Resistance Bands suggestions please

Help...I'm so confused on what type of resistance bands to purchase & where. The ones I had are too short, I tried to use them on High Step Challenge and almost killed myself. Not to mention the DVD says to use medium-tension bands. I really loved the workout but have had to substitue dumbels or use the High Step Training DVD instead do Leg & Glutes from FitTv, I have my favorites on DVR. Not only are these great for the muscle but the cardio benefit is outstanding. My friends all want to know who my trainer is or where I workout. No one can believe that I have the discipline to workout at home, I love it, Cathe is the best thing I've ever found. I had lost 80 lbs on my own using Self Magazine monthly challenge & proper eating, but was still lacking the definition. I had gone from a size 16-18 to size 2, I was a size 0 but I was not health without definition, this has helped me to maintain my perfect weight for almost 3 years through right eating & exercise. I am now studying for my Personal Training Certification which is something that I've wanted to do since I was 20 years old, even at my heavier weight I continued to exercise. Now that I'm 48 yrs, my friends say I look in my 30's. Thank you Cathe.

Congratulations on you success!! I too had the same problem finding the right length of resistance bands, I even went as far as tying two together. I found them at Fitness Wholesale, www.fwonline.com. They have the pre-cut 6' dyna bands that Cathe uses in her DVD's. You can also choose the level of resistance that you prefer. Good Luck!

Thank you

Thank you for your assistance on the bands, I had looked at the website for the Dynabands but wasn't sure, so now I know.

Hi!

I used to use the 6ft Dyna-bands, but them being latex I had to powder them after almost each workout (talk powder all over the place as you must realize!). If I forgot to powder them they'd stick together like glue, and finally snap (missing my face by inches!:D).

I now use latex-free Thera-bands (http://www.fwonline.com/lftbands.htm). Bought them by the foot and cut them at 6ft.

I think that Cathe will also have latex-free bands in her line.

Chris.
