STS BODYROCKERS MONTH OF JANUARY

Good morning!!

Saturday was another rest day, sort of. We were busy doing other things so I never got around to working out. Sunday's was Extreme Cardio Fighter & Monday's was a 3 mile run, About 90 minutes of different leg machines & later that day I did start it up & Thin Thighs Gauranteed by Debbie Siebers.

Katie: How was the party?

Wendy: Sorry you didn't win big, I was rootin for ya!! :p Tracy's Mat workout was okay, there were parts of it I liked.

Tuesday's workout was Combat 60 Live(loved it!!) & Ramp it up by Debbie Siebers. Well back to work in the am, to quote Katie, BOO!!

Hi Girls. :)

I took a rest day today.

Tomorrow will be Combat Upper Body (and the start of a walking lunge challenge!!!!)...picking up with the rotation where I left off a few days ago. Those last couple work outs I did weren't part of the rotation...

Had the extra Combat dvds and XTrain on my front porch waiting for me when we got home from AC today! :D

I previewed the Combat work outs. They look great. Haven't look at XTrain yet but I will do that this week. I did flip through the guide book though and it's a total cross between CTX and STS! :)

Not sure which new program I will try after Combat...I'll have quite a decision to make! Probably not a good thing for my exercise ADD, huh? :p

Wiggie:: OMG you have been a work out machine since you've been on vacation! Where do you get the energy?!?!:D

Katie:: Today was my last hurrah with bad eating! I'm going food shopping, logging back into WW and hopefully the weight I've gained will be history soon and my pants will fit properly again!!! What's your plan of attack? :)

Good morning!!

Wendy: Hooray for new toys!!:D Give me the details of this walking lunge challenge, I want to do it with you.

Morning girls!!

XTRAIN FINALLY ARRIVED! Yahoo! It showed up late Monday afternoon. I decided to take this week off from STS so I could try a few of the XTrain strength workouts. I went with the Burn Sets workouts because they are 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise (so similar to Meso 2). Tuesday I did Burn Sets: Chest, Back, and Shoulders. Loved it!!! Very straightforward, no nonsense lifting. Even adding on Core #1 the workout was under an hour. Oh, the core workout, freaking awesome! It was tough (I missed a few reps here and there ) but enjoyable. No dread factor, which is saying something because most ab routines have a high dread factor for me. Today I did XTrain: Legs. It was great, but probably not an all-time favorite. I'll let you know if I have DOMS tomorrow. Tomorrow is Burn Sets: Biceps and Triceps. I'm so excited!!

Also, to kickstart the return to my healthy lifestyle, I bought a Groupon for 20 group fitnesses classes at a gym near my office. The gym offers 3 (primary) class: Punch (kickboxing with a heavy bag), Kettle Kombat (a mix of kickboxing and kettleballs), and Burn (a kick butt, functional class that uses kettlebells, battling ropes, sand bags, suspension trainers, plyo boxes, tires, etc.).

AND, if that's not all, my sister got me intoxicated on New Year's Eve and convinced me to sign up for a Warrior Dash in August 2013. EEK! I'm nervous but excited. I'm hoping the Burn class at the gym will help me prepare for the Warrior Dash. I'm also going to talk an Army buddy of mine into running with me so he can help me with the obstacles. :D

One last thing, I finally purchased a barbell. Yep, you heard that right. Two years of working out with Cathe and I never could afford a barbell, until now. I went with the Troy Lite System that Cathe uses mainly because the bar itself is smaller (I don't have a lot of room in my house). It's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.

Wiggie: Thanks for getting us started for the new year. :) Big BOO on going back to work. I was actually looking forward to it a wee bit until I had to get up this morning and put on something other than pajama pants, lol! The New Year's Party was fun. I think everyone had a good time but stayed under control (no crazy drunks playing in the snow of anything :p). Do you have a favorite Combat workout yet??

Wendy: Welcome back!! I hope you had a good time at the casinos. XTrain and new Combat dvds = SCORE! Now, which Combat package would you recommend I buy? I will probably have to wait a month or two (between the barbell and kickboxing classes i'm a wee bit broke), but want to start planning ahead. I'm loving your healthy eating plan. Your pants will be loose in no time. ;) I started up my myfitnesspal account again yesterday. I'm going to start (i) eating less sweets (2 small pieces of dark chocolate per day MAX), (ii) only eating out once per week, and (iii) logging my food again. This combo worked for me in the past. I checked this morning and i've gained approximately 7 pounds over the past 3-4 months. It's time for those pounds to GO!

Hello Ladies. :)

Today's work out was as follows...Combat Upper Body Blow Out (30m), XTrain Tabatacise Premix #1(30m), 50 walking lunges holding a set of 5# DB's, and Combat Stretch and Strengthen (20m).

Wiggie:: I don't have a solid plan for my walking lunge challenge. Just going to do some every day that I work out. Some days more. Some days less. Some days heavy. Some days light. Not much help, I know! :p

Katie:: I think you should get the Combat set that comes with the 2 "bonus" dvds (core, stretch, upper, lower) as that's what I ended up ordering separately less then 2 weeks after receiving my original order.

Sorry this is so short but I need to get dinner started....BBITAM!

Hello! :)

Today's workout was Burn Sets: Bis and Tris + core #1. Excellent workout. Short and sweet. ;) My chest and shoulders (and back) are super sore from Wednesday's burn sets workout, so I struggled a little this morning with the tricep pushups. Well, okay i'll confess I always struggle with tricep pushups, I just struggled more than usual, lol! But that's okay. Something to work towards right?

Wendy: Nice combo yesterday! It sounds super intense. Are you ready to lunge lunge lunge? :p;) What did you think about Tabatacise? According to my revamped workout schedule for the month, it might be a few weeks before I get to that one. :( Thanks for the heads up on the Combat DVDs! Hopefully i'll be able to get that series in the next month or two. Yay!

Hello Ladies. :)

Today was a rest day from the Combat rotation but b/c my w/e away messed up my schedule a bit I was still due for a work out so this is what I did...

X-Train Cardio Leg warm up.
100 rep hip thruster challenge with a 20# bb off a stability ball b/c I found the step to be extremely awkward.
100 walking lunges holding a set of 5# db's.
Cardio Stretch and Strenthen 42 min yoga only premix.

My azz was a little burny from y'day's lunges today already. Can't imagine the fiyah I'll be feelin' tmrw now!

Thinkin' of doing to 100 rep bicep challenge tmrw along with my regular work out! Anyone care to join me!? :D

Katie:: Sounds to me like you need to do a 100 rep tricep push up challenge in order to get better at them my dear! ;) *insert evil laugh here* Great work out for you! I enjoyed Core #1 when I did it y'day. Can't wait to see what's in store in Core #2 one of these days! YES, I am sooo ready to be lunging my little short legs off girly! LOL I am already thinking ahead to next month though and that my challenge needs to move around to the inner thighs! Mine have always been too jiggly for my taste! NP on the Combat info/review. I hope you like it as much as me when you get it! :)

It's Friday! Yay! It's my rest day but I still wanted to pop in and say "Hello". :) Tomorrow i've got my first "punch" class at the new gym i'm trying out. I'm kinda nervous. It's kickboxing, which I love, but it's real boxing/kickboxing, i.e. wrapped hands, boxing gloves, and a huge hanging bag.:eek::eek: I'll let you know how it goes!

Wendy: Are you freaking kidding me?? A 100 rep tricep pushup challenge?!??! I would die!! Wow, that was dramatic. LOL! Actually, you're 100% right. I should do that. I just hate tricep pushups so much, which I why I should do a challenge like that.:p;) Are you are legs feeling this morning? Sore I presume. ;) If I hadn't just worked biceps yesterday I would have gladly done the 100 rep bicep challenge with you today! I'm eager to try out a few of those...just not sure how i'm going to do them along with STS.

Hola Chicas!:)

My work out is done.

XTrain Disc 2 warm up and 100 rep bicep challenge
50 walking lunges
Combat 60

Good stuff!:D

Katie:: Hope your class is fun! Have you tried Hard Strikes from XTrain yet? I haven't but I'm dying to! I don't want to skip any of the Combat work outs though so I'm not sure where to fit it in. Hmmmm.....Maybe I can add on a short premix to my work out the next time my rotation calls for Combat Kickstart 30. You really need to get Combat. Sounds like it'll be right up your alley as a fellow kickbox/boxing lover! :) Ok ok, don't do a 100 rep challenge for tricep push ups but do a tricep push up challenge the same way I am doing my lunge challenge. Do some every day b/c practice makes perfect you know! ;)

Hello Ladies!! :)

Wednesday's workout was Burn It Up & Thursday's was JM Body Rev Workout # 11, which was great!!, & 90 walking lunges without weights. That's 45 per leg.

Wendy: So what weight are you using for the 100 rep bicep challenge? Great workout by the way!

Katie: I know you'll love your class, I love punching an actual bag!!

Happy Saturday Morning Glories!:)

I am a bit sore in the upper body from y'day's work out but the lower is ok so I think I need to do LOTS of lunges today! ;)

IIRC the rotation calls for Combat Power HiiT and the Stretch dvd. I will ofcourse do more lunges (hoping for 150 this time!) and if I have time maybe the triceps extension 100 rep challenge!:D

Wiggie:: Wow you really mix it up every day! I love that! Great way to keep the body guessing! ;) OMG do I really have to admit my weight for the bicep challenge? They are for sure my weakest link...I used 10#. Seriously. That's it! I probably could've gone a bit heavier but not a whole lot! I will give 15# a go next time and see what happens. Hey, maybe that's a good goal-to keep upping the weight in these challenges and see how far I can go and still complete them! *scrambles for pen and paper to write down weight loads* Guess I gotta start keeping track now! Thanks for the idea! LOL :D Nice job on the walking lunges! Glad you are joining me!:)

K, time for breakfast! BB after my work out!

Ok my work out is done and I barely survived it! TOUGH ONE today but I did it!!!!:D

Warm up from XTrain Bi's and Tris
100 rep triceps extension challenge with 5# DB's
150 walking lunges with 8# DB's (up in reps AND weight! OUCHEES!)
Combat Power HiiT
Combat Stretch and Strengthen

All totaled it took 90 minutes. Awesome work out! :)

Good Morning. :)

Well my triceps are all fired up but I'll tell ya, still no darned fiyah in the lower body!! WTH!?! I guess it's time to try one of the X-Train lower body work outs! That should do the trick right? ;) So which one shall I try...cardio leg or the regular leg work out?

Today's work out plan is Combat 60 as per the rotation plus lunges and/or an X-Train leg premix depending on how much time I have. If I can't get the leg w/o done today then I will definately do it this week! :) Heading to mom's this afternoon for a visit and dinner so I won't have tons of time to work out after Church today...

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'll be back....

Good morning!!

Fridays workout was Fire 45, Saturday was HIIT Pyramid & Sunday was Crossfire Less Impact premix, really enjoyed that one!!

Wendy: I'm going to blame Bailee for not doing my walking lunges this weekend!!:p I think 10lbs is quite enough for 100 bicep curls, good job! 90 minute workout? You are serious about getting rid of those holiday lbs, with workouts like that they don't stand a chance!! :D No doms yet? Your lower body is really strong for such a tiny lady!!

Have a great day!! :)

Good Morning Glories. :)

Ok so I ditched Combat y'day in order to try XTrain Legs after all y'day. I loved the work out! Used the weights Cathe used. Definitely felt the burn! I am sore but it's minimal...Afraid to up the weights next time though b/c I was seeing stars as it was!!!!!:eek::eek:

Today's work out is back to Combat with Combat 60, walking lunges and maybe another 100 rep challenge. I only have the two shoulder challenges left to try but I'm a bit nervous to add them on to Combat b/c so much of this rotation is shoulder intensive already! Not sure if I should wait on those and just start back with the thrusters again....decisions decisions!:p

Wiggie:: Nice work outs! :D TY re the compliment but tell that to my burning muscles when I am actually DOING all of that lower body work!!! I know I would get DOMS if I really upped the weights but because I am working lower body every day I don't want to go that heavy. I'm thinking of it as Freestyle training where you do lots of reps several days a week using lighter weights. Helps to slim down the area which is what I am aiming for...not looking to build strength right now...:)

BBL!

Morning!

Saturday I did my first Punch class at the gym near my office. LOVED IT!!! True "Rocky" style. I was pouring sweat and gasping for air half way through the class. To me, that's a sign of a good class! ;):p I started Meso 2 yesterday with Disc 13 (chest, shoulders, and tris). I'm so happy to be done with all those pushups in meso 1. This morning I did Disc 14 (legs) + abs. Those trisets are killers! Loved the burn. I'm excited to give Super Cuts a try so I think i'm going to go ahead and do Disc 15 tomorrow. That way I can take Wednesday off and be ready for Super Cuts on Thursday.

Wendy: Sorry to leave you hanging this weekend! XTrain Legs is no joke. Cathe doesn't use more than 8#s the entire workout and yet she can make your legs burn like crazy. :D;) Hmmm, i'd be careful not to overwork your shoulders. Just my opinion, though. :) Your Saturday workout sounds insane! I need to remember that one for the future. :p;) I'm nervous to try the 100 rep challenges...but i'm going to try to do one this weekend. Now which one to choose....

Wiggie: Exellent workouts this weekend. Working that HiiT training I see. ;) HiiT Pyramid is a favorite of mine. I think it's because I don't have to drag out any equipment. ;):D Did you do your walking lunges today missy? :p;)

Hello Ladies. :)

Just finished my work out...I did part of the XTrain Cardio Legs w/u, the 100 rep scarecrow challenge and Combat 60 Live which is different from the Combat 60 I've been doing. Confusing, I know!:p Anyway, the rotation doesn't call for Live for another week but I wanted to try it so I subbed it in for the other 60m w/o today. EXCELLENT work out! I think it's my fave!:D After Combat I did 100 walking lunges with 5# DB's and last but certainly not least the much needed Extended STS Stretch! Aaaaahhhhhhh! :)

Katie:: So glad you loved the class! Sounds like something I would love as well! You are going to LOVE Combat! I just know it! :D I used only 3# db's for the scarecrow challenge and then did NOT use weighted gloves for the Combat work out. Seemed to work out ok but I will wait to do the other shoulder challenge until after I've cycled through all of the others again so as not to over-do it. :) Thanks re Saturday's work out. Power HiiT is crazy intense if you use the right weight!!! You should love Super Cuts. Can't wait to hear your thoughts! I am still debating when to do an X-Train rotation and which one to choose so in the meantime I will try all of the work outs as I can to see what they are like. It should atleast help me decide which roation I want to try first.

Good morning All!!

Monday's workout was STS of course & this morning 70 walking lunges(while at work). I think I'm going to take a break from STS & go back to Les Mills Pump. I never lose when I do STS & I need to lose 2-3 lbs. Full body weights work best for me when I'm trying to lose.

Wendy: So glad you're loving Xtrain!! I can at least join you for the 100 rep challenges, they sound like fun. I liked Combat 60 live alot also. Actually I like all the combat workouts. Lol re the burning, I feel the burn when I'm doing walking lunges & I'm not holding weights!! I do go very deep to compensate, I'm hoping that will also help with flexibility.

Katie: So you're loving that punching class? I knew you would. I am glad those pushups are over too, even though I did much better. I need to work on tricep pushups, they are so hard!! I can do them now but like you, I can't go as deep. I agree about HIIT Pyramid, that is the reason I picked that one.

'Talk" to you later!! :)
