Pyramids and Supersets - do I need these?

I'm just looking for some feedback from this educated crowd. For weights DVDs I have MM, ME, all GS and 4DS, plus I preordered STS. Are the Pyramids and Supersets/Push Pull still worth getting? I've had these in my cart a couple times already but always end up cancelling the order since I'm thinking STS will have everything covered. Any thoughts?

Thanks everyone!

I don't have either of these, so maybe I have no business commenting, but personally, with STS on order, I am not ordering any more strength workouts. That said, I know everyone is going to say pyramids are the best. :)

I've been doing the same thing! I have the ones you mentioned, but not 4DS. I keep hearing how great pyramids are, so I have it in my cart on cathe and amazon, but I too ordered STS, and am not sure if I really need to get Pyramids yet. Then again, I can't really figure when STS is really going to be shipped, so I think I'm pretty close to buying pyramids too.

I do have Supersets with Push Pull, and these are both really good full body circuit style routines, so they are not really like STS. I've been using them at least once a week lately. I'm happy I bought these, I've been doing more of this style workout (SS, PP, ME, MM), and it adds a lot of variety.

The Pyramids to me are especially worth having. I always feel the burn, sweat, work hard, and I love the stability ball work included at the end of each workout. I find it very versatile. You can use it as it for more of an endurance workout or pause and take more breaks to make it more of a strength workout doing only Pyramid Up or Down using heavier weights.

I have not and do not plan on ordering STS so you really may want to wait and see how you feel about purchasing AFTER you recieve STS. It looks like it will have everything you could possibly want or need in a weight lifting system so you may not want to purchase other weight workouts once you have STS. It's really hard to say unless you just really WANT the Pyramid and SS workouts.

FYI, I got my pyramid set by recording them on my DVR from FitTV. While it is not the same as ordering the "real deal" it may be able to get you through until STS comes... whenever that may be :) Check it out and see if they have any scheduled soon... might save you a bit in the short run. Just a thought :D

I have had so many DVD's in and out of my cart that I'm dizzy, so I know what you are going through.

I have both and quite honestly don't use the PP/SS. I love the Pyramids and use them regularly either as a upper body/lower body split or the bonus workout that compiles upper and lower together for a total body workout. It's very versatile and regardless of the STS, which I also ordered, I feel this workout will always be a staple in my workout collection.;)

I agree with others that Pyramid Upper/Lower are definitely worth it. There is not another Cathe workout set like them. They are great burners and the floor work in pyramid lower is EXCELLENT (and by that I mean HARD!) and can be it's own workout.

The Pyramids are a MUST HAVE! SS/PP...not so much. I rarely use that dvd but I use the Pyramids dvd all the time. It's awesome. GET IT! :)

I recorded all of them from FitTV a while ago, and I rarely use SS or PP. Pyramids I liked so much that I bought the DVD, and I still use it at least a couple of times a month. For me PUB is a great stress reliever in addition to being a great workout.

I agree that the Pyramids are worth purchasing. I love PUB! I must confess that I rarely do PLB because I get tired of changing the plates on my barbell  but I do like the floor work. I have SS/PP but but don't reach for it very often.

I would wait until after you've done STS a few times before deciding whether you need the Pyramids or not. I think SS/PP was something of a space filler for the series in which they appeared and would not bother with them considering STS will cover all SS/PP's bases.

PUB/PLB are useful and I use both upper and lower often. However, while the floorwork on PLB is OK, the floorwork section on GS legs is superior: more comprehensive and more creative, I think, so don't get PLB just for the floorwork, that isn't where PLB shines.

I have both, but have yet to try SS/PP. However, I am addicted to PUB. I usually do a different leg workout though b/c while I like PLB, I am not just addicted to it like PUB. My upper body responds so well to it, and I enjoy the workout. Maybe it is b/c it is just so organized/regimented. Not sure what it is, and those words aren't quite right either. I also like that it is DB only so it is easy to set up for.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks so much for your feedback! I sort of had a feeling that Pyramids would be a favorite around here, I guess I was just looking for some confirmation and that extra push to get it already ;)

While I know the smart thing to do would be to wait and see what STS brings, I just don't think I can wait that long.....what if we don't get STS until December (it will be sooner, it must!)? I need a little Cathe fix now....there is nothing like a new dvd or a new fitness toy to play with

BTW do any of you use your weighted vest with PLB?
I did Drill Max last night and threw the vest in for walking lunges, squats, and tricep dips, talk about a nice added burn.

I ordered it!

I'm happy to say I ordered the Pyramids as well as Amy Bento's Slo-Mo Challenge and APX for a little variety :D

Yep! I used with weighted vest with PLB the other day and it was the PERFECT addition to the workout. I also used it for Butts and Gutts and GS Legs. It really makes for an AWESOME lower body w/o!

Try wearing if for the B&G Leg Blast premix....I was almost crying!

I am currently doing Bento Slo-Mo legs with PUB. Love the Slo-Mo legs - this week, I am going to try the upper body of Slo-Mo b/c I haven't done it for so long and can't remember what it is like. What the heck is APX?? Can't wait for my vest!! :D (I think!)

The Pyramids are my favorite. I love PUB because I get DOMS from it every time. PLB makes me sweat like no other video. I also like it because I know how many reps are coming next. It also doesn't strain my lower back like B&G does. With PUB I can always use sections of it to add on to another workout or I can use parts of it when I am short on time.

APX= All Pump Extreme (It's Amy's)

You're gonna LOVE the vest! It's so comfy that I completely forget I'm wearing it. My other vest was so bulky and annoying I couldn't stand it. Cathe's is so comfortable. It's made me love doing LB work even more!

It's All Pump Xtreme. I've read so many good things about Amy Bento here that I just have to give it a try. Plus at $9.99 per DVD they were a steal of a deal! I take it you really enjoy Slo-Mo? I can't wait to try it!:D

I too am LOVING the vest!!
