That's a fabulous idea Shelley! It would be wonderful to meet some fellow Canadian Catheites (Cathenucks perhaps....or Canathes...whatever...:7 ). I'm overdue for a solo get-a-way and this would fit the bill perfectly. Somewhere in the Golden Horse shoe before the snow flies would be marvelous but quite honestly I've had three glasses of red wine tonight and have no head for details right now;-). How's about we put it out there on the open forum tomorrow and see who's interested, if all else fails we could meet in Oshawa, take in a couple of classes at a gym and grab some dinner:). Looking forward to exploring this more with you!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Don't make me cry now, Marla. I just thought you ladies were way out of my league and that I'd be the odd one out. And then I thought, Well... it's only for a couple hours, and I'm here and I'm hungry...:) You guys were a hoot! Still are.:7

Love ya,
Pinky

Hey Missy thanks about the Grandma post. I was not in as good of shape as a teenager either LOL. Truely I think I will always have goals to move forwards to be better. I have felt like I have many friends here. I love reading everyone's posts. After awhile I feel like I really know so many of you. It is true some are so funny and come up with things to hi light the day. Others carry so much knowledge. Some just make me want to embrace my life and enjoy it to the fullest. And I am amazed at those that can be here for all of us and constantly offer help and friendship. I love everyone here for what they have to offer.

What a great thread! I don't post too much but I do visit every day (often more than once!):). So many wonderful people with so much great information! And of course some fun too! :)
Have a great one!

Oh Missy,

What a wonderful post!! My gosh, I'm just overwhelmed. I showed it to my husband, and well, I'm still trying to clean up the coffee that spewed from his mouth all over the study. LOL! He said he it never occurred to him that someone would use my name and the word "laidback" in the same sentence. Really, it must've taken an incredible amount of time and clearly, an abudance of thoughtfulness to start this thread and I appreciate it, and you!

Missy, you are such a cheerleader and you always have a kind word and something cute or funny to say. You have a gift for making people feel welcome. I look forward everyday to the personal goals check in thread because I know it's going to lift me up and leave me feeling encouraged, amused, and educated in some way.

The same is true for the daily goals thread. I started out feeling like an interloper, but you all included me right in and boosted my spirit with your encouraging words.

Even though I've never posted on it, I just love this <--- thread. I can't tell you how many times I've come close to peeing my pants from laughing, or have been moved to the point of tears from the love and kindness that you have for each other.

I've come to appreciate so many of you on this forum, too many to list. It's the first thing I check in the morning, and the last thing I look at before I go to bed. I've learned so much from so many of you. You're a great bunch of women!!

Missy-
What a wonderful post.

For me, this forum is a place of peace and sanity in the whirlwind of life. Whenever I start to feel a little overwhelmed during the day, I log in.

Okay, this will sound silly, but when I was young I used to tell my family that I wished that there was a "girl planet". I envisioned a place where you could go and everyone would be wearing comfy plush bathrobes and bunny slippers, sipping coffee, eating chocolate, just being themselves, being supportive of one another, and not trying to impress anyone or compete with anyone. In other words, a world without so much testosterone.

For a few years, I was pretty obsessed with idea (maybe because I had brothers and no sister). With apologies to the great guys we have here, in a way I think I've found my mini girl planet here on the Cathe forums.

And if anyone lands on our planet and says "take me to your leader", we can say "just buy the DVD". :+

You all inspire to get fitter and to be a stronger athlete. I still have about 20 pounds to lose (after losing 75) and I know I can make it with all of you healthy, fit ladies to look up to. Thank you for the daily inspiration.

Missy-

I wanted to post this morning but I forgot! I wanted to say the same thing.

I think it's significant that the first thing I do on a Saturday morning is come see what you all are up to. The information and support around here is WONDERFUL. The fact that we don't always agree means to me that we're always honest and real. I'll take that any day!!

Thanks everyone, for being so smart about how you take care of yourselves and for sharing what you know! I feel like I actually "belong" someplace, since my priorities are pretty similar to most here. :D

Thanks everyone!!!

P.S. Cathe, you can "barge in" any time you want- you're the glue keeping us together, whether you're too humble to admit it or not!!

First off, I have to agree Carole McMain is the best. She has always been so enthusiastic, welcoming, gentile, and unobtrusive. She will always have a place in my heart just because of that. If I can strive to be just like her, I'm doing just fine.

Next, you girls are a hoot! thanks for keeping my everyday work life a blast! Just watch out for my next post stating I'm fired because I was online too much!

Marla

I've been trying to write this post for ten minutes but everything I said just sounded STOOPID. So, let me just say:

-----> I was lonely (living in a new location,no real friends).

-----> I found this board.

------> I posted.

------> Everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

------> I felt a little bit less lonely.

Thanks, Cathe Women.

Missy,

Thank you for starting this thread. I have only been here since the end of May but I have gained so much since then. Knowledge, support, compassion, empathy, confidence... the list goes on. What I have gained has been so generously given by the women on this forum who share a little piece of themselves every day. I feel fortunate to have found such a wonderful place.

A few stand out who have helped me and inspired me. I know you know who you are so I won't name names for fear of leaving someone out.

Cathe - barge in any time, I agree with the above poster, you are the glue that holds everything together. I hope you realize that the workouts you create not only build strong bodies but senses of well being, confidence in all areas of life, and the knowledge that "yes you can"!!

Thank you each and every one of you for "making my day" every single day.

I used to post on another message board (operative word is "used") and it was nothing but a bash-fest. I admit, I can get a little crass and opinionated on a few topics (I've always said that my mouth is going to get me into trouble someday), but I try to maintain respect and civility with others. I do this because I know I am NOT always right...as much as I would like to be. :p

At any rate, I enjoy coming to this board so much more because everyone is supportive and understanding...and I can be PMS'ing one day and type something a little "edgy" but come back later and no one is bashing me for what I said. It's like you all understand that we all get a little short and a little opinionated, but that when it comes right down to it, we're all just human and striving for the same things: fitness, fun, understanding, and even a sounding board for our frustration sometimes.

Thanks here to everyone for being so cool and fun -- I have a particular fondness for that limecat picture! :7

Also, Missy, thank you so much for mentioning me. I work for a boss who is a compulsive editor - he can't stop changing things he or anyone else writes. I've been with him for 7 years now, so I've become an editor too. So, yes, it's rare to see a post by me that doesn't have those red letters at the top letting you know that my post has been edited. I'm just glad that it no longer tells you how many times it's been edited. On the old Cathe boards, there was a red line for every time you edited!! You can imagine what my posts looked like. LOL!!

Nancy!

That is tooo cute! I'm so glad to be a part of the "Girl Planet"!

Nancy, how perfect! You took the words right out of my mouth! This IS the ultimate Girl Planet (well, okay, with very special and welcome guests appearing from time to time from the Testosterone Tribe. ;-))

You all know what a gusher I can be, and I've said it all so many times before that I won't do it again here -- plus, all of you have already said so perfectly what I'd say. I'll just say this: The depth of genuine connection in this community is impossible to describe to anyone who's not a part of it. My "brick and mortar" girlfriends think it's a little nuts that I consider women I've met here to be among my very best, very real friends (and you sweeties know who you are! ;-)) But I always tell them that they only think it's crazy because they haven't been Cathe Forumites.

If I can't be with all of you at Four Seasons every day pounding it out in Studio A with our Cathe, this is the next best thing! :)

Just wanted to say I think you guys are fabulous and though we may have the occasional bump in the road, we're a pretty good bunch of people here.
