how many times do we have to tell you...hahahaha She never offers them now!! LOL Even at holidays.....the only time is on birthdays...she gets a tiny cake...then we may have a sliver.....

Okay....please Xtrain arrive today!

Carolyn---Sorry you can't sleep...is this normal or since the surgery?

Marie---B is growing....I can see it in the beautiful pictures....so I am sure he is getting heavier.... :) He is so precious!:eek:

Good Morning Girls. I am having my breakfast and then it is on to Cardio Leg Blast and Core 2. I am not looking forward to this.

Carolyn OMG You were up early. I am glad to see you got back to sleep. I woke up at 5 and 6 and finally the dogs woke me at 7:15.

Missy What time does your mail carrier come? If you get it today , what will be your 1st that you do tonight? You should write a question in OD about what spin cycles people like. If you go to "search" anf type in spin bike , you might some some other conversations already posted.

Marie Everytime I watch something and the people talk with a Minn accent , I always imitate the words. In that movie "Fargo" , they have real heavy accents in that. That is great that B slept for 5 hours. It does get better.

If Xtrain comes today....I am doing Hard Strikes first....oh yeah! My pink boxing gloves and I are ready!!!!:eek:

I finished my elliptical session...burned 800 calories...or so it says....

Cardio Legs wasn't as bad as some of Cathe's stuff. You guys should be able to get thru it with no problem since you all do cardio and legs so often. Most of the sets are 16 reps which is very doable. There are plenty of lunges in all varieties. The ending is alot of jumping on and off the step. The cardio sections really aren't that long. You do a cardio and then a legs throughout the w/o. I personally was glad when it was over but I really think you guys are going to love it. Core 2 was for more advanced abs. I could hardly do any of it. She ends with some plank abs. They are very hard for me.
Tomorrow I am scheduled for Hard Strikes. I am not sure how I am going to like that. I just don't feel like I move my arms correctly. But I will give it a shot. Missy I hope you are able to do that tonight to give a review but I have never heard you say you don't like a w/o.

I hope everyone gets theirs today so we can do this together even if we aren't on the same w/o.
