STS Body Rockers (formerly STS New Years Challengers) Week of July 3rd!!

Hi there everyone! I did a truly light cardio workout today - it was Ellen Barrett, Barefoot cardio - lots of stretching involved with the light cardio moves. thank you all for all the encouragement with the weight loss:)

Tracy - That's awesome - 2 dress sizes! Great job! That dress is really pretty! Great job on disc 27! And the BR workout too! You are on fire!

Kiki - So glad you had fun on the RT! How was your ankle?

Wendy - Wow - great workout today again for you! And loving the fire in the legs from the Plyo yesterday! You really are motivating me - great great job:)

Katie - Woohoo on Disc 26! I love hearing about the workouts of my future:) Great job getting back into it after vacation! That's not easy to do.

Bridget - You have a lot going on! Wow, boards, new job, a reunion and vacation! Great job on getting in disc 7 and the spin class too!

Have a great evening everyone!

Kris

Did STS-8 this morning, also a 5pm spin class. I have been unsatisfied with the tubing options for chinups & pullups, so I skipped them, and after spinning, I found the machine at the Y that does assisted chinups & pullups and did a set of 12 each- and that was a big difference from the tubing- and they got my HR up too.

Katie- every summer we go on a family reunion in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY- my 4 brothers, their wives, kids and my parents for a week. It is a great time to reset, for the cousins to play- and fight- with each other, and to reconnect.

Kris- I saw the dust storms in Phoenix and thought of you. Everything okay?

Wendy- I had a Janis Saffel VHS - CIA something from a long time ago. Nice to know she's still around!

Kiki- the trip sounds fabulous! I love the pictures, did you feel like you could keep up with the group?

Tracy- the dress looks stunning, congrats on losing 2 dress sizes, you will be a knockout mother of the groom at the wedding!

Ladies! OK, sorry for being a bit short yesterday, I think I was still trying to wrap my mind around being back home, lol :p. So, some things about the road trip:

*As I said before, there were many women who w/bods that were OUTTA-THIS-WORLD-PERFECT  (of course, Amanda, being one of them - OMG!!! if you think she looks good on the videos, it is UNREAL to see that bod in real life - I even had to close DH's jaw a time or two , and he's usually rather good about not sneaking peaks at other ladies...or at least at not getting caught! :p)

*My ankle , the bane of my RT existence  . I took it as easy as could be expected (after all, I did have "Nurse Autumn" giving me that look - and telling me not to go overboard), but I did push myself on occasion, because I WAS NOT about to sit out the ENTIRE RT!! That's just crazy talk! So I rested when I absolutely needed too, and then pushed through the other times. Because everyone else was getting their butts kicked when I was sitting it out, I was sure to give it my all when I participated. Because of this, I did feel that most of the time, I was able to keep up (but this is partially because although I was "playing w/pain", so were the others that were pushing through the DOMS that they rec'd during the w/o's that I didn't do, KWIM?)

*The dreaded STEP - well imagine my utter delight when I first entered the room and saw all the steps set up for the first w/o, w/only 1 riser per step. Seriously, I was elated :D that I wouldn't feel like too much of a loaf...when I took that riser and threw it to the side, lol :p. Turns out that since you're gonna be doing 187 w/o's in like a 36 hour period, Cathe does insist that everyone pace themselves. Even she only uses one riser. That was good to know (although there were a few people who still didn't quite grasp the "pace yourself" motto that Cathe kept repeating, and went around grabbing the extra risers that people like me weren't using - BOY I bet they felt it after the Lower Body w/o, lol) By the last w/o Cathe was suggesting (to the dwindling # of ppl that made it that far, lol) to go down to just the platform, because, it was all that most ladies could do to even stand at that point.

*As for me being a wallflower, really, I am!! At least until I get to know people. I warned Autumn of this ahead of time, and I remember about an hour into the first dinner, she looked across the table at me, and was like, "DANG, girl! You are quiet!" Idk, I guess I just get transported to my school days, when I used to go to a new school, EVERY YEAR  . I so hated being the new girl, all the time, and feeling like I was on someone else's turf. And during the first dinner, I was at a table w/quite a few vet RTers, and just kinda felt the same way. I'm sure that no one was trying to be cliquish, but it just kinda happens naturally, ya know? And I was sitting in the middle of them, while they kinda talked over my head to each other  , I suppose it was just bad placement on my part...

Well, I was just looking at the latest newsletter, and noticed that more pics were posted on flickr, so I'm off to check 'em out. I sure hope they're better than those facebook pics, where everyone looked all greasy, and washed out  (some of which were during dinner - after we were all showered and fresh! IDK what that was all about, the lighting was horrible! :p )

ETA: Ooohh! The flickr pics are so much better/clearer! That's the RT that I remember ;), I suppose that's why there were multiple camera people, lol (I remember that particular camera had a monster flash on it, which was sorely needed in that dark room!). But it looks like only pics of the first class are up so far.

And now, for personals... ;)

Well, the rest of this week (at least) will be an un-official rest week for me. I have no more desire to push myself into making my Achilles worse than it is. So I am just taking it easy, kicking my feet up (literally), and may do some core/stretching at most. Of course, it is extremely difficult to do this immediately after an RT, but it has to be done ;) . During this time, I will probably be ordering a truckload of kickboxing DVD's and setting my step on fire  (just kidding...kinda :p ). Hopefully next week, I'll be starting my S&H/4DS rotation that I planned to start this week.

Tracy: The dress is awesome, and way to go on the 2 dress sizes! Gotta love that feeling! I can't believe that you're almost done w/STS, any idea of what you're gonna do after? Let us know how the double STS legs go for you. I'm finally purchasing SRL, and plan to do them on this next round of STS, but I'm wondering if maybe I'll wanna double up, too. My last 2 rounds I did Plyo (which I really like, its just not M3 style to me - I love the cardio/interval kinda feel to it, though:confused: ).

Bridget: That's awesome that you found a way to get those pullups in! They are COMPLETELY different (and a heck of lot more challenging/satisfying) than the band pulldowns (to me, at least!)

Katie: Glad you had fun on your trip! Last year when we did the big beach house w/my fam (11 bedrooms - 30 PEOPLE!) in OBX, everyone chipped in for groceries, and planned the meals. They were definitely not healthy  ! I mean, I kept a few personal snacks in my room, to try to offset the madness, but, even still...it got a little crazy  . Felt like I spent the next month working it off, lol....:p (PS, I gotta love your detective skills @ searching out me and Autumn, you're a sneaky one  - must be that whole lawyer thing that makes you seek out all the evidence, lol. ;) Although I gotta say....ummm how hard would it be to NOT figure out who I am  ?! ROFL)

Kris: Your weight loss is so inspiring! And that's just M1  , you're gonna be smokin hot by the end of STS! I, too found that the more muscle I put on, the happier I was w/my weight being a little higher than I would've imagined being content w/.

Wendy: You would have been so proud of all that core work Cathe made everyone do! Even the "stretch" workout was very core intense! We were all in agreement that we were more sore from that, than the workout prior to it! LOL All me and Autumn could say is "at least we can report to Wendy that we worked our abs :p " So you're finally finishing up STS (what's it been anyway, like A YEAR?! :p )

This morning I did Disc 27. Loved the challenge! Prior to starting STS I heard mixed reviews about Meso 3 but so far i'm loving it.

So today was just one of those crazy workout mornings. My cat (Lizzy) would not leave me alone. She was constantly jumping up on my step, in my chair, rubbing my ankles, etc. Except for batting my hair like crazy during ab exercises, she usually leaves me alone when I workout. Anyway, so i'm doing bicep curls and Lizzy is of course laying on my step (which I have out for tricep work). Right in the middle of the bicep curls, Lizzy lays over on her back seeking attention and proceeds to roll off the step. For some reason I find this hilarious, start giggling, and then have to stop the curls because i'm laughing so hard my form is shot to heck. Repeat bicep curls. :) Shortly thereafter, i'm doing tricep work laying down on the step. During the first set of triceps, I notice my arms are shaking after rep 3 and i'm failing out at rep 6/7. In true Katie fashion, i'm starting to get annoyed with myself. However, on the next set of tricep work, I have no problems getting to rep 8 (I mean, it's still tough, but I can complete all the reps with good form). So then I spend the next 1-2 minutes trying to figure out what the difference was (while the workout proceeds - rewind) and suddenly I realized I left my weighted gloves on during the first set of triceps (I use the weighted gloves during biceps). That extra 1-2 pounds made a huge difference. Fast forward to the "3rd inning" and i'm again doing tricep work (cross body kickbacks) laying down on the step. I haven't been getting to bed as early as I like and i've been really tired in the mornings. After the second or third set of tricep work (I can't remember exactly), I just lay on the step, close my eyes, and proceed to snooze for about 3 minutes. I mean, WHO DOES THAT DURING A WORKOUT? Of course, during the next round of cross body kickbacks I proceed to knock myself in the head with the weight because i'm not concentrating properly. No harm done to my head...just my pride. :)

By the time I got to the end of the workout I just thought to myself, "what the heck was that all about." LOL

Kiki: WELCOME BACK!!! I'm glad to hear you had a great time at the roadtrip! I've really enjoyed reading/hearing all your thoughts on the RT. It sounds exhausting! :) Great job kicking butt on those step workouts!! I knew you were gonna rock 'em. :p It completely sucks that your Achilles decided to act up right before/during the roadtrip. Definitely take it easy this week. After all the RT workouts you need/deserve a break! I love the Flicr pictures of the RT! You're right they are much better than the ones on Facebook. Awwww I hate that we are losing Autumn. She's such an integral part of the check-in. But I understand too - she seems so busy right now with the new little one and all. We'll definitely miss her! Yeah the eating on vacation was off the hook. I think I gained a pound (or two). It amazes me how it takes ONE week to gain a pound and then THREE weeks to lose the damn thing. So, here are the million dollar questions :p: (i) was the RT worth the money and (ii) did you like it enough that you would consider attending another one?

Wendy: OMG girlie I COMPLETELY understand now when you said your azz was on fire from plyo legs! Mine is too!! Usually I get DOMS in my quads/hamstrings but plyo legs did a number on my bootay. So far Meso 3 is rocking. :p

Bridget: Great job with Disc 8 AND spinning!!! I hear ya on the sucky tubbing. I don't have access to a gym and can't afford the tower and I definitely thought I wasn't working my back hard enough with the tubbing. Major props to you for not taking the easy way out!

Kris: I love Ellen Barrett! I did a couple of her workouts during my rest week b/w Mesos 1 and 2. I know most of Ellen's workouts are really easy but I always enjoy them so much! Are you getting excited about Meso 2?

Tracy: CONGRATS on the 2 dress sizes! I'm kind of a JCrew junkie and I know that a size 8 in a JCrew dress is serious business!!! I usually wear a larger size in JCrew than say Lands End, etc. You should be very proud of yourself - all that hardwork is definitely paying off! That dress is gorgeous BTW. I love the dusty pink color. Very classy yet feminine and soft. Smart move waiting on it to go on sale. Almost everything at JCrew goes on sale eventually. You're going to look smashing at your son's wedding!

Katie: Considering that I picked one of the MOST expensive RTs to go on. It's a little harder to justify the price, lol. But I think the $$ of say, the NJ RT is well worth the cost. If you're participating in everything that the RT has to offer, it's worth your while. If you're a hermit like me, or someone that doesn't plan on participating in all of the classes....idk, it seems like you kinda miss the main point of the RT, the camaraderie. I would think, though, that the more you go, the more fun it would be, if that makes any sense. Because you'd have those first time jitters outta the way, and you'd actually know some people, going in to it....

Also, from what I've heard from some veteran RTers, whenever there's an audition, a couple things happen. 1) it ups the tense factor for until the auditions are over (many people holding back on enjoying food/desserts/fun, to stay in particular shape, & just plain stressing over how they'll do) and 2) it brings w/it those "uber-fit" chicks (you know the ones that do fitness/bodybuilding shows for a living) that make the "regular-fit" chicks feel like  .

So there were a lot of things to consider about this particular RT, I still don't quite now how I feel, lol.

Good Morning Ladies.

Today was STS D36 (SBT), straight up. :) I didn't even do any ab work! Only D34 and 35 left to do this weekend and then I am DONE! :D:D:D

The work out was interesting. I was able to get through all sets of the first 3 exercises using the proper weight and doing all 8 reps each time. 2nd round of 3 exercises were great too except for one exercise that I failed slightly early on just one time. That last round though? OMG, it was pathetic!:rolleyes: I was failing all over the place at 5-6 reps for 2 out of the 3 exercises while the one exercise went flawlessly and I probably could have even gone a bit heavier. Go figure!

Kiki:: Glad you enjoyed the roadtrip to some extent atleast. I am a shy wall flower type too in situations like that so I totally understand where you are coming from. It was hard for me to go on the one RT I attended. I had a good time but it wasn't my cup of tea in many ways due to my personality. I considered the Disney RT though so I guess I would obviously consider going on another one despite everything I just said! LOL A YEAR spent doing STS!? Bite your tongue missy! LOL It's actually taking 6.5 months which is funny since I was doing the 5.5 month rotation! :p

Katie:: OMG you had quite the work out issues this morning! The Lizzy story was too funny! I was picturing her rolling off the step as I read it! My dog has rolled off our bed in similar fashion so IKWYM!:p:D I've forgotten to take my weighted gloves off or take the weights out before so I feel you on that one too. One time I loaded or unloaded (I forget which) my BB unevenly for biceps curls so my weak side was rockin and my strong side was failing. It made perfect sense when I finally realized what I had done!;)

Bridget:: I never liked the tubing as a chin/pull up sub either. I tried it during my P90X rotation and it's what prompted me to get a door gym way back when.

Kris:: Glad you find me motivating. Atleast my pain and agony is serving a dual purpose now!:p:D;)

Tracy:: So I presume you bought the fanciest GymBoss Timer right? I may have to splurge for the updated version soon myself!;) I am dying to do another BR work out but I think I need to be good now until after STS is complete and I get through my recovery week! Gonna be hard to resist though! :p The dress you will wear for the wedding is very pretty! I love it! :) Good job dropping 2 dress sizes! That's awesome!

Good morning. This morning I did STS squat rack disk 37. It was good and I am pretty sure I will have DOMS tomorrow...but I did not like it as well as Plyo legs 26...I still think they were great....sorry to harp on this fact:D

Idk if I will do anything else today...I am thinking I might do a 20 mi. ride this evening as my girls are leaving this morning for g-ma's for 6 days, but we'll see about that.

Katie: I laughed and laughed all by myself this morning as I read your post about falling asleep (for cryin' out loud ) when you were working out...that is like from some funny movie or something! And then also when you hit yourself with your weight doing the tricep cross-body extension.. which is sthg I did too. Then your cat...it was too much!!!:D My dog, Lucy knows when I am done working out because I slow down or lay on the floor for stretches and she likes to come over and lick the sweat off me...euwwww... I'm nice and salty!! euww....

fit mommy: you are almost done with STS!! woo hoo! and boo-hoo:( are you going to leave too? Actually I just bought their regular 19.95 Gymboss...it is different than the old one. I wasn't aware there was a fancy one...and anyway, it would probably be wayyyy too advanced for me...I can barely turn on our tv correctly and sometimes, that does not turn out so well:confused: But the BR workouts are addicting and fun... but it is difficult to work them in while doing the STS series...I must admit... I would love to do the one they posted yesterday...but it looks pretty legs intensive and the squat rack may have done them in for today.

kiki: did you end up auditioning? So, uber-fit people came to the RT simply to be able to audition? I think if I went to an RT and they had an audition, and I was fit enough...I would not audition...I would not want the stress. I am gettin' too old for that. I like serene oblivion which is what I feel like I live in most days  But for those who can take the pressure....go for it! So "Autumn" is not her real name? she's working under an alias? That is very clandestine.

bridget: I was totally unsatisfied with the tube option. In fact, I was so unsatisfied with it, I threw the bloomin' tube away, vowing "never again"! Granted, that might have been a bit dramatic, and I have not heretofore disclosed this info., but that is what I did. I then also formulated a way to do modified pull-ups until I got my STS tower.

kris: I have never done Ellen Barrett! We all need a light day here and there!

TYVM for all of your encouraging words about the dress and dropping the sizes. I appreciate your encouragement and all of you!

Tracy:: Yes Plyo is more FUN. I must agree with you there but I've heard many say that SRL is more effective in defining the legs which is why I chose it. I would have seen it through if not for my lack of sleep as of late. BR can definitely be hard to work into an STS rotation which is why I am going to lay off until I finish mine + the recovery week. I don't want to delay this rotation any further! I'm already a month behind in finishing! :p Nope- you are not getting rid of me that easily! :p Me and Kiki are hangin around coz come mid September we are starting a modified STS rotation together!!!! Or atleast thats the plan as of now! Even if we weren't, I'd probably still linger just to socialize with y'all...wether you liked it or not! :D LOL

Tracy: No, I did not audition. After all, who wants to sit next to Amanda on a spin bike? or anywhere else for that matter, lol. Yep, the uber-fit's went for there's while ya girl kicked her feet up! :p And this was a "low attendance" RT, I can't even fathom how many people will be auditioning in NJ . I used to act (as in commercials, that sorta thing) back in the day, and I suppose I'm just over the whole "auditioning" phase of my life? Or maybe I just wanna be? IDK, even the word "audition" gets me all crazy, and I just wanted to be able to enjoy myself w/o the stress of it all. As I first considered it, cuz I really wanted to, but then I had to remind myself that it would probably spark some crazy flame again, causing me to want to seek out things to "audition" for, lol...and I didn't need that  . I know, it sounds pathetic right?

Wendy: Yes, we are still on for our modified STS! I'm looking forward to it, and trying to find things to fill in the time until then!

kiki: does NOT sound pathetic at all...but all too...ME!!! When I get on a roll, I have to watch out because I will knock down all obstacles and I get super stressed and have heart palpitations because of all my adrenaline! Now that IS pathetic....that is why...serence oblivion is my goal :p. Otherwise I am on the road to obsession-ville and I am going FAST! Which helps for my fitness...but not for living a calm life.

Tracy: Exactly!!! I get all crazy focused, which is good in some things, but it can be to my detriment @ times, lol (case in point - learning how to step at the expense of NOT even being able to when it counted! ROFL) I'll ignore my family, and do whatever it takes to reach my goals. Which is why I chose to step away when I did, because my family life was starting to suffer because of me pursuing my "dreams." I figure, the dreams will still be there (as will the memories of all that I did do), but the time that I got w/my family was priceless (and was dwindling fast!) ;). I haven't regretted it. But I have to watch out for the little voice in my head that was about to tell me otherwise, lol.

It's always pretty hilarious when I talk to someone from back in the day who finds out what I do now (homeschooling SAHM), the look on their face is usually one in a million because it's SO far from who I was, lol. And every now and again I get that person that tells me how I'm a disappointment/waste of talent  , etc (usually family members  ), but they'll get over it! :p

Hi everyone - I did 4 DS KB cardio this a.m. Planned to do Coremax, but didn't do it yet and now DH is home, so probably will add it on to my plan tomorrow:) I start Meso 2 Saturday:) Yay! I miss the weights!

Kiki - thanks for the RT insight! I am quiet at first too, so I can imagine how uncomfortable it would be to begin with anyway. Sorry your ankle was still hurting through the RT :( Take care of yourself for a recovery week, sounds like a good idea. Hopefully that will help that ankle heal and you can kick butt when you get into S&H/4DS plan you have:) Glad you're staying around :) That's horrible that anyone would say it's a disappointment or anything else negative about what you're doing with your life - homeschooling/SAHM sounds like a great plan (and nothing harder I have no doubt).

Katie - Great job on Disc 27! I'm laughing about your workout this a.m. - I can relate - my cat exercise partner sometimes really "helps" me too - pulling my hair etc... lol. I love Ellen Barrett too - I started doing some of her workouts when I was on vacation last year, she was on Fit TV I think - it was an upstairs place we were staying at, so a little lower impact was a good thing - but it felt good working out - and the stretching she includes throughout the workout was great:)

Wendy - yay on disc 36 and only 2 more STS to finish up your rotation! Wow - great job! :) Glad you're staying around too!

Tracy - Awesome job on Disc 37! :) If you got your bike ride in, hope it was good:)

Bridget - I hear you with the tubing. I ended up ordering the Tower, it feels a lot more effective. That's great that you used the pull up machine at the gym:) Yeah, that dust storm was crazy - looked like something out of the mummy! We are NW of Phx and actually it dissipated before it got to us, but the pictures are amazing (and kind of eerie).

Good Morning and TGIF ladies! :D

This morning's work out was 20 mins of jump rope + Med Ball Ab Circuits. I used my GYM BOSS TIMER to count out 20 intervals of 1 minute each and every time it beeped I switched my jumping style (both feet, alt feet, hi knees, butt kicks, bell hop, bunny hop, etc). A minute has never felt so long before! LOL I don't have/can't use a jump rope in my house because I don't have enough room so I had been using nothing but then I remembered that I have a "fake" jump rope called a Jump Snap so I pulled it out. Makes a big difference for the upper body. WOW! Used my 8# med ball + my 2# set of weighted gloves for abs. Great work out for only 30 mins!!!!!!:)

WW weigh in basically showed no change. Down .2 y'day, up .2 today so I figure I broke even and that's fine considering the weekend I had!

Kris:: I lurve 4DS KB. Do you use weighted gloves for kickboxing? If you don't, you need to try it! ;)

Kiki:: I'll be starting a Body Rock rotation after my final STS recovery week is complete. Since you are looking for things to do to fill your time until STS begins I think you should come along for the ride and do BR with me!:)

TGIF ladies! No workouts for me (well I did do SM and abs from HR yesterday, but it feels like it doesn't count, lol) - it's SO hard trying to take it easy , but I know I need it. I may get in some more abs/stretching today, but that's only after I get over my anger. DH offered for me to watch my EX BIL (used to be married to SIL for like a few years, like 5 yrs ago, not even my own sis) and his new wife's dog for A WEEK while they go outta town. He tells me THIS MORNING that she's coming by @ 10am to drop the dog off w/all his belongings  (mind you we have 2 dogs of our own), and then looks at me like I'M the crazy one when I got a little ticked off about the situation. "It's only a week. You're making a big deal outta nothing..." AS HE WALKS OUT THE DOOR TO WORK ALL DAY.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW THIS STINKING DOG, lol (as in NEVER met)! Seriously?!

Anyway.....

Wendy: Wowza!!! on the BR w/o. We used to have a jump rope that I bought for our home gym, but I think at some point DS ended up using for some contraption or other that he built in the backyard . I need to look into getting another one, or maybe that Jump snap, what the heck is it anyway, lol :p ? I think I might look into adding in some BR workouts here and there over the next month or so (after this recovery week is over).

Hey gang,

I did STS-9 legs yesterday, and my gosh did she hurt me! I had to go down on my weights, and I was trembling at the end. I woke up early this morning for spin class, and was still hurting- didn't bother going to the gym for my obligatory chin & pull-ups afterward. This is the first time in STS I have had that shaking legs, cannot do no more feeling.

Hey- do you guys do the extra "bonus" legwork at the end of the legs workouts? Are you supposed to???

I start my final week of Meso-1 on Saturday- a little early, I have to finish by Wednesday, my life will become nutty afterward for the next 10 days or so...

Kiki- I'm loving the new Avatar- or did you always have it and I am slow to notice??? You look uber-fit to me! I would never audition for that spinning workout- I am not a pretty site when I spin, but it is a great workout...I look forward to hearing how the dog works out!

Autumn- I will miss having a nurse practitioner colleague on the checkin- but I totally understand the time commitment.

Katie- I have a little chihuahua-mix dog who likes to pester me during workouts. I have poison sumac exposure on the back of my right calf, and yesterday he was licking my sore while I was doing dead lifts- Ernie!!! and like Tracy's dog, he licks the sweat off of me. Now that's love!

Tracy & Kiki the obsession with getting to a goal is so me, I just finished grad school while working full time (and husband was unemployed for a year until last March)- it's a wonder I still have a marriage and my daughter still loves me! I look forward to having my life back again...

Wendy- no movement in WW after a holiday weekend is a win!

Kris- fortunate the dust storms missed you- I heard it knocked out power- Phoenix is not where you want to be in July with the AC out!

Bridget

Kiki:: Watch out-BR is addicting!!!! Just ask Tracy! She'll tell ya!;) A Jump Snap is an electronic gadget that you use in place of a jump rope. It's basically 2 handles with a short string and ball attached to the end of each handle that are supposed to mimic the action of a jump rope when you make that motion w/o actually have a full rope in your hand. The electronic part allows for it to make noise with every revolution of the "rope" and it keeps track of rope rotations, cal burn, etc. Here's the website...https://www.jumpsnap.com/?x=bab&gclid=CI38v-OA8qkCFZFS7AodlTshZA I wouldn't bother with it TBH though. If you can get a real rope, do it. If not, there may be cheaper, non electronic versions of what I have that will work just as well...if not better. I am sooo tempted to buy a cheap jump rope now to see if it can fit....maybe I am wrong!!!!!!! That would be wonderful if I was!!!!:D

Bridget:: oooooh Disc 9! The worst DOMS inducing STS disc in M1!!!!!:eek::eek: I didn't usually do the bonus leg work w/the regular work out b/c of time constraints but I tried to use them as part of my weekly extra leg work out. I don't think it's a big deal if you NEVER do them. If it were, they wouldn't be a BONUS. They'd just be a part of the regular work out so don't sweat it if you don't do it, I'd say!:)

On the road again... I just can't wait to get on the road again... ;).

I'm actually on the road home & thought I'd checkin :). I'll be back with personals & my RT reflections if I ever get home ;) Let me just say Kiki is GORGEOUS & so is her family!!! She rocked the step just fine. She was quiet in the larger groups but when we were in our small, "introvert club" group she was not. She most certainly could have auditioned!! Oh and she is so right about Amanda, who is perfection!!

I did pick Cathe's brain & shared my goals (wt. loss), limitations, etc. My plan is 4 kick my arse workouts per week plus clean eating. I'll checkin since y'all will put up with me ;), but my li'l Diva is starting to roll & is super close to crawling which will be keeping me busy.

Kiki ~ LOVE your profile pic!! Tried to change mine to Cathe, li'l Diva & me but can't from iPhone. :-/

Toodles..

Good Friday a.m. ladies!

I'm off today, yay! (off til Tuesday actually:D) I did Low impact circuit cardio blast premix this a.m. - woohooo - good sweat there for sure - really gave it my all:) Then did a CoreMax (no equipment one) and a StretchMax (the band one - my favorite). Getting ready for Disc 13 tomorrow - I'm ready for weights again.

Wendy - I have a Jump Snap too - I used it quite a bit for a while, then kind of tired of it, now use it occasionally just mostly for a little extra cardio here and there. I like the bit of weight to it, feel it in my arms like a real jump rope that has weighted handles. I didn't use the weighted gloves this time - thought of it about 3/4 through. I will make sure I try them next time - bet it makes a big difference! Great BR workout for you today - sounds like a looooong minute!

Bridget - yeah - Disc 9 was tough tough!!! Great job getting through it. So far, I've been doing the bonus leg sections, but if time were tight I would skip it. Phoenix is definitely not where you want to be in the summer without ac - our AC went out last July - while my poor parents were house/dog /cat sitting- it was out for 5 days (it was over 4th of July weekend and then they had trouble fixing it...) :(

Kiki - love love the new picture! :) You were one of the uber fit girls at RT! Hope the dog sitting works out:( (My poor husband - I offered for us to foster a rescue dog a few years ago - thought my hubby would disown me ) Glad you're taking it easy - I know what you mean though, it feels like you're not doing enough, but your ankle will heal up faster for sure if you take care of it.

Hi Katie and Tracy!

Have a great TGIF everyone! Off to Phoenix here shortly for some errands and running around.

Kris

Hi Autumn! How awesome to get to pick Cathe's brain! I tell you, I'd probably jump on one foot for 2 days if she told me to , she's so fit and inspiring! Glad you'll still be checking in here - I can only imagine how busy you are - it'll be great to hear from you just whenever you have time:)
