Road Trippers 3/29

Hey all! I'm trying to keep up..work is a little crazy right now! Here's my eating from yesterday...not the best but I'll get there.

B: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup skim ricotta cheese, 1 T. raisins/craisins, 1 T. walnuts and equal mixed in., 1/2 cup orange juice
S: EAS Lo-carb protein drink, 2 South Beach diet cookies
L: Grilled chicken salad, 1 oz. cheese, 2 T. ranch dressing (on the side)
S: 1/2 brownie, Fruit snack jellies-140 calories, Zone bar
D: Lean Pocket 290 calories, 1 cup code red mountain dew (one of my weaknesses, trying to restrict myself...argh!)

This morning I did Kick Punch and Crunch, PS biceps and abs.

Wow that's cool that a number of us have done the Disney marathon! I just loved that one! I'm trying to remember when I did it, I'm pretty sure it was in 2003.

Shelly, okay can I answer all of the above to your question...gosh they all sound awesome to me, can't wait!!

6Swans4me...wow that's cool you're starting a P90x rotation! I did one the first part of the year and that is a TOUGH routine...esp. that Chest and Back, ouch! I'm still trying to include pull-ups into my Cathe back routines because they are making me so much stronger! Keep us posted with how that goes...I may have to figure out how to incorporate some of those workouts in with my Cathe's.

Have a great day all!

Hi all. I'm in between meetings right now - but off to another - so...

Looks like everyone is hanging together. Repeat ^^^^5's to you runners - I so wish I could do it!

Yesterday was a TERRIBLE food day for me. I do find that when I am not feeling in control I eat badly. Gotta put a check on that - now!!

This morning's w/o was the cardio/leg premix of DM and LL. Hopefully I can get a training walk in this afternoon but that's ify. Hope to check back in later tonight! Have a good Thursday.

Lorrie

I'll be walking the Komen 3-day (60 miles) the week after Cathe's RT. Here's my webpage.

I'm in between meetings and off to another myself!

After yesterday's breakfast fiasco, I felt fat and bloated all day. BLEH So much so that I never ate anything for lunch. I had a handful of crackers and some cottage cheese before I worked out and make Asian chicken salad for dinner. So overall it was not such a bad day. I did PS CST last night when I got home from work and impressed myself using the full 50#s for the chest work. I've only been brave enough to try up to 40# or 45# before now. And I did a few of the decline pushups on my toes (toe pushups are a weak point for me).

Right now, I am chomping at the bit to get to Legs & Glutes, S&H Biceps, and some abs so off to work I go. . . . . the sooner I'm done working, the sooner I can work out!

Glad to see everyone. And my answer to the question of the day is Kickbox, followed closely by Bootcamp. Live Kickbox is so different from videos because instructors typically get you moving around the room instead of staying in your little space. It is more interactive than other classes and moving around the room is a nice change of pace. I love bootcamp-type workouts too though. Something about switching between cardio and weights clicks for me.

Have a great rest of the day!

Good Afternoon Road Trippers!!
I haven't been able to get to the computer today because I had to work. Today was a rest day for me. I know rest days are important, but I feel like I almost have to force myself to take one!!!I am still trying to eat clean today, but since DH is actually off tonight from work I have a feeling we will be doing dinner and a movie.

I am with Mona about the kickboxing class. I love kickboxing and the gym where I work stopped offering classes because of low turnout:-(
I also am excited about step too, although I worry that I'll have two left feet. Actually, I am just excited to take any of Cathe's classes.:)

Gayle-I would love to hear how you do the 8mile hill repeat run. I use the treadmill all the time and I am always looking for different programs to try.

Congrats to everyone on accomplishing their workouts. We are going to be the most in shape group Cathe has ever seen.:) :)

Hey everyone! Today was my pure cardio day - I love those days! Just finished Step Blast (one of my faves) and I'm sweating on the keyboard as I type!
has anyone ever had problems with an achilles tendon? Is that what that little area is at the back of your ankle? My left one has been sore for a few months but has really been bothering me since I've been giving 150% to my workouts since the RT sign ups. I'm worried about injuring it -- it really bothered me today during SB. Any advice? Should I step up my yoga for a while and maybe go lighter on the cardio (hate the thought of that)??
I'm most looking forward to step. My least fave is kickboxing -- I'm not very good at it. But I'll go to the class anyway and try to hide in the back!
Hope you all have a great rest of the day!
Colleen

Good Afternoon RTers!

HeatherB--Just hope my feet aren't out of sink with everyone else during the step class!!:p I have some of those old Firm tapes that you mentioned and I may pull them out next week. Did they seem easy after doing Cathe?

6swansforme--Let us know how you like the HR monitor. My DH gave me one a couple of years ago, but it won't work in front of the tv!x(

Mona-- You are also from TX, right? You are one strong woman lifting 50#!!}(

Colleen-- Also from TX, right? I have never injured my achilles tendon. take care of before it gets worse.

Colleen - how bad is that hurt? Is it something you should have checked out? I sure hope you don't push it and then do any real damage where rehab would take you into the late summer!!! Please be careful!

Ok - got back from the meetings and did manage to fit in a 6-mile training walk. (I'm having a hard time imagining doing 4 of these walks on a single day, but that's why I'm training it right?) Now off to get the kids, get dinner, and a zoning meeting tonight. But I realized that I didn't answer your question Shelly. I think I'm looking forward to the high step class the most (that was my favorite last time) followed by BC. Though I love all of the types and choosing is hard. Last time Cathe asked for input on everyone's favorite step moves and then choreographed a step routine using our favorites. It was a lot of fun so I'm hoping she'll do that again. Back later.

Hello everyone.

I decided to post before my workout today. I have the 2nd 5 intervals of IMAX 2 and LOMAX on tap for this afternoon. My eating started off well with oatmeal, blueberries, raisins, protein powder, wheat germ, and flax seed. I overate at lunch though (met co-workers for lunch). I will try to do better at dinner.

Colleen...What kind of pain are you having (sharp, dull, achy, or bothersome)? I have also had trouble with my Achilles tendon on the left. I found that if I cross train more it gets better. I really love cardio too and it is hard for me to cut back. Also, when I do step I make sure to land toe-ball-heel (as Cathe says) which you may already do (I have a tendency to stay up on my toes), but this also seems to help. Anyway, I hope it feels better, and remember to ice it if you need to.

I vote for step followed by kickboxing. However, I am really looking forward to all of them!!!I can't wait!!

I will try to check back in later.

Hi Everyone ~

Well, today is a rest day for me. I am still following Cathe's Upper Body Bliss Rotation, so far I am loving it! Has anyone did this rotation, what were your results like?

6Swans4Me - How is P90X coming along? Boy, that was delivered fast! Hope you like it!!!

I was off-site at work today in a training class all day, so needless to say my eating was downhill all day...I'm embarressed to say what I ate;

B- Doughnut, Coffee
L- 1/2 egg salad sandwich & 1/2 Turkey Sandwich, 2 cookies & potato salad ... :(
D- Not so bad, some Chicken w/ Pasta (w/w)...

Oh, well tomorrow is another day, right? I will take this day as my cheat day....:)

Hope everyone had a great day...
Take Care~

I just finished SS - Upper Body Blast premix. I had traction today so I didn't want to do any impact.

I am looking forward to Step #1 and High Step Sculpt #2. I am trying to become more of a fan of kickbox, but it isn't something that has me very excited. I just kinda don't get it!

No marathon for me and I think 6 mph is a sprint :)

I eat pizza on an almost daily basis and believe it is its own food group; that and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Jenn,

Step away from the doughnuts tomorrow morning! I'm just going to have to talk to the WaWa manager if you keep this up this nonsense! ;)

I managed to survive P90X Day1. I didn't give Ab RipperX 100%. I hate core work! I hate chin-ups too. But, I'm surprised that I don't hate P90X yet. I think it's because it cracks me up to hear Phil cry for his mommy! Oh my goodness, it's priceless!}(
