PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: JANUARY 2013

I didn't feel well yesterday due to something I ate, then today I feel stuffed up and tired. Its going to rain for the rest of the week and into the next week which makes me feel even worse! :mad: I think maybe a nap will do me good.
 
I caved and bought Supersets!

Today after work I did Xtrain Legs. I made it thru the standing portion, the ball/chair section and then did the bonus barre. I had to a pause a few times and a few exercises I couldnt go as fast as Cathe, legs are definitely my weak area! I really liked this one, and had no knee pain during it. My booty is already feeling the DOMS!!
 
I did Burnsets Bi/Tri + Core premix. I must say again, I'm really enjoying Xtrain so far! I'm thinking this set has potential for some nice results (as long as I keep watching my diet too! Yesterday I flubbed up there but back at today!)

Long day at work, then out to dinner with hubby when I get home. I'm going to try really hard to get the salmon with a side salad!
 
Salad with salmon for dinner, hubby and I also split an appetizer.

good job on dinner! i overslept this morning, good thing Nelson woke me up or I would have been late for work. thinking LIC sounds fun for tomorrow :)
 
Well, well, well...woke up at midnight having to rush to the bathroom...was up all night, on the couch, then I finally got to sleep around 4:30 only to wake up around 5 to the sounds of Pinto (For Phat, Pinto is my dog!) throwing up...so I called in sick to work and am stuck here taking it easy. :( Maybe I can use the time to figure out a plan for my workouts this month since I haven't yet.

My hips are still much better since my massage, the bruising is going away nicely, but I did make a sudden movement this morning and pulled something in my groin area. Good grief, I'm a mess!

Hubby is headed to the east coast tomorrow to be a pallbearer in his Granddad's funeral. I have to work this weekend...short staffed and with one of said staff being very pregnant, and me not feeling well, could be interesting. Plus I get to be a single parent to my doggies, I'm feeling stressed out! I need to get my workouts in order and something figured out for sure. I need to get my eating in order as well. Maybe I'll organize my kitchen today.

Peng, hubby and I have started eating some bread made locally here in KC. It's amazing what a difference between that and the store bought "crap" bread. One thing we noticed, if you don't eat it all soon enough it gets moldy! WOW it's been a long time since I've seen mold on bread. Mmmmmm think of all those mold inhibitors we've been eating. This bread is made with whole grain flour, ancient grains and seeds, honey, yeast, and salt. No chemicals or preservatives and it's wonderful. Anyway, wanted to tell you, I think of you and your bread everytime we eat it, I bet yours is amazing!
 
Andrea, that is one of the reasons I started making my own bread, so I could control what went into it and then into my body. You might try cutting the loaf in slices then putting half in the freezer until you use up the first half.

Slow and lazy day planned for today. I got to sleep late until Hubby texted me and woke me up, so I got up, texted him only to have him not text me back. Oh, well, I needed to get up anyway. Its not raining today but will rain starting tomorrow until next Thursday. sigh. Hubby got tagged to work on Sunday so we will have a short weekend, too.
 
well I sure am slacking! are all of us? hard to be motivated in January!

No workout today, just running around a lot at work. tomorrow will be my last weekend shift for a while, will have three weekends off in a row! very exciting!

watched a ton of basketball and football after work, not interested in the games tomorrow, so will get a workout in after work tomorrow. really.

Oh, I did stretch today. that's something!
 
I never really got around to posting, but slacking I was not! I had to work in the morning, then hubby and I did ALOT of cleaning, finally took the Xmas tree up in the attic. All the snow had finally melted outside so we were finally able to get the outside Xmas lights down from all the trees/bushes. I swept up all the old rock salt from the driveway. We also dusted, vacuumed and put all the living room furniture back in its rightful pre-Xmas place. Then we ordered pizza and watched the Ravens-Broncos game. I really wanted Denver to win, good game though and it was nice to see Ray Lewis continue to extend his career. I was happy with the Packer--Niners outcome either way. Have no interest today in any of the games though. Today we play our rival in basketball, probably wont watch it though as I cant get into basketball much even when it's my team playing!

Needless to say, I had intentions of working out, but it didnt happen yesterday. I'm working today so hope to do a short HIIT workout maybe, I need something less than 30 minutes and then maybe abs. I got SuperCuts in the mail the other day, it looks really good, might try that one sometime this week.
 
hee hee my bad Stacy :) I guess 90% of the time I don't post it's because I'm way busy doing other things! I just missed you guys :p
 
Hehe, after I posted that I thought to myself, man I hope she doesnt think I'm trying to prove something, lol! I wasnt sweating it too much b/c I figured you were cool ;) Ok, Andrea if you workout today then I will too!

Peng, Phat....what's your workout for today?? Can we have "group" workout for Sunday??
 
ha ha you're so productive! I'm just jealous :)

good luck on your game even if you don't watch it...we played Mich earlier this year. yeah, they beat us!

thinking i might do something easy like push pull. gotta ease back into it. ;-)
 
I did the Afterburn Express premix, it's each interval done only 1 time thru, then I did the Core #2 routine from Xtrain. I really like to two core workouts in the series.

I think tomorrow I will try the Xtrain Chest, Back and Shoulders workout.
 
Hubby had to work today so I knitted and cleaned house. Its still raining but the temp have dropped again. I can't seem to make up my mind if I'm hot or cold but the weather can't make up its mind either.

Stacy, I don't workout on Sundays, but maybe I can do the workout you guys pick another day of the week?
 
I'm going to be doing a XTrain/LIS rotation. I love both workout series. I have no particular rotation, loosely following the 90 Day Undulating Xtrain rotation and subbing in some LIS workouts for the cardios. I dont do well with rigid rotations b/c my work schedule is so crazy.
 
oh heck I'm having another tarnished halo day. watching dvds from the LIS series and eating chocolate covered almonds and wine that a coworker supplied me with to celebrate my final weekend shift. athletic training looks like fun :)

things have been more than a bit stressful lately. going to take the rest of the evening to just chill and recalibrate. have a good one everyone!
