Good Morning:)
Heather Great job on KPC. When I stopped measuring and weighing myself the weight fell off alot faster, because I wasnt always freaking out about it and I WAS able to focus and enjoy my workouts alot more!!!!
Carolyn I'm so glad you enjoy your job! It lets you get the things done you need to do, such as CATHE!!!
Liann Great job on s&h legs and shoulders! Arm Pit Doms? Cracks me up! LOL But great job on the pull ups! I love your hair by the way!
Lara How are you? HOpe you have a good day today!
My legs are friend from s&h legs and 4DS legs!! Today is 4DS Back and Bi's and abs
Hello Gin, Tess, and Robin:)
Randi

Ok i'm going to start frying my abs when I work them, because they aren't really sore if I just do one ab workoutx( So I ended up doin LIS abs B&G stability ball abs then 4Ds back and bis.
I like to be sore it really feels like i worked my a$$ off the day b/4!!

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

I'm with you Randi, I like to feel sore the next day so I know I actually did something. :) I've heard of several people doubling their ab work and I think I am going to start doing the same. Not too much time left before summer begins!

Heather - How did the cardio go this morning? ;) Did you end up doing Rhythmic Step?

Last night I had a nice little 2 mile run on my treadmill. It's only my 3rd time running on it, so I am working my way up to 5K as my first mini-goal. It's has 6 different programs on it that combine different speeds and inclines. I'm LOVING it so far! I do not dread running on it at all. I crank up the music, point a few fans on me and away I go. The treadmills now a days are so much gentler on the knees. I can actually feel this one give as I run, so it really helps absorb the shock. No workout for me tonight as I'm going to be watching movies and eating pizza with my family over at my parents house. Tomorrow I plan to do S&H Back and Chest and then Sunday I'm hoping to fit in Imax2. Hope you guys have a great weekend!!!

Hey Liann what type of music keeps you moving? I like dance/techno and hip hop. Great job on your treadmill! That's awesome your getting ready for a 5K! I'm doubling up on my abs, we'll see if I notice a difference}(

Randi - I like a little bit of everything. It has to have a strong beat though to keep me going. I like some dance, hip hop and "medium" to hard rock like 3 Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, etc... I'm a well rounded gal. :) The only thing I will NOT listen to is country. ;)

The new pic on the blog is freakin awesome!! Cathe is finally showing off her legs she is solid and shredded!

I love how cut everyone is looking! Jai's arms look great and Lorrayne's abs are AWESOME!

Hello PYGFO Gal Pals,

Thought I'd pop in and say "hello" to everyone. I'm working on 4DS Rotation this month - I follow it like Cathe wrote it in Nov and add some CC & Core work.

I'd also like to invite ya to join in on the CC-PP w/o once a month (last Sat of the month). It's reminiscent of the RT where we all workedout together :+

If you haven't seen the post for Jim MacLaren, please take a minute and send him a cyber hug. He's had a tough year and the good vibes from all of us on this forum is just what the "Cardio Coach" ordered, Ha! (so to speak).

Hello.

Yesterday was a rest day. I hadn't planned on it, but I only got about 3 1/2 hours of sleep Thursday night b/c I was working on my assessments. I did 4DS LIS/HIS cardio Thursday. I am meeting my mom for brunch this morning and then shopping a little. I have to be back in time to fit in a long workout before the basketball games begin.

Heather...Thanks. My kids were much better yesterday (so was DH).

Liann...It looks like we have similar taste in music. I love all of those bands.

Randi...Enjoy your rest day! I need to make a few purchases b/f STS arrives. I definitely need slanted risers (and a new step for them--I have the Reebok step), a weighted vest, and a new set of ankle weights. I am also interested in buying plate mates. We'll see how much of that I can get. I am trying to cut spending a little so I can start buying the baby tons of stuff when we find out the gender.

Cynthia...Hello!! What a great story! It is nice to see you over here!!

Have a great Saturday!

PYGFO Sisters:

This is my Friday update because I got home to late to check-in. It was a good Friday! Yes, I enjoyed my beloved Rhythmic Step. Fun, fun, fun! I would love Cathe to create another dancy step workout like this one. She has other plans, but I can dream!

After praying and pondering, I am taking a vacation from the whole weight loss thing. I am ready to take a break. No planned rotations. No formal diet (other than staying away from food allergy triggers). I am playing with double cardio (morning and night) and enjoying whatever workouts suit my fancy each day. Just for fun! No pressure to lose weight! No focus on the scale! I am loving this! Fitness is about freedom, not a size! I will likely enjoy a few circuit training workouts and lower body workouts too just because I love them.

As of Friday morning, it has been 4 years and 9 months ago I started my fitness journey (also on a Friday morning). It is time for a new focus for a season. I am inspired to clear clutter from my closets and establish peace and order in my home. I need a few weeks or months of planned maintenance with my weight so I can focus on renewing my mind and transforming my home into a sanctuary for my soul. I am craving free time and me time to rest, relax, read books, journey through Bible studies, and enjoy living in the moment. I want to be fresh and focused when STS arrives, and I believe this extended holiday will be good for me in more ways than one.

I took the batteries out of my scale Friday morning and packed it in the closet. I had to weigh more often than I like in March while I was doing the food allergy challenge to see how my body reacted. I am free to return to monthly weigh-ins. Yippee!

I went to the club after work and jogged in the pool. My workout partner has given up on our 40 days of fun and freedom challenge already. I think she quit before she started because she never met me at the club for any of our workouts this week. Oh well. I am having fun and hope she will be inspired to join me. I am very concerned about her health. She had weight loss surgery a few years ago and is gaining weight at an alarming weight again. She never got close to a healthy weight after the surgery. I met her and her sister at Books-a-Million last night, and her sister is in an even more desperate situation. I am taking a leap of faith and trusting that I can maintain my weight without focusing on the scale and food. Yes, I can! As long as I eat and sleep to bless my body and exercise as an act of worship, I will reap the rewards of a healthy lifestyle.

I am eating more intuitively too. I was craving something sweet last night, and I enjoyed a pumpkin muffie from Panera Bread. I savored every bite and was very satisfied. There is no need to eat a big muffin. The muffie top is the best part!

I bought Peter Walsh’s new book tonight called Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat? I enjoyed his writing style when I read It’s All Too Much last year and was inspired to clear a bunch of clutter out of here. I am hoping his weight loss encouragement will inspire me as well. It is not a diet book or exercise plan. He coaches you through the journey of examining your relationship with your body and food. He also believes that the clutter in your home and the excess baggage on your butt are connected. I do too.

Liann, I always prefer walking at the lake or the zoo! I love the scenery. Treadmills seem to make my feet numb too. Being a Texas girl, I do listen to country music (but not for workout music). ;-)

Randi, I thought of you as soon as I saw the blog picture. Cathe looks amazing. I love that picture with them posing around the squat rack. I hope Cathe includes it in the next calendar or the STS book. The Fitness by Cathe weighted vest looks awesome too. I love the pretty blue, and this style is not bulky and confining like other weighted vests I have seen. It looks more feminine too!

Cynthia, welcome to the check-in. It is good to see you. Jim is in my thoughts and prayers. What a story! I have a slow dial-up connection, so downloadable workouts are not an option for me yet.

Lara, enjoy brunch and have fun shopping.

Blessings,
Heather B.

PYGFO Sisters:

This was a delightful day! I feel so free! I slept later than usual this morning, enjoyed the hi-lo segment of Christi Taylor’s Cardio Collectibles this morning, and relaxed with a book. I want to start the TLTs again soon, but this was calling my name this morning. Christi’s hi-lo is dancy and fun!

During my quiet time this morning, I did some pondering and soul searching. So many decisions I make are based on my weight and size. I asked myself how I would feed my body and exercise if my weight were not an issue. If I woke up at my goal weight tomorrow, how would I treat my body? I would treat my body with more respect and eat nutritious food, but I would also feel free to enjoy treats in moderation without worrying about how every bite would affect my weight. I decided to start living in light of that now. I am eating more naturally or intuitively again (but avoiding food allergy triggers). I am happier and more satisfied with a more natural and less structured way of eating. I am simply enjoying good wholesome food when I am hungry and a few treats on Friday night and/or Saturday. Armed with Erica’s tips on the ingredients to avoid, I believe I can make an intuitive style work for me.

My IRS refund check arrived today. I went to the bank then decided to go to the grocery store and buy something for lunch because I was hungry. I was really craving a sandwich from one of my favorite local shops. I called Rebecca to check in with her, and she told me that she was thinking about me and on her way to this place. I met her over there, and she treated me to lunch. I ordered a plain cheese sandwich on homemade whole wheat bread. I asked them to hold the garlic butter for the first time, and it is just as good without it. Cheese is my favorite food, and the bread is divine. I ate a small sandwich and a few salt and vinegar chips (with sea salt and no MSG) and enjoyed a small glass of sweet tea. Yummy and oh so satisfying. I enjoyed my conversation with Rebecca and savored every bite. I am learning to enjoy the experience of eating again. Eating has become a “chore” lately, and food has been reduced to fuel. I am a Southern girl. Food is one of God’s gifts and life’s pleasures, and I want to enjoy it!

Rebecca thanked me for my constant encouragement and asked me to never give up on her. She wants me to keep calling her until she starts working out again.

I visited the second-hand bookstore after lunch. I bought French Women Don’t Get Fat, Thin for Life, and Eating Thin for Life. I have plenty of inspirational reading material for my journey. I love the idea of eating for pleasure but still choosing the most wholesome and nutritious ingredients possible instead of simply eating processed junk when I am hungry. Intuitively clean with treats in moderation would be a good way to describe this way of eating.

I went to the club tonight and jogged in the pool. Rachel was so excited to see me. She is planning to teach a few more water aerobics classes this month before moving to Nashville with her husband. I will miss her! I am enjoying the pool immensely. The saltwater is so soothing. I love going with the flow and enjoying whatever workout or style of cardio feels good at the moment. I am glad STS will give me that freedom 4 days a week.

We had a family night after the worship service with homemade peach cobbler, strawberry shortcake, and vanilla ice cream. I was free to eat it. I looked at it to see if I wanted a few bites. I was not craving it, so I politely declined. I enjoyed an Amy’s organic bean and cheese burrito and a cup of Kozy Shack tapioca pudding at home instead. Yummy! My beloved grandpa fixed tapioca pudding for me when I was a little girl, and I still fill up with warm fuzzies when I eat it.

I am looking forward to a worship musical in the morning. I need to buy more fresh fruit and veggies after church. I will be free to read and relax after that.

Where are all my PYGFO sisters this weekend? I miss y’all!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Hi PYGFOers.

Heather, I saw Peter Walsh talking about that book on Oprah. I wanted to buy it for my DD. She had put on a lot of weight when she had Greyor, but she's started working out and watching what she eats and has lost about 15 pounds since Christmas. I'm very proud of her. Let me know what you think of the book.

Liann, I'd love to get a treadmill, but I don't have any place to put it and would only use it a couple times a month. It would just be something nice to change things up a bit. So you are planning a trip to WA again this year? We are meeting up with my sister and her husband in Spokane and leaving for Yellowstone the next day. The airline has changed our itinerary about 3 times so far...

Lara, I can't believe you are half way! Have you started preparing a nursery? Any showers yet?

Gin, the vacation was very nice. We love St John. It's very quiet and laid back. Except this year, there were more people than usual. Everyone said it was because we were there Easter week.

Cynthia, happy to see you! Yes, Jim's story is amazing and he has been in my prayers.

Hi to Randi, Carolyn, Tess, Vicki, Laura and anyone else I missed!

Well, my workouts have been hit or miss this last week. I have a case of shingles that started with what I thought was a cold and a small rash last Sunday. I finally got to the doctor on Friday and he gave me some meds that have helped. I did In The Ring last night and hope to do PUB this afternoon. Have a wonderful week.

Happy Sunday!
OH I FORGOT WE ARE SUPPOSE TO START A NEW WEEKS THREAD:)
It's 4:30 am I can't sleep so i'm just going to eat breakfast and workout. Today is 4DS LIS circuit premix. Yesterday I stepped on my guinea pigs cage door that I left open, and the hook that keeps it shut I stepped on it and slice the pad of my foot below my pinky toe. It is going to be really heard to workout I'm really pissed! Heather I'm so proud of you not worring about the scale and just having fun working out! It's such a good feeling!! Good job for not eating all that deliciously bad food. Have a great day at church!
I love that picture of cathe and crew, it should definatly be on next years calender!
Lara hope you hand a good brunch with your mom. I love doing things with my mom like that:) I'm pretty sure about just getting weight plates, the slanted risers i'm not getting because i'll just keep doing it how cathe does in her other videos. maybe in the future I'll get other equiptment:)
Talk to ya'll later
