Good Morning ladies! Busy weekend for me but it was good.
Cathe is going to stream the NJ RT! I know what I will be watching, at least some of it anyway.
Yesterday I cleaned (must have caught the bug from Heartymax) which was a really good thing because we ended up with surprise company; then I went shoe/sandal shopping with a friend, and then Craig and I watched a silly movie called The Gardener (I think that was the name).
Saturday I took a Sports and Conditioning workshop that was sponsored by the American Council on Exercise; it was a 9-hour class. We learned a lot, and we also did some speed and agility drills (fun!).
Let me tell you - my quads are dead to me.
Yesterday I did Yoga Relax, iced them (my quads), took ibuprofen, used a foam roller AND "the stick", and I am STILL feeling them today. Seriously - I feel them even just moving them from one position to another!
They are getting a little better so at least there's that.
Having said that this morning I did my push up challenge - 5 sets: 45 total (sounds so awesome when I say it
) with 60 seconds rest between each set; I had to drop to my knees to push up on the very last rep in the very last set but I made the counts the program wanted me to.
Then I did TriSets premix Back/Biceps/Core. To finish out my hour I did the floor and ball work in Butts and Guts just to hit the glutes which didn't even get touched during the drills yesterday (apparently
).
Natty, A shooting at a party?! OMG! How sad and awful. I don't know what is going on with these people! Is there going to be a service for the town?
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend; the stagette party sounds nice (and so did your meal!). You didn't mention a stripper jumping out of a manicotti noodle but that's okay. I didn't have a stripper at mine, either
4DS Upper body premix sounds great - I think I will do that one possibly on Friday, and then the Lowerbody on Saturday. I hope you don't mind that I copy you
The weighted vest and the 4 mile workout - So Impressive! How does that work with the Leslie workout? Do you listen to her on an mp3/ipod and walk outside or do you walk indoors on a treadmill? I've heard of her; she's top quality from what I hear.
Heartymax, GreatMats.com - Home Sport & Play 7/8-inch kids mats or home exercise room floor.
They were not cheap but really, you can't put a price on safety; they really help absorb the impact and I have less back pain since I switched from the Target and Walmart ones. I also wear better shoes than I used to, honestly, but either way these mats are better.
You probably also saw that I needed to buy a decent-size piece of carpet (from Big Lots) to put on top of the mats when I want to do the Slide & Glide workout or Afterburn (partial carpet); I'm mentioning it anyway just in case. The carpet doesn't slide and it is small enough to fold over and move out of the way.
As for the pushup challenge - I started where I knew I was instead of redoing an initial test. Is that what you did? Thank you for helping me get started! My assignment was successful but I did drop to my knees on the last one (as I mentioned above). 10 - 12 - 7 - 7 - 9 (45!) Good job to you - you blew away the last set; that's amazing, especially after being fatigued already!
I have an Oster blender and haven't had problems with my smoothies but I don't use ice, only frozen fruit; and I did learn that the fruit needs to go in last. Good luck with the Margaritaville - and definitely add some rum
Stacie, I hope you and your son are feeling better; I also hope your town is moving forward from that horrific event.
Toni, I hope your workouts are going well and.
I gotta get for now. Work Hard, ladies!
