-------lurker runs out.......

Jen-My dr said at 36 weeks he doesnt recommend any travel and the fact that I am dilated he highly discouraged it. It could be tomorrow or 3 weeks...only time will tell!
Im glad you are feeling better. Do try the gum for heartburn though..it really helps.
For some reason I think Dawn will go first..not sure why???
I'll be happy to share my cell phone number with you guys!

Just made the best soup..dh loved it too! Its a split pea barley soup! The orginal recipe is vegan but I used chicken stock. Yummo! I will post if anyone wants it.

oh BL is on....bbl

Morning Preggos!
Not much in the sleep department last night. I will be napping today! Hope everyone else got some zzz's.

Hey lurker Kate!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Melanie-do you work today? When is your next dr's appt?

Today is studying and a haircut, badly needed haircut!

Hi to everyone! bbs

Good AM ladies. I have an appt today @ 10AM.....so I'll be back sometime later this afternoon with updates.

Yesterday at work I puffed up pretty bad, took my bp and it was 150/92!!!! A couple minutes later it was 145/90. I'm a little concerned about that....hoping it's not toxemia. :(

I'll chat with ya'll later!! Sending positive LABOR VIBES out to you ripe ladies!!!!!

Hi there!! I worked yesterday (24 hr shifts) so just now catching up.

FYI--I forgot who had the sludge--(I hate that when I go to post, I cant see the previous threads, oh well....) Biliary sludge is basically bile which is consists of several components, when imbalanced sludge forms and can sometimes lead to gallstones. Usually not a problem, and is common in pregnancy. In general recommendations are to try watching/limiting and fatty or fried foods or bland diet for a day or so if you are still having pain. However, I dont know if the same is true w/pg folks.

Melanie--I don't have my prenatal RN appt until Monday 21st. After that she sets up Ultrasounds. According to my calculations I will be due sometime in mid May.

OK, off for a nap..
Mel2

Hi everyone,

My next apt is tomorrow. Last week I was 2 centimeters and 80% effaced--come on, can I get a 3!

My mom arrives Sunday. I told her to bring her walking shoes and taste for spicy foods (my DH won't touch anything spicy). I think the baby is lower as I can tell I'm waddling a bit. Oh well.

Had terrible heart burn last night that kept me up for hours. It was my own fault as yesterday's dinner consisted of chips, cookies, an apple. I know, not good, but DH has been working a crazy schedule and went to bed early. I find that working at home all day and then being alone at night tends to make me moody and reach for snacks. Can't wait to get back into shape.

Thanks everyone for sharing information on heartburn and sludge (sorry to hear that) and other discomforts. Good to know we're all in this together. As soon as I felt heartburn, I reached for an apple and some gum and that helped. You guys are awesome!

Have a great day, everyone!
Dawn

Mel2- That was me with the sludge. :) Sounds so nice, doesn't it? Thank you for that. I haven't really been eating high fat food but I have eaten more this pregnancy than I have in 5 or 6 years. I have switched to a blander diet and so far so good. I really appreciate the input because my dr hasn't bothered to call me back yet.

Susan- Ok makes sense about the travel. I'm just bummed for you that you have to miss out on the fun. Oh well, it was the thought that counted!

Melanie- Watch that BP girl! Hope everything is good at your appt! Have fun seeing the girls!

Dawn- Sending a big 3 your way! I have started to try and eat an apple every day now to see if that helps with the heartburn and indigestion feeling.

I went a did a belly cast last night that one of my mom's friends wanted to do as a shower gift for me. It was nice and relaxing and super easy. She's going to paint it to match James's room. I have a pic of from last night so I will post soon but I won't have a completed pic until after my first shower on 10/3.

Have a great day! Have to get back to work so I don't get overwhelmed.

I know I have not been around for a few weeks. It is so exciting seeing how many are getting close.
Since I last posted:
I had my glucose screening. No diabetes. Hooray!
I had my Rhogam shot. So glad that is available.
I keep shoving my boy's limbs back into my belly. He seems to like push against me.
No braxton hicks or anything exciting going on. I have had several people tell me that pregnancy agrees with me.
I started childbirth classes. I think the teacher is a little bit extreme, ex: the only health problems during pregnancy are a result of too little protein, I do not agree. She is very knowledgable about normal pregnancy, though.
I have decided that Tums can be my main source of calcium until the baby gets his head out of my stomach. Anyone else having problems breathing if you do not sit up straight?
I am also an anal planner. I keep making lists of the things I still need for the baby; I have a recovery/workout plan for once the baby is born, and am hoping to get my Christmas shopping finished before the baby is born. I have lists of what to bring to the hospital, and am going crazy trying to tell my mom and MIL when to come.
The brownie recipes look great, thanks for posting. I do not think I have enough oreos left, I will have to buy another bag. ;)

You guys have been chatty!

So how about that poor Tracey lady on Biggest Loser last night? I was psyched that Coach Mo rocked the house for the Purple Team; I was afraid he'd be out without really getting a shot.

Priscilla, DD was born on her due date. She started on her own, and we accelerated the process with pitocin.

Susan, have getting a hair cut! I haven't had one since March. Yikes -- I'm overdue!

Jen, cool about the belly cast! Glad you're feeling a bit better.

Melanie, given your BP scare yesterday, you must be happy to have an appt today. Did you decide to ask for an earlier medical leave?

Melanie2, a 24 hour shift? Given your understanding of sludge, I'm guessing you're a doctor or a nurse :) Hope you enjoyed your nap.

Dawn, 3! 3! 3!

Last night around midnight, the cramping really kicked it up a notch. I didn't sleep much last night, as I was too paranoid. Went to my 39 week appt today. FINALLY dilated! 3 cm. Because the baby hasn't been moving as much and I have had consistent cramping, I was sent to the hospital for monitoring. Everything looks okay, but my OB wants me to come in again tomorrow AM. He's thinking we could get this done tomorrow!!

My friend is opposed to delivery tomorrow or Friday, saying that the planets are not aligned and communication on 9/17 and 9/18 is poor, as Mercury is in retrograde. Hmmmmm....I'm guessing my OB could care less, and I'm guessing the Boy doesn't care either. ;)

yayyyyy Allison!! Im so excited for you!!! Hey, who cares about planets..Boy is ready to come out!!!!

Hi Cee!

Melanie-hope your bp isnt an issue!!! \

Dawn-dilating vibes coming your way!!!!!

Hey Jen-Im bummed about my shower too, but we are having something after Kara gets here so that will be fun too.

Got my haircut. Went to a new girl. She talked my freakin ear off! I have never had a hair cut..a simple haircut last 1.5 hours!!! Plus she had this very thick rubbery cape on me and I felt like I was in a sauna...I was sweating like a pig!!!! Its a good hair cut but too short. We agreed on "shoulder length" but its a few inches ABOVE my shoulders! ok enough about that

I did the 4 combos of Kickmax and walked 20 this morning. My dr encouraged me to keep working out and was saying that is why I have done so well this pregnancy so I made myself work up a good sweat!
Ok gross alert.....a little while ago I after using the potty I wiped and there was a big hunk of something that looked like snot. Mucous plug? I surely dont know. But I also know it could still be weeks even after that comes out!

Cee, nice to hear from you again and that everything is fine for you. I start childbirth classes in a month and I may take breastfeeding classes as well.

Yeah Dawn, let's make it 4 instead of 3 LOL

Susan, that lady sounds like one of my assistance, eevry morning she has to recall everything she did the noght before when I'm reading the post or just checking my emails LOL

Melanie, waiting for good news from you. How did your app. go?

Allison, I wouldn't mind delivering this baby on my due date, I guess I'm dreading what some people say about going for 42 weeks. BTW, who cares about planets, right!!! Ahhhh, I cried like crazy last night watching BL, that lady that lost her family is one of my favorites so far, her drive is incredible after all that she's been thru.

Jen, I find every single excuse to indulge these days. I too feel like I have eaten like for crazy lately

Enjoy the rest of the day

Ohhh, I haven't heard from the dr, so I assume I past the glucose test!

That is a mucous plug alright! Whoo hoo! It is you and Allison off to the races! I am excited for you both.
Sorry I have not been around. We were up north visiting my husband. Then, back home, preschool. We are hopefully entering escrow on this house tonight and making our offer up north as well. Nothing like moving at 32 weeks. Ugh. I have a lot to figure out between now and then. Preschool, OB GYN, pediatrician. So much! And we will move into a house half the size of this one, so we need to get rid of some furniture. Hmmm.
I will try to get all the personals, and am so sorry if I miss any.
Jen- So happy you got out of the night shift. Your doctor sounds like a good person. Hopefully your boss will get a new attitude or realize how crucial you are while you are on maternity!
Allison- I am going to bake all weekend, yummy recipes. Baby should come on the 19th, that is my birthday. Virgos are crazy weird and anal retentive, but good kids (like me of course).
Susan- Have that baby! I am so happy when I hear doctors encourage working out. I get death stares from moms in the neighborhood when I jog by with the stroller. I may be big, but my boobs flop around more than the baby!
Dawn- I loved your inspiring story on cathe.com. You are incredible. And hope that you get some spicy food in before baby!
Priscilla- I think you and I are in the same boat. I am starting to get uncomforatble too. How did the test turn out? Usually no news is good news on the glucose test. I am thinking low insulin thoughts for you. I am starting to have a lot of back pain and am nauseated again. I think it is either stress or baby.
Dragonfly- Glad to hear from you, I cannot breathe either. If I lie on my left side I can breathe. OTherwise, I just kind of gasp.
Wendy- Holy cow, so glad to hear that your dad is on the mend. Hope you are handling the stress okay and get a chance to relax before baby.
Melanie- You lucky woman, not for carrying around 2 people, but for getting to deliver early. How was the doctor today?
Mel2- Glad you are joining us, sorry I have not said hello earlier. I am due mis december, probably earlier, my husband was relocated over 6 hours away and my three year old and I are stayign here till the house sells. Then moving. I am waiting for the apocalypse to complete my trifecta of drama.
Anyone that I forgot, I will reread later and get to you. SO sorry. Miss you all. Happy pushing to Allison, Susan and Dawn, think you might be havign some virgo babies!!!

Hi ladies. I'm back from 27 week exam.

Girls weigh 2lbs 2 oz & 2 lbs 6 oz

My blood pressure is still 150/90
I have pitting edema
I have gained a total of 40 pounds, uterus measuring at 33 weeks
No protein in urine
Platelets same at 65,000 (normal is over 150,000)
Fibronectin level is negative

Doctor would not give me medical leave
Doctor would not give me pain meds
Doctor would not order ultrasound for next visit (as per perinatlogist recommendation)
Doctor would not start steriods to increase platelets

Doctor says if my blood pressure goes "up" that I should contact him immediately & I will be placed on strict bedrest.....but he's not ready to release me from work... "I don't see you going much longer". He wouldn't give me pain meds for work b/c I'd be taking too many of them & that would be bad for babies. He also informed me not to "lie" about my blood pressure to get out of work. It would make better sense to me to "prevent bedrest" by giving this sore woman a medical release rather than pushing her into complete bedrest.:mad::mad:

I'm totally disguisted with this doctor.:mad: I'm prepared to speak with my ob/gyn from St Cloud (where we lived before) and make arrangements to see her.......she's 5 hours away......but when you live out in the middle of nowhere your options are limited. They also have a Level 3 NICU, so if the babies need any help whatsoever, they will be in the best possible place for them......and they won't be transported away from their mommy.

Edited to say: I am sooooooooo happy that the girls are doing good. I know it sounds like I'm whining......but in all reality it is THEIR health that I'm most concerned about. If the doctor can honestly say that the best thing for the girls is for their mom to continue to work 10-hour days without breaks, with a 3 hour commute and high blood pressure (not to mention the discomfort that has lead to tears at least 3 times)......

Holy crap, Melanie. Get to your other doctor asap. You need medical attention. You have no business beign on your feet. When I had BP like that on my last pregnancy, my doctor had me in the hospital immediatly. Steroids are a much. Pain meds are fine. My sister was in the ICU for three weeks same stage of pregnancy when she got meningitis, her kid is fine! Oh Mel, I wish I lived closer. I would watch the kids. Shoot, send them here! The place is empty! I wish you could have a nice darvocet or something. What a moron of a doctor.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

HI Christine! Good to see you! You have a lot going on girl! At least you'll be all moved when baby gets here and the fam will be together!!!!!

Melanie-your dr is pissing me off!!! I don't blame you one bit for changing. Some dr's have no business being dr's! He actually accused you of lieing......now that is sad! Im sorry you had to deal with that today. By the sound of it you do need to be releases from work NOW!

Hi Pricilla-surely you would of heard from the dr by now if you didnt pass your glucose test! I have been starving today. I never ever eat chips.....but just had a bowl of bbq chips with ranch dressing.....and I want more food!

Thanks guys. I really think the doctor thinks I'm lazy & don't want to work or something? Maybe I need to share with him that the last time I was pregnant I worked over 60 hours/week....and lost our baby at 14 weeks? It was really hard for me to ask for medical leave today, I really wouldn't have asked if I didn't feel like I needed it. :(

I made a few phone calls this afternoon....I'll know more tomorrow for my plan of action. I'm going to try to get into my St Cloud ob/gyn next week sometime. I'll have to take vacation time from work b/c I'll need a two consecutive break to travel 5 hours away...

Susan, sounds like a mucus plug to me too :) You do need to monitor any discharge. I believe the concern is that you could leak amniotic fluid. If you're not leaking, you're okay. :) Sorry your hairdresser talked your ear off. 1.5 hours for a cut only is just ridiculous!

Christine, sending you "make it happen" house vibes -- on selling yours and getting the new one! Will DH's company be paying for the move itself? I hope so. You sound so calm and collected.

Melanie, I would NOT want to continue with that doctor. He sounds like a pompous ass with a huge "I'm a doctor so I'm wonderful" complex. Of course your concern is the health of the girls. And their health is dependent upon yours. I hope the one 5 hours away can take you. Are you delivering near your house, or will you have to drive 4 or 5 hours to deliver?

Hi, Cee! Yep, I have a hard time breathing if not sitting up straight. But then I get uncomfortable sitting up straight too. I can't win for losing LOL
