STS BODYROCKERS MONTH OF JANUARY

Hello All!!

Friday's workout was a 30 minute ride on my spin bike, Start It Up by Debbie Siebers & 50 walking lunges. Saturdays was Pump Revolution that am & Get Ripped to the Core by Jari Love that afternoon. Sunday's was Low Impact Challenge, a 40 minute bike ride(outside), & Cardio Core Express by DS. I forgot how hard LIC is, those drills at the end almost killed me!! I also did some yard work, washed the car, etc.. since it was so nice outside.

Wendy: I will get a BB acount so I can check out those deals, thanks for the tip!! ;)

Katie: Glad you enjoyed hot yoga, I agree with Wendy, I don't think I could handle it!! :p So another Xtrain workout & you loved it. I am so glad I can "experience" Xtrain through you & Wendy!!

P.S. I finally figured out how to make all those little faces, so I made sure to use them all!!

Mornin' Glories! :)

Well, yesterday turned out to be a total rest day and I was fine with that. Today is a totally different story though! ;) Combat 60 and walking lunges here I come! :D I have had some nice bicep DOMS the past couple of days from throwing all of those punches! I love it! :)

I was up for like 2 hours in the middle of the night last night so a nap is definitely on tap today along with my work out and food shopping...And that will pretty much sum up MY day!

Wiggie:: I am obsessed with the smilies. I use them all the time! :p See? :D LOL Wow you really banged out the work outs over the weekend! You have some awesome freakin' energy, lady! Good for you! :D

BBL!

Hi gals!

Yesterday's workout was Hard Strikes (no conditioning) + Core 1. I really like that core workout. It's the perfect intensity (I still miss a few reps here and there, but i'm working on it) and length. Hard Strikes rocked, especially with my gorgeous pink boxing gloves. ;) I'm also still working through Meso 2, so today's workout was Disc 18 (back and biceps). I skipped over Disc 17 (legs) but don't worry, i'll get back to it later this week. :p I've got my second Punch classes scheduled for tomorrow and i'm super excited. :D

Wendy: Actually, I think the heat made me enjoy the yoga session more than usual. Kinda crazy, huh? :p;) Normally, I HATE working out when it's even kinda hot. The room was warm but not unbearable (I don't think it was really 90 degrees). The heat really helped my flexibility which overall made the yoga more enjoyable and less painful. So what did you think of Hard Strikes? How does it compare to Combat? I get paid tomorrow so that's when i'm ordering Combat. FINALLY!:rolleyes::p SHHHH, don't tell my husband. ;) Hope you enjoyed your rest day yesterday.

Wiggie: I love the smiley faces too. :D They make me happy, lol.:p I think you need to invest in XTrain. So far, it is rocking my socks off. Your weekend workouts make mine look puny. :D I need to step up my game to keep up with you two. ;) LIC is one of my favs, but you're right about the drills at the end. They kinda sneak up on ya.

Combat 60 LIVE and 100 walking lunges...DONE! :D

Got a positive response from a place that I contacted about my PT internship so keep your fingers crossed that it works out! :D:D

No time for personals right now but I'll be back!

Hey there!! :)

I did 80 walking lunges today(Mon) while at work. I thought I'd better post that now, I may forget later!!

Wendy: Good luck re the internship!!

TTYL!! :D

Good Morning. :)

Yesterday's work out was Combat 60 LIVE and 100 walking lunges (25 with 10#dbs, 25 bodyweight, repeat pattern one more time).

Today the rotation calls for the Combat Upper Body and Core work outs.

I didn't sleep all that great again last night. Fell asleep fine but woke up at some point to use the bathroom and then I was up for a while. My legs were hurting me and I guess that is what was keeping me up coz when I finally took advil and they started to feel better I fell asleep. The pain wasn't normal DOMS either. It was a constant ache. I think maybe I need to allow for another rest day from the lunges in addition to my regular rest day. I will try it and see what happens.

Well, I finally got a response from someone regarding my PT internship. It's someone I sent an email to...just one...not three and yet I place multiple phone calls to others and get NOTHING in return. People can be so rude! Not only did she respond but she accepted so I am supposed to meet with her this morning to tour the facility, do paperwork, etc. :D

Gotta go get ready. I need to leave here no later then 8:45 and I want to be ready before that for once. I tend to be late...

I will come back for personals before I go if there is time...if not I will do it when I return!

Hi gals!

No workout for me yet today. I've got my Punch class today at 5:00 pm after work. I'm super excited!!

Wendy: Sometimes when my legs are just plum exhausted (not even DOMS, just tired from workouts, walking, work, etc.) they will ache like that. I tend to notice it when i'm just extra tired in general. I also find advil helps. I know missing sleep is dreadful. Hopefully you can sneak in a nap this afternoon. CONGRATS on the PT internship! YAY!!! Good luck today! Let us know what you think of the gym.

Wiggie: Walking lunges at work, EEK! You go girl! ;) Look at you posting at work. Am I starting to rub off on you? :D:p;)

I'll stop back by tonight after my Punch class or in the morning and give you a full report on the workout. :)

Hello Ladies!!

My workout yesterday was Powerfit Harmony by Stephanie Huckabee. It's a 10 dvd set I got a while back form total fitness dvds website. It was on clearance for 14.95 & came with 3 bands. I figured the bands were worth 14.95 so why not. All the workouts are 20 minutes long, she uses the push/pull method of weight training, so some are push, some are pull, some are core/yoga & some are cardio. The cardios are done step style using the band laid out as a marker. I used an 8 inch step so the workout was ok. I was surprised at how much I was sweating. I figured it would be an easy workout since I really didn't feel like exercising at all.

Wendy: I am so glad you got a positive response! :) Be sure to let us know how it goes. You have been doing a lot of leg work lately, If your legs could speak they would say thank you!! :p Hope you rest better tonight.

Katie: Enjoy your class!! :D

Good Evening. :)

Finally made it back here!

Just finished the last of my work out actually-the stretch. I didn't work out until right before it was time to make dinner so I couldn't fit the stretch in until now.

Combat Upper Body Blow Out, Core Attack and Stretch & Strengthen. All phenomenal! No walking lunges today. I didn't want to chance it. I'll give them a go again tmrw though and see what happens. :)

So I met with the gal at the gym (it's a ymca) and basically as long as I pass the background checks she will accept me as an intern. She also mentioned that she has ended up hiring interns which is nice to know. They have 2-3 per year come through that facility. Obviously not all can be hired but it's nice to know that she always keeps it in mind if there is a need. :)

In the mean time, I got a call about an office job I had applied to. They want me to come in for an interview! I almost fell over! LOL Anyway, I returned her call but she was busy. She said she would call me back a little bit later but I didn't hear from her so I will call her tmrw if she doesn't call me first. :)

Katie:: Hope you had fun in your class tonight! Smart to save your energy for it by not working out this morning too! ;)

Wiggie:: Walking lunges at work? You rock! I don't blame you for pouncing on that work out set deal! I love a deal! Speaking of which, I got my Zuzanna DVD set in the mail today so I'm going to have use the work outs as add-ons so I can try them all. There is a calendar with a rotation which I will have to add to list TO DO list as well at some point. It could be perfect for when I finally get back to work as the work outs are intense but short just the way Zuzanna does it on her webiste! Yes, overall I am sure my legs are thanking me but not last night. Last night I think they were cursing me out! LOL

Ok, gotta scram to get my son from wrestling practice now.

Have a great night!

Good morning!!

Tuesday's workout was HIIT 30, no add ons. This morning at work I did 100 walking lunges. I get to work early & I'm alone in my office , so I say why not? :p The crews are usually asleep or out on calls.

Wendy: I hope the office job works out as well as the pt internship did!! I didn't know Zuzka had a dvd, I've always hoped she would!! I just ordered the set from Amazon, thanks, I think! :p

Katie: I have almost always posted from work. There was a time I had alot of problems getting on the internet at home, but since I changed my internet protection company I haven't had any.

Have a great day!! :)

Morning.

Punch class yesterday was awesome! My hands are a little sore today. I don't think I wrapped my hands properly. I bought my own wraps and practiced last night so hopefully I won't have this problem in the future. This morning I did Disc 17 (legs) + Core. My core was so tired from class yesterday it was a pretty pathetic showing.

Wendy: Congrats on the internship! That's super exciting. You're going to be a wonderful PT. So what's the other office job? Anything interesting? Smart to rest your legs. You've been working them hard lately. Keep up the fantastic workouts!

Wiggie: Yay for a new workout DVD series. That's always exciting. Glad to know you enjoyed the workout! I've never heard of Stephanie Huckabee. I'll have to do some investigating. ;)

Have a great day gals!

Hello.

I am late checking in b/c I am late working out...in fact, I STILL haven't worked out. This morning I had to take my DH's car in for an early service apptmnt at the dealer that's almost an hour away. When I got home I messed around on the pc for too long and ate lunch and then took a nap that was waaay too long!:rolleyes: When I woke up I had enough time for a cup of coffee and to fill out the paperwork for the place I will be interning and by the time I was done I had to leave to pick up DS from school.

In the meantime I got another message about a job I applied for (when it rains it pours! LOL). They wanted to set up an interview but it was a place I had decided after I applied that I wasn't interested in so I called back and told them I was no longer interested.

When DH gets home around 4pm I am going to head over to the YMCA to hand in my paperwork and when I get back home I will work out. In the meantime DH is taking DS to an activity for his wrestling league.

My work out will be Combat 45 as per the rotation plus lunges but only if I have time...

Katie:: Sorry about your sore hands from class. Hope you've solved the problem! Nice work out this morning and no work out is pathetic unless you don't do it at all! :) The job I am interviewing for on Friday is for a law firm. If I am correct it's a part time position as a file clerk. Lots of pc and filing work. Very little to no phones. YAY! ;) My mom's bf apparently knows the attorneys so he has offered to make a call post-interview if I want him to. After all it's not WHAT ya know it's WHO ya know! Sad but true!

Ok, DH is home so I need to get goin'!
BBL or ITAM!

Good morning!! :)

Wednesday's workout was Pump & Shred + 100 more walking lunges, I don't use any weights.

Katie: So glad you're still loving that punch class, how are your hands?

Wendy: Good luck on your interview!!

Have a great day!! ;)

Morning....not a good one though.

I was kept up for about 4 hours last night by DH and his snoring. UGH. A nap is definitely calling my name as soon as I am done posting this.

So when I got home from dropping off the internship app y'day afternoon I had a THIRD msg about a possible job! I have to call them back this morning! :D

I did a more thorough search on the job I am interviewing for tmrw. I found the actual help wanted ad and it's full time, not part time like I originally thought. I also applied for a part time position by the same name though so I'm not crazy! :p

Today's work out will be Combat Lower Body and Stretch according to the rotation. Considering the biceps 100 rep challenge and more lunges as well! :)

Wiggie:: Thank you! Nice work out! Enjoy your day!:)

Hi ho...Hi ho...It's off to bed I go...

Hello. :)

Today's workout was Disc 19 (chest, shoulders, and triceps). Those double wave loads are KILLER! I struggled to complete the chest and tricep segments because my muscles were so fried. I've also decided this was the last week I can do bench presses without a spotter. My weight is heavy enough (55-60 pounds) that when I get close to failure I struggle to get the weight back to the floor (I don't have the turbo tower). Kinda scared me once this morning....

Wendy: Wow, job mania over there! ;):p I'm so happy for you!!! It's nice to have options. The part-time law office job sounds perfect to complement your PT internship! You're right. In the legal world especially, WHO you know is vital...which is kind of sad when you think about it. Enjoy your nap. You deserve it! Snoring is the worst. and kick some Combat butt this afternoon! ;)

Wiggie: Great workout yesterday! You are rocking those workouts lady! My hands are much better. I practiced wrapping on Tuesday after class, so hopefully I won't have this problem again in the future. I was also using my new gloves (as opposed to the gloves available at the gym) and I think my gloves need to be broken in a bit. I'm going to a class tomorrow called "Happy Hour" that features kickboxing, kettleballs, suspension training, ropes, plyo boxes, etc. Who knows what kind of torture the instructor has planned. :D:p;)

I'm back.

Nap taken and work out done! :)

XTrain 100 rep bicep challenge-upped weight from 10 to 15# and really felt it!
50 body weight walking lunges-kinda whimped out on this one today but I don't want to put myself out of commission by pushing too hard!
Combat Lower Body Lean Out
Combat Stretch and Strength

So I called the temp agency and they have a f/t general office position for me that is temp to hire (perm). Pay starts low but if they hire me permanently I get a $3.33/hr raise! Not a bad deal. I want to give the interview tmrw a shot though. Want to see what it's about before I jump on anything. They might be offering more $...IDK b/c the ad I answered didn't say what the pay would be. So anyway, I told the agency I'd call them back tmrw afternoon...

I also received an email from the woman at the YMCA. She said the p/w should only take a couple of days to process and she will contact me when I'm cleared to start. I'm getting excited but also pretty nervous!

Katie:: Be careful! I don't blame you for getting scared. I have been there. I worry if I go to heavy on lower body work with a BB on my shoulders that I won't be able to lift it back over my head when I'm done! The turbo tower helped me alot during STS. You need to get one! ;)

Ok, time to get myself and this house cleaned up!

BBL!

Good Morning. :)

Yes, it's actually a GOOD morning because I got SLEEP last night for the first time in DAYS!:D

Good thing too coz I have that interview at 10am!

Today's work out which I will do later is Combat 60. I have one more work out tmrw and then I will have completed 4 weeks of this rotation which is just shy of half way through. I think I will take an active recovery next week and do lots of the yoga I've missed doing lately before moving on to the 2nd half of the rotation.

Oh and here's a great one! The phone rang last night while I was cooking dinner. It was a local gym I called about an internship like what..a solid week ago?? I called and left 2 msgs, heard nothing and gave up. Well she called me back last night! Now I have TWO sites to intern at! WooT!:D

K, gotta scram but I'll BBL!

Good morning!!

Thursday's workout was Power Kata & 100 walking lunges, my shoulders are feeling it this am, every time I raise my arms!!

Wendy: Wow!! You are in high demand right now!! :D So happy to see you have so many options, that is always a good thing. I'm also happy that you rested well last night, my DH snores sometimes too!! I think you have more than earned a recovery week. Did I tell you I ordered the Zuzanna dvds? I can't wait to get them, I always wished she would make a dvd.

Katie: So how was happy hour? ;) I like the name of that one. :p I think you are wise to make sure you have a spotter next time you go heavy, that would have scared me too. When you don't have one you can always go a little lighter & add a few more reps.

Hello. I'm back. :)

The interview was short and sweet. The location is close by and easy to get to. The firm/office is quite large and very impressive. The lady I interviewed with was very friendly and has been there 19 years. From what she said she considers me a top contender for the job but her boss has to make the final decision. She is doing the initial interviewing and then he will take over once she picks her faves. That being said, a second interview will be an order if I get his approval after this round! The pay starts at $11/hour. Not sure when you get your first raise but probably after 90 days or something as that's when all of the bennies they offer would kick in, etc. I'm sure it won't be a $3.33 jump like the temp to perm position but it's probably a much larger company then the temp job and is very stable and secure with room for advancement. Ofcourse, this brings me to my other issue which is that I don't intend to/hope not to have to stay at a f/t office position for a super long time b/c I want fitness to be my main job. So should I be offered a 2nd interview and then if they were to offer me the job....should I take it? She said she wants a person who intends to stay there long term. That made me feel terribly guilty but OTOH what if I can never make training my main job for some reason? What if I turn this down for no good reason? UGH! I hate this! Unemployment is such a pita! I wouldn't even be applying for full time office work right now if not for them!:confused:

Wiggie:: You have sore shoulders and I have sore biceps! Woot! :D Nice work out! Oh I'm so happy that you ordered Z's dvds! I haven't even previewed em yet coz I don't want to be tempted yet! LOL

BBL!

Combat 60 Extreme Cardio Fighter + 50 body weight walking lunges done inserting 5 squats after every 5 lunges for a total of 50 lunges AND 50 squats.....DONE!:D
