So, what kind of car do you drive and why?

I drive a 2007 Toyota RAV4. I owned a Honda Civic before this and absolutely loved everything about the car to the point that I never thought I'd drive anything but a Honda. However, back in 2006, my husband and I were living in Germany (he is in the AF) and we were given an assignment to Alaska. My 10-year-old Honda Civic wasn't going to like the -40 temps in the interior of Alaska well, so we knew we needed to sell it and get something new.

We wanted something small yet something we could drive from Denver (where I'm from originally) to Alaska. We actually ended up finding a great deal on a RAV on the internet and placed a hold on it while we were still in Germany. I flew to Denver, test drove all kinds of small SUVs, and loved the RAV the best. One week later we were headed up the Alaskan Highway, the car loaded to the roof.

There aren't too many brand-new vehicles I would feel comfortable driving for 3500 miles, especially through empty northern Canada in early October (where we saw another car every once in a while but which was pretty darned deserted), but we had no problems then and haven't since. The RAV took us up to Alaska and brought us back down last summer when we moved to California. And the great thing is....it was a great vehicle in Alaska (handled the winters well), but it's also a great vehicle in sunny Southern California!

I love my RAV!

2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. As the saying goes....it's a Jeep! For my 40th birthday I got a 4 inch lift and bigger tires and rims. I make jokes all the time about gifting a "lift" for my 40th...but not the one most people think of. My husband just switched out my hard top for my soft top so I am all ready for Spring.
Funny thing is I teach at a school that goes all the way through high school and I make a lot of teenage boys jealous!
It's my second jeep and even though its not real quiet to drive, I love it!

Christine, my hubby JUST bought a used Honda Accord and he LOVES it!!! It's a 2007 with 12000 miles on it and he got it for about $19000. It's in perfect condition. We're planning to donate his old car -- a 1993 Volvo 850 that also looks like new. He took really good care of that car and it still runs great, he was just tired of it.

I drive a 1998 Tahoe. At the time we bought it I had 2 dogs that I carted with me everywhere I went. It's a gas hog but it runs so well, and like the Volvo, it's in excellent condition (we're OCD about maintenance).

2008 Toyota Rav 4- white...mom-truck...

Hubby - Corolla Sport

Gramma-Corolla/gramma style...

Goal, hybrid.....

My car is Figi-Blue pearl Honda Civic VP Sedan 2004 under 50,000 miles.
Best car I ever owned.
Second best care was my 1990 Toyota Corolla in Iced Blue Pearl, bought it with 19 miles on it and sold it with a 169019. miles on it.

I drive a 2007 Hummer H3. It's funny to me because I used to think Hummers were the ugliest things ever. One day, my husband and I decided we needed an SUV. We test drove the H3 and I loved it! I still don't know what possessed us to go try one. I'm glad we did. It is the only car I've ever had that I haven't gotten bored with and wanted a new one right away.

We bought the same vehicle! moved to Vegas 2 years ago and the first month we were here we saw a dozen HUGE wrecks and thought our vehicle was just not safe enough, so we opted for the TANK! I felt the same way as a friend had an H2 and I though it was the ugliest thing! I ended up giving my H3 to DH when his 1992 Jeep Cherokee finally took it's last gasp and died... I bought me a Ford F150 Lariet with almost all the bells and whistles (seat warmers, GPS/Nav system, leather, electronic everything and a sun/moon roof) and I LOVE my truck...

I'm a new car girl and have purchased a new car about every 3-4 years since I bought my first new Honda Civic in 1993! drove it for 5 years and LOVED that car, but they just keep getting bigger and bigger!

Honda Civic 2001 Coupe
1. I drive a lot for school so I needed something with good gas mileage
2. Affordable
2. Reliable
3. cute and sorta sporty

I am driving my dream car! :D

A black 2009 Mercedes CLK Sports Coupe.

It's beautiful and I love it.... those are the main reasons I drive it, but also because my child is grown and I no longer care for aging parents. It's just me and DH and we are having so much fun driving it!

I have a black 2008 Mercedes SL AMG 630 or whatever that number is.....it goes super fast, has Sirius radio and ROCKS! I love it.

However it does not fit my Newfie, he cannot jump, So Georgie gets the Caddy all to himself.;)

I was just out this weekend test driving new cars!

I'm currently driving a 2003 Black Honda Civic manual transmission. I have had no problems with it but i drive A LOT (i already have 200,000 km on it) so i'm starting to look at getting something new before i have any problems. I love Honda! I have my eye on the Honda Fit Sport right now.

I have a 2007 Salsa Red Toyota 4Runner. We do a lot of hiking, biking and kayaking so have racks for all our equipment that fit on my SUV. This is my 3rd 4Runner. My DH drives a 1994 Land Cruiser. We are a Toyota loving family!

I have a 2003 Subaru Forester, which I absolutely adore. I need a car with 4WD capability to get up to my house in the winter. I live on the base of a mountain at the end of a dirt road and snow and mud are an issue in the winter. I picked this one because of reliability and decent handling, though it is a car-base SUV. I have a 4 cylinder manual transmission, so it is peppy with decent gas mileage.

I'm in love with the cool cars a lot of you drive - can we say jealous?! haha. :p

For myself, I drive a 2002 Chevy Malibu, same as what someone else said. We bought it used in '04. It was the right price for us at that time. My husband is also a Chevy guy, so that went into our decision, too. We've had to put a ton of money into the car though - it's basically a dud. Now my DH and I are both in agreement that we're never buying Chevy again. So much for him being a Chevy guy!! ha! In 6 months to a year we'll be getting another family vehicle for the 4 of us, probably a van.

I'm actually looking forward to having a van -- I know, I know! I used to say I could never drive one, but compared to the Malibu it looks like a dream in terms of how much more comfortable it will be to take on out-of-town trips and hauling all the kids' crap, groceries, etc.

My DH drives a 1994 Plymouth Sundance Duster, which is actually my first car from high school. It still runs well, but looks nasty. We call it the "Ruster" instead of the "Duster," and trust me, it's a very appropriate name!! ;) We're driving it until it dies.

1998 Ford escort...not fabulous but its paid for!
DH drives a 93 Ford Explorer...paid for too;)

OMG, I always drool over those Mini Coopers when i see one....such a cute car! I WILL own one ...one day:)

It was a

1992 Olds Cutlass Supreme - we had to retire it last year with 250,000 miles on it.
1997 Chevy Truck - use when we need to haul stuff
2003 Chevy Impala - was the car that sat but since the other has been retired it is our daily
driver, decent gas mileage and it is paid off
Harley-Davidson - this comes out on the nice days (which are not very many in MI) but we
do enjoy the weekend drives when we can get out.

Nothing new in the near future, like having no car payments. Helps us pay off other bills : )

Another 2008 Mustang GT . . . this car is an absolute thrill to drive - between the horsepower and the "rumble" of the engine, there has not been a day that has gone by that it doesn't put a smile on my face. Plus, I get a thumbs up from cops all the time! Gas mileage is compromised a bit because I have a heavy foot, but I will gladly pay the price. I will never go back to "normal" car, ever.

So I have to ask, Cynthia...

Do Mercedes and Maximus get to ride in the Porsche? :D

Yes:D

Mercedes has a slight problem with it. After all, she's a Mercedes:p
Maximus barely fits in. He looks like a real person sitting on the passenger side. He gets a lot of looks:cool:

LOL! I love it! :D

Rascal goes to work with DH everyday and sits in the passenger seat of his truck. A lot of our neighbors who see them in the morning comment that he looks like person sitting there.
