Morning ladies~

Not sure if we want to check in daily or weekly on weigh-in day or what, but I just wanted to say that I did really well yesterday, and I'm determined to do the same today.

Someone actually handed me a glass of Coke with ice yesterday and I said "no thanks!". Yay me!

Weekends are always harder, but we can do it!

Mornin' gals!

Shelley, great job on turning down the Coke!!! :D

I did well yesterday too and hope for the same today. I started off the morning right with a good tough workout (BBC cardio and Shoulders & Back), so I'm on the right track. :) Now, if I can just resist all the candy at the scrapbooking retreat today, I'll be doing really good. ;)

Have a great day everyone!!! Remember - cauliflower is our friend!

Hey all,

I wanna weigh in Monday. Why? My weekend is crazy with guests, eating out and you name it. I am trying to squeeze in a workout this am before the entertaining starts all over again. We went out to eat last night, and I ordered 1 glass of wine, had the baked salmon (ate just half) steamed broccoli, and had small (very small) amount of the other stuff, one bite of bread, 1 oyster rockefeller (yum), and a taste of the creamed spinach-not perfect, but I left the table feeling good. Not stuffed. Plus, the rest of the day was pretty good.

Weekends are tough Shelley, good for you and the Coke!:) Now if I can stay away from all the treats today I will be doing great.

Personally, I do not like reporting everything I eat-which is why I left the clean and tidy thread, it gets tedious. But will check in for sure every other day or so.

I agree with tneah that listing everything you eat gets tedious. But I do like the idea of checking in every day for encouragment and some gentle hand slapping when I get out of line.

High fives to Shelley for turning down the Coke.

Good luck avoiding the goodies at the retreat, Emily. Sorry, but I will never call cauliflower a friend of mine. But asparagus is my buddy.

I'm at work and on my weekend, everyone brings in goodies. We have asparagus quiche, PB sweet rolls, raisin bread, cranberry bread and pecan sticky muffins. Ha, a pox on it all. I do pretty good avoiding it on Saturday, but Sundays are a little harder. Hopefully it will all be gone or terrible stale by tomorrow. Today's workout will be some kind of full body weight work. Maybe ME.

Hi everyone,
Mind if I join? I'm kind of looking for a check in home right now. I gained a few pounds this past year after rehabbing an ACL reconstruction. It was strange in that I didn't actually gain weight until I started to do my normal workouts. I think I lost a lot of muscle in that time and replaced it with fat....then started putting the muscle back on....hence the "weight gain." So I guess my goal is fat loss now.

I'm about 8 lbs. over what I weighed prior to injury. I'll weigh in whenever everyone decides is a good day. It'll keep me on my toes this weekend if I don't know when it's coming up, lol.

Shelly - great job on not taking the soft drink...yay!

Hi Catherine, thanks!

Tneah - I hope you enjoy your weekend with your guests. It's always hard to be in a tempting eating situation but you did well.

Emily - I'm still eyeing the BBC set. Do you enjoy it? Have fun scrapbooking.

Well, today I did Cathe's 4 Day Split Legs premix + Kickbox Core then ran over 5 miles using Cardio Coach Press Play.

Meals today so far have been (I'll edit it at the end of the day after I put it in FitDay):

1) protein shake with 2 oz. fruit juice - 6 oz. water - scoop Isopure protein

2) 1 egg / 2 egg whites scrambled with mushrooms & onions and half a slice of low fat cheese + 2 slices of light bread with tsp light butter and all fruit preserves - cup of coffee

Kathy

edited to say: Robin we must have posted at the same time. Yikes, just reading that list of goodies put a pound on, lol!

G'morning...er...afternoon!

I'm pleased to report that I did well yesterday, and no slip ups so far today, either. We'll probably eat out tonight so I'll make the best choices I can. I'm doing the Cardio Coach PUMP workout today, and CCPP tomorrow.

Shelley, ^5's for declining the Coke! Coke has always been my weakness, too, but I stopped drinking it almost entirely a few years ago. I only drink it when I have a migraine headache -- works wonders!;)

I agree that I don't want to record every morsel I put in my mouth. I'm mostly looking for encouragement and buddies for support along the way :p

I'm not aiming for dietary perfection, either. I just want to eat healthy most of the time, have a treat once in awhile, and learn a little self control. I can't have forbidden foods because I'll end up on a binge

The other big issue for me is keeping up with my workouts. I don't enjoy working out so it's really hard for me to maintain that discipline. I've managed to follow a rotation for the past 4 weeks, working out 6 days a week, and I'm praying I can continue on this path. This is where I'll need a LOT of encouragement and a good swift kick in the @$$ ;)

Okay people, steam your cauliflower and burn your fat!!

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you:)

Almost forgot to check in!

First confession: I made cookies last night. My excuse is that it was a bonding time with my little boys--we made chocolate chip cookies together. Of course, I could have had them make something healthier, and of course I didn't have to eat the cookies myself, but oh well. I ate 4 of them. Dipped in milk. At least it was skim milk. :)

So I'm not exactly starting the challenge with a bang, but we'll consider that my last big cheat for a while!

So far so good today.

Shelley--good job resisting the Coke. I usually drink Diet A&W Root Beer--still too many additives and stuff, but I at least only have about half a glass in the evening. The rest of the day I drink water or skim milk. I have the hardest time drinking all the water I'm supposed to, though. You'd think that would be easy.

Tneah--good luck with the entertaining this weekend--sounds like you did well last night.

Emily--good luck avoiding candy.

Robin--I think the pecan sticky muffins would be killer for me. You can tell I have a sweet tooth!

Kathy--yum that egg with mushrooms and onions thing looks good--going to have to write that combo down for future use.

Michele--is Cardio Coach one of those audio programs?

Hi Lainie!!

Yes, the CC PUMP workout is an audio guided weight circuit. I like it a lot. He uses the same basic format and music as the cardio workouts. The time seems to go by pretty quickly.

Tneah, yes, enjoy your company, and ^5's for your restraint at dinner last night. I hope I can do as well this evening!

Emily -- DROP THAT COOKIE!!! LMAO!!

Robin -- I'm sending heavy duty vibes your way so you can resist the temptation. Oh yeah, I agree with Lainie -- the sticky puns would probably do me in  . My sweet tooth will be my downfall.

Kathy -- welcome to the challenge!

Hi,this is actually my first post even though I have been reading this forum for maybe a year.

I have been really wanting to try one of the check ins and challenges. I am not sure the rules on joining. Is it OK to jump in on this one?

My biggest challenge is the eating clean and drinking water. I go in spurts with being good and then not so good.

Anyway my goal weight is 9 lbs away so this looked like a good fit for me.

I am currently doing the October Back to Heavy rotation. I have been trying Cathe's rotations for a couple months and I really enjoy them. I ususally end up taking more off days than I should but I think the rotations have improved my consistency.

Hi cbaumb and welcome to the forums! We'd love for you to join us in the 10# meltdown challenge -- the more the merrier! There are no special rules for joining a check-in, except that we'll probably mail our Halloween candy to you since you're the newbie :p :7 .

Some of us are involved in more than one check-in. I hate cardio, so I check in with the cardio haters ;) . If you see another one that suits your fancy, just introduce yourself and post away!

Hello everyone,
I just finished 4DS Kickbox/legs....it's my favorite of the new series!!
As far as eating goes....not to bad today...we are going to dinner with friends and I am going for salad and going to try and avoid the bread basket. Bread..good bread..is my biggest weakness, and Lainie I too would have a hard time passing up fresh baked cookies :9 .

Sarah

Happy Sunday pound droppers. I thought I'd just keep this post going through Sunday and maybe someone (Shelley?) will start a new one tomorrow. I was a good little girl yesterday with both my eating and my workouts. I did MIS for the first time. I bought the DVD last summer and never did it. Whew, I was pooped and had to take a couple tylenol in the middle of the night as a result.

Today is the small party for my grandson's first birthday, which is Halloween. I'm still not sure if I'll pass on the pizza, but I know I'm going to just have a mouthful of cake. No more. I swear. But I will probably indulge in a couple glasses of wine, since I don't have to work tomorrow. See you then.

Good morning!

We went out to dinner last night and I did alright. We ate at an Italian restaurant and I had a plate of pasta with plain tomato sauce, a meatball, and a salad with the dressing on the side -- no dessert.

My DH wants to cook dinner tonight and he's planning to roast a chicken. I'll take charge of the sides or we'll end up with fried potatoes or something equally and deliciously dirty }(

Robin, enjoy your grandson's birthday. You've earned the celebration!! Just watch your portions. Get a veggie pizza and have just a small piece of cake. Whenever I order pizza out I lay a wad of paper towels over the top of it to absorb the greasy fat. ;)

Hello to everyone else!

Its Sunday and I am still eating sugar, tomorrows weigh-in for me will be interestingx( Last night took friends to see the hilarious Carrot-top, serious, you all have to see him if you are ever here in Vegas. Tickets are cheap compared to others, and he is the smartest, funniest man on the planet!
I had one drink, then got home and munched on a few cups of sweet popcorn which wasn't so good. Sigh. Today we go out to the race track here to watch the top fuel cars, will resist the booze (easy) and the other fatty fare (not as easy).

Edit: Sorry, forgot to say congrads to Robin and Michelle, sounds like you both showed admirable restraint in the face of yummy Italian fare!

Hmm, the only Italian I've had lately is what I make myself (which is sad since I haven't a drop of Italian blood in me). For lunch today, in fact, I had some whole wheat pasta, sprayed with a little "I can't believe it's not Butter" spray and sprinkled with Reduced Fat Parmesan cheese. Then I ate a couple more cookies. Argh. At least the whole wheat pasta was so light maybe I had room for those cookies? Whatever. It'll be a light dinner--going to make something chicken, I believe.

OK, want to write more but I have a headache--going to rest a bit before my toddler wakes from his nap.

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday evening.

Well, yesterday went quite well. I had pizza for lunch but it was whole grain crust and a few veggies and just one slice. The rest of the day was good.

Today, on the other hand.... um.... not so great. I had the girls over this afternoon and we indulged a little bit and I wasn't able to work out.

But tomorrow is another day, right?

Must confess that I did not do well at all this weekend. I ate everythng from hushpuppies to chocolate creme pie!!! Oh and a butterfinger candy bar (but it was a mini size)

So yes Shelley tomorrow is another day and it will officially be my offical first day of this challange.:D

Hello everybody. Well I had did OK this morning took my dog for a long walk and did some weight work.

It was kind of downhill from there. I usually do something a little scrumptious for breakfast on Sunday for my DH and 2 boys. Today it was a french toast bake. I started with oatmeal but gave in around lunchtime with the leftovers. I will count that as growth because normally I would have had some for breakfast and lunch.

Tommorrow is definately another day. Wishing everybody a great Monday.

Hello, all!

Monday morning and I weighed in at 158!!! Yikes!

I haven't been vigilant with my workouts this past week. Ihaven't been eating badly, but probably too much.

We had a fire at our barn, and I've been trying to get a claim together for my insurance company. It's been taking up a lot of time, plus I haven't been riding regularly, now that riding is a big "ordeal" (although riding is never really an ordeal ;)) - borrowing tack (and everything else), walking the long walk to the other barn to tack up, etc.

Luckily no one was harmed in the blaze - two-legged or four! The barn itself was literally flattened.

Tonight 4DS:BC is on tap.
