Sayonara 10 lbs!!!

Susan - yikes! I'm sorry to hear about your fire. That must have been awfully scary. Glad to hear nobody was injured.

Okay, it's Monday. Back on track. I'm only at work two days this week, so I'm pretty excited about that.

Hi -- I'd LOVE to join this check in!!

I'm a little shy -- so I'm usually a lurker -- but I couldn't help but jump in on this one! I know with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas coming up - I need support like this!

I had oatmeal for breakfast. Now I'm at work with a packed lunch of fruit and a turkey sandwich.

I'm "planning" on working out after work. This usually happens only 2-3 days a week. So I need motivation to get up before work. I've been wanting to switch to morning workouts for years -- but I just need that extra shove. Maybe having to "check-in" will help!! :)

Bye Bye 10 pounds!!!
Michelle

Morning everyone,
Guess today is the weigh in? My goal is 127 – 130 lbs. Here are my starting stats:

Height: 5’ 5”
Weight today: 136.2 lbs.
Tanita bodyfat: 21.2%

Yesterday’s I ran 9 miles. Today I tried out the Kickbox segment of Cathe’s 4 Day Split (which was really fun!) and did iTread N Tush (circuit legs + ran 3 miles). I’m going to give the Total Body Premix from the 4DS a try tomorrow. Yikes, it’s over an hour and half!

Sorry, I’ll have to come back and do personals. Have a great day!

So, are we going to keep the same thread going all week?

Sounds like most of us did pretty darned good over the weekend - Yay! I had a few M&Ms, but otherwise I was quite pleased with my meals over the weekend.

My biggest problem is late night eating. It's just the way my schedule goes - dinner is always late. And by the time I finally get around to it, I'm famished and end up eating more than I should. It can be good food or bad, but just too much. I'm not really sure how I'm going to approach this. Any suggestions out there?

Happy Monday, everyone.

Hello All!

Congrats to those who were able to show restraint over the weekend! I ate atrociously because I was entertaining guests at the house and well... you know how that goes.

But it's Monday and so far, so good. I weighed myself this morning, but didn't have time to take the "before" pictures. Will do that when I get home tonight.

Be good the rest of the day! ;)

ETA: Since posting, I've been sitting here trying to come up with a punishment for myself for whenever I get out of line. What I've come up with is: for each time I slip up (i.e. eat 1 cookie), I'll do 10 push-ups. And I mean on your toes, all the way down, the "right way" kind of push-ups. I may be there for over an hour trying to accomplish this, but I think this'll stop me from being "bad." Just wanted to share in case this method could serve to help anyone else...

ROTFLOL!!! OMG B, I'm laughing so hard I'm about to pee my pants  :7 . Well, I'll have to come up with some other form of punishment because I can't do 10 push ups on my toes ;)

I didn't do too bad over the weekend. I split a cupcake with my DH for dessert last night, and I did have one teensy tiny little Reese's PB pumpkin -- just one}( . Other than that, my eating was pretty good. I'm on a mission to up my intake of veggies. If there was one thing I didn't get enough of this weekend, it was vegetables. I'm going to buy plenty of salad fixings today. I'm still on target with my workouts, too, so I'm pretty pleased with myself. I'm so glad we're in this together ;)

Good Morning all. Congrats to all who had a good weekend. I cannot include myself in that group!!

Today I am back on track. I had dry wheat toast and oatmeal for breakfast and brought fruit and a healthy lunch to get me through the day. I usually eat out for lunch alot and I think that is a major downfall for me. So.....I am going to make it a point to "brown bag" it everyday this week.

I weighed myself this morning and it was pretty scary. I WILL NOT be posting any numbers yet!!!:p

I hope everyone has a great day

B -

Pushups are an excellent idea. I might steal it from you! Or maybe I'll substitute Terminator climbers, like the ones in Cathe's original Boot Camp.

Susan, OMG I just saw your post about the fire! Thank goodness you're okay and none of your 4-legged friends were hurt. I'm so sorry. I hope your barn can be restored/rebuilt quickly.

Susan,

I, too, just saw your post about the fire and am sorry to hear about it, but glad no one (2- or 4-legged) was hurt!

Believe it or not, pushups are harder for me than the Terminator climbers! But whatever works for you as a punishment will do. That's why I wanted to share the idea. Usually, I'll know I shouldn't be eating (insert junk of your choice here), but I'll go ahead and put it in my mouth anyway. I need something more than "I know I shouldn't but what the heck..."

B. - I LOVE your push-ups idea! I think Cathe actually suggested this a while back, but more as a preventative thing. Like if you are dying for a brownie, drop and do 10 push-ups instead. But your idea is great! I hope you don't mind if I steal it!

I'll be doing all cardio this week, as I've done something stupid to my stupid elbow and am going to the stupid doctor on Thursday and I hope I don't have to go to stupid physio.x( Anyway, I certainly can't lift weights. I can barely type without it being painful. *sigh*

Michelle,

I can only do like 2 mediocre ones on my toes. That's why it would take me over an hour to bang out 10 good ones! ;)

Awwwh... sorry to hear that Shelly! :-( Hope it gets better soon.

>Oh, and I think we need to crack to whip too. None of this "That's >OK that you ate an entire package of oreos because a leaf fell off >your prize begonia" stuff.

Of course I don't mind if you steal the idea!! As Robin said in the 1st thread, we gotta crack the whip!!! }(

Sorry about your elbow Shelley.:-( I am trying to figure out whats up with my hip now, I think I over did it with Cathe's Bootcamp and pulled something, I am going to the doc this Wednesday.Boo!:)

Anyway, here are my stats. Do not judge;) . I might even post a pic, to really "put it on paper" to help my commitment with this plan to shed my 7 pounds.

Stats: 5'7. 148 pounds, 18-19 % bodyfat-it varies between these 2 numbers constantly.

Chest: 39 inches-yeah, the gals are huge
Waist: 27 inches-looking to lose 1 1/2 inches here!
Hips: 36 inches
Upper thigh: 21 inches on non-operated side, 20 inches on operated side
-would like to tighten up and reduce size-almost impossible for me, but I am bound determined to try.
Arms: 10 1/2 inches-11 inches-would like to lean out tricep area!

Goals: To lose 7 pounds of bodyfat, specifically in the tricep/waist area. To tighten up my butt and legs.

Am experimenting with the Slim Series right now, along with the Squeeze workouts. These workouts are tough for me, she does not stop lifting the dang weights for an hour, there is no rest at all! I can lift heavy really easy, but endurance workouts are much harder for me, so I will be focusing on these for the next 6 weeks.:)

Whew. I am sorta embarassed, but this will help keep me accountable to someone here. Good day ladies! We can do it!!

Is it too late to join in? Man, I had a rough weekend and need some clean eating support. Friday was the wine festival. Need I say more? I don't remember much of the evening, but I do know that I never want another glass of wine (or piece of cheese) again. Ugh!!! Saturday wasn't much better because DH told me greasy food was best for hangovers. Stupid man. Yesterday, much better and I've lost the water gain from Friday, so I'm ready to roll!! Didn't work out Saturday OR Sunday, but I have an hour and a half killer ballet class tonight. Hopefully that will jumpstart the week. ANd I've sworn off of my nightly glass of wine.

Glad you gals are doing so well!!! I'm jealous!!! Susan, I'm sorry about the fire, and SO glad you are OK.

And I agree I'll take terminators over pushups any day of the week.

I need this too right now. I lost about 8 lbs a few weeks ago and have put 4 back on.

If you guys don't mind...I'm joining in. I just started with my new Cathe DVD's and need MOTIVATION big time :) :D :D :D

Stats:

Biceps = 12"
Chest = 34"
Waist = 26.5'
Hips = ?? about 36" (problem area)
Upper thighs = 21"

Would love to lose inches around that problem area.

Hi gang. I'm excited to see some lurkers joining in! I love the idea of pushups when you get out of line. Maybe we can do 10 if we want a brownie, have the brownie, then do 10 more. Gosh, we are going to have pecs of steel, aren't we?

I did OK at the birthday party last night. I was good till everyone left, then I had a piece of cake. It's everyone else's fault for not finishing the stinkin cake! I had a couple glasses of wine too. I'm going to go way out on a limb and post my weight here. Shield your eyes everyone, it is a scary number. 160. There, whew, I did it. I've been over 150 most of my adult life and flirted with the 190's a bit, so I'm almost content with 160. I'm 5'7" but haven't checked any other measurements lately. Anywhoo, today has been swell, eating wise. I did BBC arms, abs and cardio this morning and chores all afternoon. I think it's time to plop on the couch with a book now.

Shelley, what the heck did you do to your elbow!?!?!?! Gosh, you and Michele need to get together. Michele said her's is still bothering her.

Susan, the fire sounds awful. I hope you get all the insurance taken care of.

OK, time to go catch up on the rest of the forum stuff, then sit and read. Bye!

Hi everyone. Did a little better with eating yesterday and when I peeked at the scale last night it was down a bit--could be a fluke, though. Today I did the step part of SJP and then did the weights of BBC Arms & Abs. Now my arms are a bit shaky.

Shelley, good luck with the elbow. I have to take my sore ankle to the orthopedic dude to have a look at it on Wed. so I hope he says something like "stop babying that thing, you're fine". I also hope my 2-year old is over his cold by then so I can leave him at nursery school and go to the doc by myself. Nothing like dragging a toddler along to appointments.

I like the pushup punishment idea--but I think I might collapse if I did any more pushups right now! I guess that means I'd better be good!

Well, as usual good morning. Bad afternoon. I made party mix this weekend. I can't stay away from it. I am going to put it in a very top cupboard when I am done with this and probably owe 20 pushups. Not sure I can do 20 pushups my limit of on the toes the rightway is usually 3. But if I am going to be accountable I better give it a try.

My workout tonight will be Gym Style Legs. And there will be vegies for supper.

I wish everybody some speedy recoveries with injuries.

And Lainie I hope your toddler is feeling better. Doctor's offices with toddlers are not fun especially when it is your appointment.

I just tossed a bunch of frosted Halloween cookies into the trash. I cannot resist nasty frosting!:) A waste of money yes, but it was the right thing to do, no one wanted them anyway...good day so far, broccoli and tomatoes with hummus, banana, apple, 2 cups of coffee with a little whipped cream on top(no, I will not give up that whipped cream right now) and for dinner a protein, and more veggies.

Oh, I read that eating a cupful of red grapes before a workout helps you burn more calories and fat. Why? It seems that they contain a certain antioxidant the prompts the mitochondria (energy factories in your cells) to use fuel more efficiently, therefore boosting caloric burn and upping muscle endurance. Good news for me, I love, love, love red grapes!:)
