:p Susan......blame it on pregnancy-brain!!!! How's that Art class coming? I had to take an Art Appreciation class. I didn't really care for it much....but it was an easy "A". :D

Quick tip for heartburn; Eat an apple. Oh dear lord! I have had HORRIBLE heartburn from about 330 pm until about 25 min ago (3 1/2 hrs) and nothing was working. I tried Pepcid, Tums, saltines, Sprite, lots of water and NOTHING helped. I literally thought I was dying. I read up on some home rememdies and it mentioned apple cider vinegar, apples, celery, potatoes, etc. So first I grabbed the bottle of the apple cider vinegar and it was like taking the worst shot of your life. Didn't seem to help so I started inhaling an apple and I swear, it was like instant! Needless to say, I am keepin a stash of apples with me at all times! I hope no one else experiences heartburn like I did today! Ouch!

Happy Monday, ladies!

Dawn, congrats on getting your story "spotlighted." Now you can buy a few more workouts or some Cathe gear :) I want a Cathelete shirt, but know I don't need one so will probably pass.

Jen, awesome that your doc wrote you a note, as your grumpy boss requested! So, when he said if you have six or more contractions, does that mean if you feel 6 or more cramps? I feel silly asking that, but I never really felt contractions last time, until I was already in the hospital and hooked up to the monitors.

Melanie, cute bump :) My mom is coming over tomorrow night, and promises to take my first (last?) belly shots of the whole pregnancy. Nothing like waiting until 39 weeks 2 days to start LOL

Susan, I'm a "putzer" too. Drives DH crazy that I have such a hard time sitting still. Even when I try, I still have to do something else -- go through magazines, menu plan, organize photos. Glad you finished the boring chapter. And awesome job on the Firm workout. One of my fave Firms is the Standing Legs workout; that one WIPES me out!

The carpal tunnel thing in my right hand is getting *really* annoying. I feel for people who have this condition in both hands. I hope it goes away after delivery, like Christine's did during her last pregnancy.

My mom took me and DD out for lunch today, figuring it's our last lunch out for a few weeks. We went to the Cheesecake Factory and I treated myself to the Thai Lettuce Wraps appetizer for my meal. Sadly (sniff sniff) I was too full to eat any cheesecake (okay, maybe that's a good thing ;)).

Hi everyone,

Mel2, Congrats and welcome to the !!

Today was a long day for me, went to the lab to get the 3hr Glucose test, fortunately the nurse was really good and poked me 5 times (one extra time for a collapsed vein) but she was very gentle. Didn't feel that hungry at all until the last hr. Then went to my dr, I am up 6 pounds this week for a total of 28 thus far. I feel like my belly is so big that I can't take a deep breath. Like Jen said on the weight gain. no good, no bad LOL

Allison, those recipes look sinful, too bad that I have to wait for my test result. DH already warned me that he'll throw away any sweets that may be around Hmmmm we'll see

Melanie, you look great! I took some pics yesterday too that I have to post.

Jen, I always keep apples around but have never tried them for heartburn, thanks for the trick

Susan, you reminded me the multiples times that I bought workouts and have to pick up the mail super fast before DH did LOL He'd go "another one... blah blah blah..."

Dawn, I'm off to read your story, Congratulations

Take care and sleep well tonight!

Hi!
Made it through 2 hours of cheer practice! Actually I like chatting with the moms, so its not too bad.
Melanie-Art is going fine. Made 100% on both quizzes so far. Its not fun, but pretty easy! Sociology is not my fav either. Give me science and I am a happy camper.

Jen-I have found the chewing gum helps my heartburn. I read that it helps the secretion of saliva which nuetralizes the acid. I was skeptical, but it really does work! I keep a piece on my bedside table for nightime heartburn.

Pricilla-I used to tell my UPS man I loved him for getting there before 5 when dh got home! DH just rolls his eyes when I get another workout..hes used to though. At least its a healthy habbit, right! WHen do you find out your glucose results??

Allison-ok now I want cheescake!! Anymore cramping??

Wonder where Dawn and Allison are???

Hi everyone. I'm still here! :) 38 weeks

A second yeah for doctor's notes. I got one last week because my commute is about an hour. In all honesty, I probably didn't need it, but my boss said "sure work from home" and thus I'm at the kitchen table with my laptop now, in my pajamas with no commute. :)

I forgot who said she was a planner and not knowing when baby will make her appearance is frustrating. That I understand! My mom is coming Sunday, so now I'm hoping baby will hold out til then. I feel pretty good. Baby was very active last night and even now. I've basically stopped workouts with the exception of some walking (but I hate to go too far from the house because then I always have to pee!). I do know a nurse who wasn't due til October 7 and she had her baby suddenly yesterday. Baby healthy but small. I actually felt a little jealous, but she really worked up until the end and may have overdone it physically. This might have added to an early baby. Word to the wise!

Hope everyone has a great day. And welcome to everyone! I remember joining this list oh 25 weeks ago or so. I had lurked for awhile but I had such bad first trimester blues that I desperately needed some advice. The group welcomed me in and here we are.

Have a great day!
Dawn

Morning!
Dawn-Im so glad you don't have to commute! Sounds like you have a nice boss. Must be nice working in your pj's!
Slept pretty ok last night. My hip ached at one point, but I just propped myself up and was able to go back to sleep, until I had to pee of course! I go to the dr at 1 today. I don't think anything has changed since last week...we'll see. Plan on reading Sociology today..yuck!
Good Morning Tuesday to everyon!

Well I guess the apple only worked for a little while because what I thought was heartburn came back last night. I was having a burning/stabbing pain in my shoulder blades and this overall tightness in my upper stomach (not near baby). I finally called the on call doc who sent me to the ER. Needless to say, 4 hours later after a sonogram on liver, kidney, gallstone and pancreas, urinalysis, and blood work, all they said was I have "sludge" in my gallbladder." But couldn't tell me what that meant. They told me to follow up with my dr. But baby was monitored and everything was perfect with him. I felt really goofy going to the ER but then I realized, this just isn't about me anymore, its also about James. Because normally I would have stayed home and just ridden out the pain. And of course, I didn't have the pain again while at the ER or this morning. Oh well....

Dawn- Oh how I wish I could work in my pjs! PJs are my fav outfit!

Priscilla- Sorry about all the poking....at least she was gentle with you. Can't wait to hear that you passed the test with flying colors!

Allison- Ya know, about the cramp/contraction thing, I did not clarify. I guess if I notice a pattern in an hour, which last week I did not. Maybe I will clarify at next appt. Might be useful information for us all! Ohhh! Cheesecake Factory is my favorite cheesecake! Not really big on the food but definitely will splurge on the cheesecake!

Susan- That's cute how DH is used to the UPS guy delivering your "healthy indulgence!" :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Where are our mommies today??

Jen-that is scary! I would of gone to the ER too...you were right to go! Let us know what your dr says. I wonder what sludge is????

I walked 20 on the TM and I was done!! Everyday it gets less and less of a workout.
I started reading and got sleepy so I took a 20 nap and Im ready to roll now. About to eat lunch and head to the dr. BBL

Scary stuff, Jen. I think you made the right move going to the ER. Hope you're feeling better today.

Still have the cramping. Haven't noticed much movement from the baby the past couple days. Should I be alarmed?!? I'm guessing he just doesn't have much room at this point...? I haven't called the OB, as I didn't want to seem like a crazy pregnant lady

My 39 week appt is tomorrow (I'll be 39 weeks 3 days), so I'm hoping to hear that we're getting ready!!

DD's energy level seems to be increasing, which I'm sure is a combination of my energy level dropping and her excitement building. A 3 year old is just exhausting to me these days!

I read until 1:40AM. My DH's stupid dog woke us up at 6 and I never fell back asleep. I might nap while DD does today (but watch, today will be a day when she refuses, because that would be my luck. :p).

Didn't do much today. 3 loads of laundry, vacuumed the downstairs, mopped the kitchen and mud room. Need to dust our bedroom and the blinds, but can't decide if I feel motivated or not. LOL

Just got back from the dr.
I am dialted 2-3, cervix is soft and baby's head is very low. Dr said "oh it won't be too much longer". So needless to say I about peed on myself! I have to cancel my shower for this coming weekend too...pooey! I hope my friend has enough notice to cancel the cake etc.!

Allison-I think if you can count 10 movments an hour that is good...that is just what I read. You better get busy and dilate. I cant have my baby before you girl!!!

How exciting, Susan!! I was 2 or 3 cm dilated with DD. For about a month. Doc kept telling me I would deliver early. He was teasing me -- she held out until the end.

I'm sorry you can't make it to your shower. Maybe your friend could still have it -- a virtual shower. Your friends can open the gifts, take lots of pics, and send you everything. But it might be more fun to wait until Kara is here, so she can go to the party too :)

Chocolate covered raisins got me some movement from the boy :)

Im thinking I'll still be sitting here in the same boat 3 weeks from now!!! But Im ready just in case. Mmmmm choc raisins!

Is anyone watching Biggest Loser?? It starts tonight YEAHhh

Jen, I would've done the same thing. As first time mom, you don't really know what to expect, so it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope you're feeling better today.

Susan, that's all good news! Sorry that you had to cancel the shower though

Allison, did you go over 40 weeks with your DD?

I haven't heard from the dr yet regarding my results. I may call them on friday if I don't hear from them.

Back to work....

Priscilla- I watch the Biggest Loser! It is so inspiring! I love it!

Susan- Does your dr think you will deliver by this weekend? I would hate that you would miss the shower and then nothing happens! 2-3 cm dilated, how exciting!

Allison- You are almost there! I can't wait! Didn't do much??? I'd say that was quite enough young lady! Take it easy!

Maybe we should take bets on who will deliver first???? That would be fun! Are any of you interested in exchanging cell numbers to text another mommy to be to update us if you are going into labor in the event that you don't have access to the internet? We do it on another forum I am on and I thought it might be fun.

Thanks for the reassuring thoughts. I felt like a goon after going to the ER but at least I know everything is ok. I have felt fine today. I googled "gallbladder sludge" and apparently it is common in pregnant women. I forwarded my paperwork to my dr so he can the results and didn't hear back today.

Allison- I forgot to mention that I have heard that the baby does not have much room to move once he is as big as he is. I agree with Susan that I have heard that at least 10 movements an hour is what the dr's look for.
