I don't post often but we used to chat about shoes on another forum checkin....I am in absolute tears. Your post was so moving, heartfelt and evocative. Your love for her is beautiful. Hopefully when my time comes my children will feel for me as you do for our very special mother. Your mother was truly a lovely lady to raise children such as yourself. How lucky your father, you and your siblings were. May the Lord send his angels to minister to your hearts during this time of immense loss. Sending you hugs from San Diego.

I'm soo sorry. My dad passed away in October and it is soo hard. He was sick and I didn't want him to suffer and I thought I was ready for him to go. Then, when he did, for some reason it hit me all over again. I think those first days are numbing then after that it seems to sink in and I don't know if it ever gets easier but you are obviously comforted by the fact that she went peacefully and that you could be there and let her know everything would be alright. I'm so glad her passing was a blessed and peaceful experience. God Bless you and your family. Hugs.

So sorry for your loss Janie. Your post is so touching and such a beautiful tribute to your Mom and the love she had for each of her children and in turn, the love you all had for her.

When my mother-in-law was taking her last breath, we too said the the Lord's prayer. She was surounded by all her kids.

How blessed you are to have wonderful memories and such a wonderful family:)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know your pain and understand how much you miss your mom. But find comfort in the fact that she knew yall loved her. It's so nice that yall were able to be with her. And don't you know you're Daddy is an angel in her eyes. He obviously loved her and took care of her to the very last second. Hug your daddy and thank him for taking such good care of her. She was lucky to have him. And I imagine you are too.

Janie - what a final blessing your mom gave you - to be with your family in love and laughter, and to be with her in her final moments, to send her on to heaven in a bundle of warmth and love. My heart goes out to you, and you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
