This would be my frst one so forgive my ignorance. What if I want to bring my mom with me? It says you can only register 1 person. How many people stay in a room? Does the registration fee include room fee? or is that seperate. I see meals are included. There is transportation to and from the hotel to Cathe's facility. With gas prices being what they are (from Michigan) I think I might have to check into plane fare. Anyone else doing airplane?

The registration fee only includes registration. Hotel and how you get there and home are separate. I think you'll find lots of people will be flying in.

Beth - I believe someone brought their mom last year and she watched the classes. I don't know whether she participated in any of the meals though since she wasn't registered and didn't pay for them. That's a good question for Cathe. The hotel reservations are completely your own responsibility and you arrange and pay for that yourself. If you know someone who is going, you can room together (the hotels have rooms with 2 beds) and cut the room cost in half. A lot of people flew and then either rented a car or used the service that Cathe recommends.

You can bring your Mom and she can stay in the hotel with you but she CAN NOT partake in the roadtrip activities unless she registers and pays the fee. You can only register one person at a time--last year there were problems with people registering multiple names on one registration form and it was a nightmare since there are only 105 spots. The hotel is a separate fee from the Roadtrip fee.

What Allison said. :) If your mom wants to participate in the RT activities, she will need to register herself and pay her own $249 fee. If she just wants to tag along and not participate, then she just needs to pay her own travel, hotel and meal expenses. Cathe offers gym day passes for guests of road trippers who aren't participating in the road trip (usually, husbands who have been dragged along :p), if your mom is interested in working out at Cathe's gym.

I would say the majority of road trippers travel by air, myself included. Air travel is kind of hit or miss right now, what with all the cancelled flights and airline problems. But somehow I've managed to make it to and from 2 road trips without much incident. Here's to hoping I can do it a 3rd time! ;)

Allison,

Exactly what mess occured from registering more than one person for the roadtrip? Since I registered for myself and another person, I recall SNM stating that they would accept all the registered people up to invoice #105.

There might have been some confusion until SNM responded about it shortly after the registration had closed.

BTW, I wasn't the only person who registered more than one person. As I recall, there were quite a few others, who don't post on these forums, that also registered more than one person on their invoice. Apparently, there wasn't many who realized this option or wanted an option to change the number of registrations on one invoice since enough people dropped out before the roadtrip thereby opening their spots to those on the waitlist.

And for the record, I don't feel guilty about taking someone's spot because I had invoice #2 or #3. It was one of the first ones. I know I would have had plenty of time to go back and register my girlfriend before it sold out.

just saying...

Wendy

Wendy,
I never once mentioned your name. I'm sorry you're so upset by my mentioning that incident. I do specifically remember the problem with having people register more than one person on one registration form and SNM had to accept those people and those who were on the waitlist were bumped back.

Understood. Thank you Everyone!

BTW Wendy: Road Trip Announcement today stated with last years issues with registration we can only register 1 person Allison was just letting me know because this would be my first experience. I did not take this as being rude just informing ME.

Hi Beth. I attended the Road Trip last year and had a great time. I flew in from AZ and rented a car. The Road trip Coordinators supplied us with excellent driving directions from the Philadelphia airport to the hotels and Cathe's gym.

One word of advice is register early. The last road trip sold out in 3 minutes.:)

Jacque

Beth,

I understood she was only helping you and not directing any comments towards me.

I hope you are able to attend! It's a blast of a workout, workout, workout, etc... If you plan on attending, get ready for Cathe to Bring It On!!! I'll be sitting on the beach thinking about ya'll running, jumping, kicking, and having a great time!:)

Wendy

What airport would you fly into? Also, how much is the hotel? If you use the service to and from the airport, do you need any additional transportation other than what is provided by Cathe? I see where, with a $249 fee, room cost, transportation service, and airfare, this could be quite an expensive trip but I REALLY want to go.

Kim

Kim,

We will post details regarding your questions (hotel costs, transportation services, packing tips, etc) in a future post.

I was invoice #105 last year and yes SNM honored their word about taking people through invoice 105. There were even some alternates that got to go who were invoice higher, so it all worked out.

Depending where you're coming from, the closest airports are Philadelphia Int'l and Atlantic City.

Its looking like we won't have the finances this year either I will know by next Thursday! But hubby might have to go to Florida to work so maybe I could be on a beach too. I would love to move out of Michigan.
