Speaking of fashion rants....

I was in The Gap today looking for a spring jacket. You know the denim jackets that were "in" in the 80's with the stupid puffy, puckered shoulders are back? Ugh! There were some really cute jackets totally ruined by this. Nothing from the 80's should ever be revived. NOTHING!!!!

What about those AWESOME bike shorts that cut your leg off in the most awkward place and had a big neon stripe up the side?

UGH I've seen them too. They're everywhere! Not to mention the return of shoulder pads in suit jackets. People who work out do not need shoulder pads. I look like a linebacker w/those stupid things.

OK I'm searching my memory trying to think of something from the '80s I'd like to see come back. Underwear over clothes instead of under? Nah. Teased hair? Nah. Butt floss workout clothes? Please no! Leotards? NO!!!! Spandex mini skirts? A maybe on that one. They did look hot on the right people. Cowboy boots? Another maybe, only b/c I bought a really cute & expensive pair at the end of the trend & never wore them once, & actually still have them in my attic.

Maximus I thought of you the other day. I was flipping through the channels and a contestant on Wheel of Fortune was wearing a pink shrug over a black shirt. It looked horrible!

I have a couple pair of really nice cowboy boots from my "rocker" stage. I used to be told that I looked like Jon Bon Jovi's sister, cuz I had the same hair. I think he's prettier, though. I used to wear those cowboy boots over my jeans, with some sort of black shirt and huge cross earrings. Egads!

Those boots I've not had the heart to get rid of, even though I'm sure I'll never wear them again. I figured that maybe they could be used for Halloween sometime. Maybe I could dress up like Jon Bon Jovi's little sister! Of course, then I'd need to perm and frost my hair.

Ahhh, the 80's. Now there were some FUN times.

Please say it aint so!!!!!!!!! I always hated things with shoulder pads...OMG!! can't they invent something new in fashion these days... seesh!!

:) ;-) :D :p :9 :7 :+

I keep thinking of those stupid skintight designer jeans, too short, with the poofy ankle socks and heels. LOL

NO THANKS!

I was watching Footloose the other day and got a good laugh over the fashions and the hairdos. Lori Singer wears a pair of red cowboy boots and claims that "her daddy hates her boots". The fashion may have been terrible but the music was sure good:)

Was it in the 80's that the white washed out jeans were popular (not sure if that is a clear description)? I hope those don't come back.

Joanne

They were called stone washed jeans.

My favorite: mini skirts with leg warmers  and of course spike hair and lots of blush. sadly I was into this x(

Surely the makeup to go with the revived hair? My daughter looked at a photo of me and my sisters and wanted to know who the 'ho's were but she used the W ,the R, and the E. Once upon a time there was a decade called the eighties. It was a dark time in fashion....

yeah, stone washed or we called them Acid washed. How about Normandy Rose jeans, does anyone remember those? I see Converse shoes all over the place again now, I used to have a couple pairs of those. I don't know if they had these all over, but the cool thing to have here was a pair of Seattle Blues Jeans and A-Smile clothes.

Oh and taking the pant leg of your jeans, folding it over, and rolling them up a couple times. That looked great :7 I hope that never comes back:D

Ugh, I am cringing because I wore most of these fashions in the 80s. I went back and forth from typical cheesy (I color-coordinated my outfits in such a tacky way - white/turquoise top, turquoise pants and socks, with white shoes/turquoise shoelaces. Classy!) to a little more edgy (more Punk/New Wave, I guess).

Did anyone else wear blazer-like jackets that went down to your ankles? I think I modeled myself after the guys in The Cure. I had a paisley one that I can't believe my mom let me wear in public.

I went to a high-school were all of the kids were really preppy. I'm amazed no one teased me.
