something fun

So I am obviously either in a posting mood tonight or seriously wanting to up my count, but I thought it would be fun and beneficial, at least for me, to try and get to know more people here. I can still be shy and sometimes don't know what to say in responses to others' posts. Maybe we can do some kind of game like I'll ask a ? and then whoever responds will answer the ? and ask another; either for me or someone else. OR, maybe we could post questions to specific people that you want info from. I'm certainly free with the personal info. Anyway, just a thought.

Soooooooo...

1. For anyone, what is your best memory of childhood?

Favorite childhood

Christmas - when I was about 5 I got the Cabbage Patch Doll I wanted - those were hot commodities back then. Also, we always had 2 trees, lots of goodies - mom's choc covered cherries, and I swear when I was little, it always snowed on Christmas!!

To the next poster -

How/where did you meet your SO?

Nan

I met my SO(DH) as I was leaving McDonalds. He winked at me but I just kept walking. He later called me and we ended up speaking on the phone for hours and the rest is history. I was only 14 at the time. WOW!! That was a long time ago.

Question to the next post -

When did you begin your fitness journey and how?

I guess I began mine in college. I started taking some aerobics classes which continued on into weights. I've done Tae-bo, Slim in 6, Power 90, Turbo Jam but nothing has challenged me like Cathe. I found muscle I never knew I had!!! I also used to take step, kickboxing, spinning, and Body Pump classes at the gym.

Next: Biggest regret?

I began my fitness journey in February of 2001 when a friend of mine asked me to go to an aerobic class at our local YMCA. She didn't want to go alone. I weighed over 200 pounds and had never stepped foot inside a gym. I am maintaining an eighty pound weight loss and am now an instructor. DH says that I went from being the fat chick in the back row to leading the class.

What is the most endearing thing ever spoken to you?

Life changing moment...

When I had my first child. I never knew I could love someone so much or what it was like to see a whole new world through a child's eyes.

How long have you been out of High school?

My favorite vacation was to Jamaica where we stayed in Sandals Whitehouse. Gorgeous beach and romantic atmosphere;)

What is your favorite movie?

What is your favorite movie?

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. ;) Pure, honest, frivolous fun and humor. And I adore Kate Hudson.

I wish I would have known just how hard having kids can be. Especially special needs kids. I might have rethought the whole concept.

Next question?

Where is the most favorite place in the world to be? Be specific...

I wish I knew that time flies by, and that I need to just stop and enjoy the ride rather than trying to be perfect for everyone. At 40, I am still learning but getting better at it :) I have to remind myself to just "be." I also wish I knew what joy a child would bring to my life - I would have started sooner and had two, but the one I have is perfect ;)

Question - What would you do if you won $50 million in the lottery? I don't ever play myself, but like to dream!

Oops - got distracted during my posting by a cat knocking something over - next poster, guess you get to answer twice, like LaughingWater did-

The beach, without question. I love walking barefoot along the shoreline. It's very peaceful, and for some odd reason, it makes me very happy. When I'm on vacation, I get up to walk at 6am. The only people out there are people who love it like I do. :)

I don't play either, but I've thought about this anyway. After taking care of debt and contributing to 3 funds ~ college, caretaker, retirement ~ I would really like to carefully funnel the money towards 2 things: Our local food bank and a fund to help low income parents pay for well child and emergency health care for their children.

Name 2 people who inspire you.

Favorite band or musician? Probably Prince...I love so many its hard to pinpoint just one..

Question: Name one of your biggest pet peeves?

One of my biggest pet peeves is people who do all the talking when you're meeting them for the first time. They spend 2 hours with you over dinner, and they don't seem the slightest bit interested in getting to know you at all. Why do I always meet these types??

Next poster: what is one of your proudest achievements?

Favorite movie is a hard one. However, even though I haven't seen it yet, I feel like I can safely say "Sex and the City." :D Before that it was Tombstone.

Hokie I know but one of my proudest achievements is being a mother. I know I'm not the best mom in the world but I love my kids and treat them as my number one priority.
