STS BODYROCKERS MONTH OF JANUARY

Afternoon!

It's Friday, YAY! No workout for me....YET. ;) I'll be kicking butt at "Happy Hour" at 5:00 pm today. Never thought I would be looking forward to working out on a Friday evening, LOL!

So, Wiggie has sore shoulders, Wendy has sore biceps, and I have sore triceps! :eek::eek::eek: STS has been kicking my butt lately. DOMS all.the.time. Geez it makes me happy. :p;)

Wiggie: Yay for sore shoulders. :p Sounds like you had an awesome workout yesterday. I haven't attended my Happy Hour class yet but i'll definitely let you know how it goes!

Wendy: I say if the job feels right, take it! Don't worry about appeasing the company right now. People switch jobs all the time. It's just a simple fact that every business must face. Gone are the days when a person sticks with one company for his/her working life. Sadly, it is the companies themselves that caused the "job change" phenomena. But I digress, lol! How long is your internship? If you can handle your internship and a f/t job, I say go for it. As you know, finding any job is hard right now, so if the job is a good fit, don't pass up the opportunity. But that's just my two cents of course. :) I know you've got lots of factors to take into consideration.
 
Hi Girls!

Love that we are all sore in our upper bodies! Put us together and we wouldn't be able to move! LOL I tell ya those punches in Combat were extra hard with my sore biceps and now I feel like a muscle head b/c my arms don't straighten out at my sides all the way b/c they are so tight and sore right now! LOL

So you'll never guess what happened! I got an email this afternoon from ANOTHER internship facility contact that I had given up on hearing from! He apologized for the delay but said he'd love to have me intern there if I'm still interested! :D I wrote back and accepted. That makes three and that's my limit unless one doesn't pan out for some reason....

Katie:: Thanks for the feedback. Makes perfect sense. I asked another friend and my mom and they are both of the same opinnion as you. :) How can I not trust the opinnions of three very smart ladies? ;) That would be foolish of me so if given the opportunity I will go for it! :D The internship requirement is 30 hours to be done within one year. They give you alot of time incase "life gets in the way", etc but I don't want to take nearly that much time b/c I'd like to be working as a trainer long before that even if only part time on the side! With three internship sites to bank hours in I should be able to finish pretty quickly I'm thinkin'! :D Fingers crossed!!!! It will definitely be harder to get my internship hours in if I end up with a full time job but it's doable. It'll just take a bit longer. IDK how I'd work as a trainer with a full time office job though. That'll be tough. I have a family. I don't want to be working 60 hours a week! :eek: That's where my problem lies for the future and why I would have preferred a part time office job but I'm gonna roll with it and try not to obssess over things that haven't happened yet!:rolleyes: Have fun at your happy hour class! Sounds uber cool! Can't wait for a full report on it! :D

Good Morning.

Today is my final work out before taking an active recovery week. Combat ub and core is on the agenda plus lunges and/or the hip thruster challenge! :)

Not much else goin' on around here at the moment. Been a quiet morning in this house...we are all being lazy...:rolleyes:

So last night around 5:30 a cell phone started to ring. Since mine hardly ever rings (LOL) I automatically assumed it was DH's. Well it wasn't and by the time I went to pick up the call they had hung up. The caller ID said it was the law firm I interviewed with so I tried to call the office back but it was closed and they didn't leave a msg on my voicemail. Wierd...no idea what that was about...:confused:

Good Morning. :)

No work out for me yesterday after all. Wasn't feeling so hot. Today I feel ok so far (knock on wood) so hopefully it will get done!

Trying to decide what to do after my active recovery week. I think I want to take a month to do a different rotation and then return to Combat after that to finish it out. Just not sure which rotation to do...so many options! :eek:

Well it's obvious that I am talking to myself today :p but I came back anyway to report that my work out is done as planned and that wraps up Combat for me for a bit! Not because I don't love it (coz ya know I do!) but b/c the bod needs a rotation with a different focus!

PS-No walking lunges today coz I forgot!:eek:

Today is yoga. I'll decide which one when I am ready to do it.

Good morning!! :)

No workout Friday, I worked a 24 ( on the ambulance)because we were so short. Saturday's workout was Power Fit Harmony, lower body, Strong Push & Strong Pull for a total of 60 minutes. Sunday's was More Cardio Strength, Slim & Limber & 325 walking lunges spread out during the day. I'm off today for the holiday, so my workout so far was Fire 60. I plan to do some walking lunges later & another dvd. I haven't decided which one yet. :rolleyes:

Wendy: I am so sorry I made you talk to yourself all weekend. :D I intended to get back here but just never did. I'm glad you're feeling better, smart of you to take a rest. Sometimes I workout even when I'm not feeling my best, I know that's not a good thing to do but sometimes just can't help myself. :p I agree with Katie about the job, people change jobs all the time if something better comes along.

Katie: I can't wait to hear about "Happy Hour"!! I've never had sore shoulders from cardio before, weights yes, cardio no! So I was really surprised that Combat does that. I would rather have sore triceps, they need more work than my shoulders do!:p

This morning's work out was all of the Kundalini Yoga- Lose Weight Feel Great DVD (90m). :)

I am off of work today too. ;):D:p

So I got a c/b for a second interview for the Law Firm job!!!! Going tmrw at 11:30am! That's when I had an internship apptmnt set up so that stinks but I am rescheduling it to make way for the interview. Gotta!!!!:D That is why they tried to call on Friday night btw but I guess when I tried to p/u the call I disconnected it by accident, hence no msg. :confused:

Wiggie:: Fantastic work outs!!! I never was big on buying TF but I am attempting to grab a set on Ebay right now. If I can get it "for the right price" then I wanna give it a shot. I've got $ to burn from all of the selling I've been doing! ;) I'd also like to give LM's Body Pump a try but I can't find a good price on Ebay (yet) and I don't see the pkg without the barbell being sold on Beach Body anymore. :( You worked a 24 hour shift!?!? :eek: Did you sleep on the Ambulance or something!!?? Holy cow!!!!:eek:

My add-ons for Monday were Power fit Harmony Move it by Stephanie Huckabee & CycleMax. SH used to be an instructor with The Firm videos. I was going to do HIIT 20 but my thighs wouldn't cooperate :confused: I guess it's all those walking lunges!:eek:

Wendy: Congrats on scoring a second interview!! That's great!! Sorry you had to reschedule your pt appointment, but I'm sure it will work out. So you're thinking about getting TF & LM Pump? I love them both, I guess you can tell by how often I do TF & I bought it when it came out in 2010. I started to pull out Fat Free Yoga this weekend & did Slim & Limber instead. I'm still not doing yoga like I should. :rolleyes: It's a work in progress.:) You are so good at getting a little of everything in your rotations, good job!! :D Good luck on your interview!!

Hello. :)

Well my first stab at TF didn't work out but I quickly found another being sold at a good price so I jumped on it. :D Ofcourse there is an issue on the buyer's end w/the payment b/c she listed paypal as payment form accepted yet paypal says she isn't registered :confused: so my pmt is still in the "pocessing" mode until it gets resolved....:rolleyes:

Today will be another yoga work out of choice but it probably won't happen until after my interview. I won't be able to relax if I do it before so what's the point? :confused:

Wiggie:: LOL yeah sure blame it on the lunges! :p;) I have to admit that I am happy to have a break from them this week and then there will be less then a week left of them before I can move on to another challenge! I was thinking of firewalkers, inner thigh work or maybe a combo of both. Care to join me and if so, any input? :) So what's this about not doing your yoga, missy?? Am I going to have to get tough with you, young lady? :p So it's funny coz I never really wanted TF or Pump but after getting and loving Combat and hearing raves about Pump, I have to think that I'll love it too and TF is popular as well so since I'm getting a good price on it, I'm giving it a shot! If I don't care for it I can sell it! :p I have a feeling that even though it was "talked about" that maybe Pump was never released w/o the barbell. That being said, IDK if I'll ever get it. There is a set of just the dvds available on ebay but the buyer has no feedback and it's not cheap so I'm not comfortable purchasing from them. I know Ebay backs everything but I'd just rather not take the chance, you know? Thanks for the interview vibes. Fingers crossed! :)

I have been looking at combat from bb.. I love KPC and HS is so fun for me... How does HS compare with combat? If i like HS will i like combat? Thanks

Combat is very different from any of Cathe's boxing or Kickboxing work outs so it's hard to say. I love kickboxing/boxing dvds by Cathe and others but I love Combat even more! Laura never liked kickboxing dvds but loves Combat b/c she has taken karate and says it's definitely more like the real thing. IDK if that helped at but I can say that I honestly haven't heard a bad word uttered from ANYONE regarding this set! It rocks! :D
 
Hummm what about thw music in it? Uplifting? I saw a clip but still not telling u much of what it is actualy like. I keep wanting to try, is it hard on the knees? Thanks for you time!
 
Hi girls!

My Happy Hour class last Friday was amazing. The best part....free beer afterwards. :D I only had one because I didn't want to undo all my hard work. Still, pretty cool. Saturday I rested, and Sunday I did All Out Low Impact HiiT. Excellent cardio workout. Not as hard as the high impact HiiT workouts, but I still got nice and sweaty. ;) Yesterday I took another rest day. I had the day off work and just felt worn out. Today's workout will be Punch class after work. I'm excited!!

Wendy: Congrats on the second interview! and good luck (though you probably won't see this until it's all over and done, lol). Let us know what happens. I HATE when ebay sellers list a payment option that isn't really available. Annoying! Enjoy your yoga/rest week. You deserve the break! Any decision yet on your next rotation?

Wiggie: Wow, what a great mix of workouts this weekend! WTG! A 24 hour shift sounds exhausting. Hopefully you were able to sleep just a bit. How are your thighs feeling this morning? Still a bit tired? :p;) I had sore shoulders once from doing an Ellen Barret yoga/cardio workout. I have no idea why..maybe just because it was different. :rolleyes::p

Hi Renee! I don't have Combat (yet), but Wendy and Wiggie love it! and these girls know good workouts. ;) Have fun!
 
Wendy: I think you are going to have to get tough with me!! :p I am in on the next challenge & what you suggest sounds good. I forgot to add that I did some pistol squats after watching Zuzana online. Maybe we could add that to the challenge?I bought Pump without the barbell because I already have 2. I bought it online after seeing an infomercial.

Katie & Wendy: Re the 24 hr shift, we can sleep between calls, problem is we had calls pretty much until 5am!!:eek:

I love the music, so does Wiggie. I'm sorry-I meantioned a Laura to you before-I forgot which check in I was in. Laura is in my other one! LOL As for hard on the knees, there is definitely jumping/impact in it but there is a modifier you can follow in every work out if you want to keep it grounded.

Wiggie-any comments about Combat to add for Renee? :)

I ran away so quickly before b/c I was going to sit with DH and relax in front the telly for a bit before starting dinner. Well wouldn't ya know, inside of 10 mins after I sat down he went in the bedroom for a nap :rolleyes:....so 10 mins after THAT, I did too! :D:p:p:p

Katie:: Whoa!?! Did you say FREE BEER after class!?! Really??? Where do I sign up!!!???? :D:D:D When I was racing I once signed up for a race that gave all participants a coupon for a free beer after you were done at a local restaraunt. I wanted to redeem it but forgot. :( They actually say that ONE beer shortly after a long or intense run (and I have to assume any other type of cardio work out too) is a great way to relplenish carbs in your system quickly! :) Thanks for the good luck vibes on the interview. As you can see, they worked! :D My pay pal pmt is still processing :rolleyes:. I garuntee she was setting up the account after she placed the ad figuring it would sell that quickly. I just hope nothing goes wrong and I lose the purchase! :mad: I'd be pissed coz I thought it was a great deal and the only reason I am going to try it!

Wiggie:: So you were able to purchase Pump sans barbell brand new huh?? :confused: Ok, maybe I will call BB and ask about it at some point....OMG I can not do pistol squats to save my life!!!!:eek: Ok, so I think that the challenge I will do (so long as time as allows since my nice relaxed schedule just got a monkey wrench thrown in it!:p) is to alternate doing firewalkers one day and inner thigh squeezes/lifts the next. If you want to add pistol squats to that, you go right ahead but this girl is sittin' that one out! :p LOL Wow that's a crazy job you have there girl! God Bless you for what you do....helping to save lives....so brave! :)

Tuesday's workout was Intensity, & later I did some pistol squats. I should say my version of pistol squats.:confused: I can't go anywhere near as low as Zuzana, so it's something to work towards.:rolleyes:

Wendy: Congrats on the new job, I hope you love it!! Yeah, I have a crazy job sometimes but I love it, well, most of the time.:p Are you doing your inner thigh squeezes with a ball between your legs? Or is it like a hip thrust & you squeeze your knees together?

Katie: Free beer afterward, very cool!:cool: When I began Intensity my thighs had that tired feeling but it went away, thank goodness!! I like that workout alot, there are only 2 moves in it I don't like, windmills & that move where you have one hand on your waist & you sort of jump to the side swinging the other hand in the direction you are jumping. I know that's not a clear description, but I don't remember what it's called.:confused:

Hi Renee: I like the music in Combat alot, & I agree with Wendy's opinion of it. I love all the attention to correct form also. It's high impact but it hasn't bothered my knees at all. But like Wendy said you can follow the modifier if that's an issue for you. :)

Punch class yesterday was excellent, as usual. ;) I'm really loving the classes at this gym. It's just different than what i've been doing, and different is good! :) This morning I did Disc 20 (legs) + AC: Medicine Ball Abs. I love this leg workout! Fingers crossed for DOMS tomorrow. :D

Wendy: CONGRATS!!!! That's so exciting darling! So what are you going to do about your workouts now? Are you going to go back to early morning workouts? Have you got your PT Internship schedule figured out yet? With 3 different places hopefully you can work around your work schedule with relative ease. Yep, FREE BEER after class. Pretty dang awesome if you ask me. I signed up for this Friday's class already, lol! :eek::eek::p Any updates on your TF order?

Wiggie: Whew, thank goodness you were able to get a wee bit of sleep the other night. Intensity is such a fun workout, but VERY tough! It always sneaks up on me because Cathe starts out so nice, lol! I despise windmills... it's in my top 10 hated cardio moves. Right up there with jump turning squats. Evil ole' things. :p;)
