PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: JANUARY 2013

Burn Sets will definitely make you feel the burn!! No way could I do all the upper body parts in one session, my last body part I worked would definitely suffer!

We celebrated about Hubby's new job too soon. The company announced last night, without any warning, that they will be moving Corperate to Minnisota this summer, with a final closing date around May. So once again we are facing Hubby being out of work.

Yesterday was a rest day. Thinking about Cardio Legs today.

Patch- So sorry to hear this news. I really hope the economy will get better soon. Will say a prayer for your DH and all affected by this change.

So I did the timesaver for burn sets upper body. Lets just say I don't sweat much with weight work only. Yesterday I did. I think I nice run and stretch is in the works for tonight.

Do any of you have the Cathe yoga tapes? How are they?

Peng, sorry about your hubby's job situation, hope something comes along quickly.

Phat, I dont sweat much but I definitely feel my heart rate going up with Burn Sets, especially this last time with upping my weight. Maybe you could do 25 burpees or 25 jumping jacks in between each set. Just a thought ;)

Andrea, what's up with you for the weekend??

I've got XTrain Legs, abs and 100 RC Calve Raises today.

I just got Intensity and Lower Body Blast in the mail and have previewed them. These look really tough but good. Probably a few moves I'll have to modify in Intensity to save my old knees, but I'm for the challenge.

hi all...
Step Blast this morning, then a dogwalk, then i took what I thought would be progress pictures but they were just pathetic pictures! i don't understand how Cathe can work me so much harder than the FIRM workouts did, but i'm just not seeing results. Frustrating.

Guessing my diet needs some attention. No, not guessing, i know this. When i lost a bunch of weight doing Firms I was also very closely monitoring my food intake. auuugh I was hoping i didn't have to do that! This coming week i am just going to log my intake with no restrictions so I can get a good idea of just how much i'm chowing. should be revealing and good motivation. I have to train a new employee this week and don't know when I'll be able to get lunch each day so I have to eat a good breakfast...so, not a good week to stress myself even more by living on carrots and grapefruit.

Peng, looks like your hubby is out of options with his current company? that's too bad, hope they at least give a severance package. we are all keeping our fingers crossed that he finds a good spot to land in.

Tomorrow it's Supersets. Feeling those jumping lunges already.

Andrea, I feel the same way about dieting, but it's sad but true. If I want the results, I have to eat very clean, even cleaner as I've gotten older. It's tough also being petite. I feel my daily allotted calories according to tables, formulas etc just never leaves me feeling satisfied.

Today I woke up with a mild headache, sore throat that slowly started improving as the day progressed, but my energy level isnt where it normally is. I still did Burn Set Bi's and Tri's and then abs. I was going to follow that with trying out the first section of the new Intensity cardio dvd I got in the mail recently, but my brain and body wasnt up for it today. I'm glad tomorrow is a planned rest day.

I'm going pretty good with my workouts since the first of the year. One week out of the month my work schedule is more hectic than usual, which includes working all weekend. I struggle during that week getting in my workouts as I would like. I really think that I"m going to take that week as my active recovery week and do lighter workout such as Yoga and Turbo Barre. I tend to neglect my stretching and flexibility so I figure a week each month designated to that is better than nothing. I also think that it will help prevent burn out from my planned rotation.

I'll check back later, laundry time.

Its 75* outside and I have the windows open. Unfortunatly, I've got what we call 'Memphis Crude" which basically means my sinus have exploded. I'm coughing, sneezing, and dripping but not running a temp and otherwise feel fine, just tired. It seems I {and everyone else} gets this about this time of year. Its supposed to snow here on Thursday night, my Knit Night! I'm going to be  if I have to miss that!

Supersets this morning, an insane day at work, now home and it's like 70 out so better go for a dog walk! Up at 4 and didn't get lunch until 2! crazy.

Peng it's supposed to snow here Thursday too. Nuts. Hope you feel better soon.

Andrea, sounds like we had similar days. I was up at 4am, no breakfast, lunch at 1pm, didnt get home til 7pm. No workout for me though.

Forgot to add that I also did the 100 RC Hip Thrusts, increased my weight a bit as well.

Where is everyone??

Here...I have nothing to contribute lately I guess :(

Can't wait to get done with this week, training a new employee in a very busy/hectic/completely unpredictable department and for whatever reason I seem to have IBS every night and feel like my intestines are going to explode? WTH??? I'm mostly OK during the day. Sorry if TMI but that's what I'm dealing with! :(

No workout today, just could not do it. Yesterday at work was killer. Snow moving in tonight...I better get at least a short workout in in the morning or I might go postal.

Hang in there, Andrea. Maybe it'll help to know my life sounds just like yours, including the IBS! If I win the lottery I'll send some your way.

...ok I'll message you my checking account number...lol

Up, going to do the step from Step Jump and Pump. Or maybe just some Yoga. hmmmmm... i'm thinking yoga is what i really need.

Did XTrain Ch/Ba/Sh and abs and 100 RC bicep curls.

Looking forward to an active recovery week next week.

oh my, so so stressed from work. My skin looks HORRIBLE and my insides are all in knots...filled with air in between the knots. I asked my hubby to push me down the stairs so I could get out of work tomorrow...lol he wouldn't do it.

Yoga for a bit this morning, going to sleep in as much as possible tomorrow (that's 5:30) and hopefully, very hopefully, the mere fact that it will be Friday on Friday will make me want to do something.

Right now I want to stick a fork in my brain. I'm in soooooo way over my head with this training thing. The girl I'm training is showing NO INITIATIVE to do anything herself, and she needs to be functional by Friday at 3:30 pm, has about 60 body fluid slides to complete by then (should only take about 16 hours) and when I asked her today how that was going to get done she said "magic?"

AAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Andrea, I'm glad your hubby didnt listen ;)

I know how it feels to be totally stressed with work and exhausted to boot. But, maybe a short workout would help de-stress? I've been there, many times, sometimes just the energy to do anything is a challenge. I just found out one of my co-workers is on vacation next week and nobody told me, that means more hours for me, but I'm salaried, so not a good thing, lol! Is there someone you can talk to about this trainee, give them a head's up that you're having some reservations about her aptitude? Are you working this weekend?

Today is my day to sleep in a bit, but the dogs where whining to go out, so much for that. The windy 20 degree weather woke me up quickly. I got Low Impact HiiT in the mail yesterday (along with Yoga Max), think I'll do the HiiT one today before work, it's fairly short. Today is 100 RC Tricep Ext as well. I'm hoping to get into a groove with doing yoga now that I have a Cathe yoga, I'm getting to be such a snob with regard to other instructors.

Peng, how are things on the homefront?

Phat, how are those arms lookin'? ;)
