Step Blast: A Great Stress Reducer!

I did Step Blast last night and was reminded what a wonderful cardio workout this is. I had a bad day, got into a fight with my fiance, and didn't feel like exercising but knew the chocolate chip cookies I ate after the fight needed to be addressed.

I pulled Step Blast off the shelf. For a 50+ minute workout, this was perfect. The music picked up my spirits, the choreography kept me focused and cleared my mind, and when I was done I felt so much better! If you ever need a cardio lift, try Step Blast! Thanks, Cathe!

Yeah, Step Blast is a great workout. I used to do this (or a premix) 2-3 times a week. I haven't done it lately, but I keep wanting to get it out again.

This workout is one of my all time faves. Never used to be. The Blasts get easier and are actually fun.

I love this workout too and find a reach for it often! Like, Amy though, I still love Power Max and Rhythmic Step and others...those workouts are timeless! :)

i just did it this morning! totally agree, step blast and rhythmic step are my favorite cardio step dvds.

they are so much fun to do

I don't have this particular DVD, is the choreography very hard? I'm finally at the point where I can do Lo Max pretty easily and LIC without fumbling to bad. I still have but haven't done Body Max one or two. I came from the era when Jane Fonda was the queen of step so after discovering Cathe it's like starting over. Although I have to admit each time I master a new move I feel pretty good about myself.

I'll admit I found the choreography complex at first. I saw that as my challenge--to learn each of the three parts one by one. I had to pause and rewind quite a few times! But once I got it--especially the hitch kick into charleston--in one of the parts, I felt so happy and energized. Now that I know the routines, I just find them so much fun.

I wouldn't recommend Step Blast as your first Cathe workout, but it's definitely one to challenge you.

Ooooooooh, I LOVE Step Blast! The choreography is so fun, I finally learned all the tricky parts of combo 3, and I can actually DO all the blasts in the Challenge!! What's not to love? I miss it now that I'm doing 4DS and only do an extended cardio once a week. Step Blast defintely pumps up the endorphins!

I am such a geek, but here's how I learn most of Cathe's choreography: I take my laptop, the dvd I'm trying to learn, and I climb into bed and I watch it over and over and over and over again.... visualizing myself doing exactly what Cathe is doing. When I was married my ex used to complain that he couldn't concentrate on reading his book so I started using headphones to listen.

I'm a really slow learner, and would be scared to try a "live" class, but "practicing" visually several times before attempting a complex workout has cut my learning time down to practically nil. Which means I can still get a good workout doing the ones I know while I lie in bed at night learning my new dvds.

Alas, my dvd drive is broken on my laptop :( so I've had to resort to actually sitting on the sofa and watching on the tv. It's much better on the laptop: up close and personal and you can really see what they are doing with their feet!

Cheers!

I strongly believe I would be on anti depressants if I didn't discover the power of challenging cardio DVD's. I don't think I would have as strong of a cardio endurance from a treadmill.

Step Blast is enjoyable and you really don't realize how much your sweating till it's over and your crippled in the shower ;)
