Preggo Checkin, Babies getting ready!! Sept 13

God must have thought I needed some encouragement tonight. I had a real nice BM. :D :D

Allison, let us know as soon as you find out anything. I'll be praying, girl!

Susan! Snotty discharge? Sounds like mucous plug. I'd like to see you keep that baby in there little longer.

Cee, sounds like everything is going smooth!

Mel2, you sounds like you work long hours. What do you do?

Christine, any offers on the house? (gorgeous btw)

Waves to all, I better try to get some more sleep!!!

Morning!
Better sleep last night..ahhhhh! I could of slept another hour, but I like to drink my coffee and chat with dh early mornings. I will catch a nap if I need one.

Allison-I'll be rooting for you today!!! Yayyyy babies!

Dawn-you are next girl!!!!

Melanie-glad you got a little relief! I havent had much luck in that department lately!
Do you work today? I agree, Kara needs to ripen a couple more weeks!

I got my new Kelly workouts late yesterday. I also oredered STS Meso1. I like high rep, lower weight workouts so I thought i would try this one. Im looking forward to some fresh, new workouts in a couple months to get back in shape!
Think Im doing MM today. bbl

Morning' everyone!

OK. I always read everyone's messages and talk to you as I go :) , but I haven't been so good at responding in writing. Here goes.

Melanie, I'm so glad to hear the girls are doing so well. I want to punch your doc in the face, but the upside is that he is not worried about the girls.

Allison, we're thinking about you and looking forward to news!

Susan, I keep looking in the comode for that mucous plug (I can only say that to pregnant ladies. Others just wouldn't understand!) Let us know how things progress.

Christine, I loved the image of pregnant jogging. Some things just bounce around! In this 38th week, I've been too wussy to really walk or jog any distance. I'm afraid to be too far away from the restroom. But I do think my pregnancy has fared better than some because I've kept up exercise--maybe not every day as I used to but half the week. Good luck on the house sale.

Dragonfly, I'm really into lists and planning, too. :) I had a countdown to baby list with things on it like wash infant clothes, put together bouncy seat, get insurance paperwork together, interview pediatricians, etc. It made me feel pretty good to cross things off the list. I just wish I knew when baby would come, but I appreciate there's another planner like me out there!

Hi to everyone else I missed. As I say, I read everyone's posts and smile and think happy throughts and welcomes, but I sometimes forget to write down everything I want to say.

As for me, I have a strange report--my thumbs are killing me. My hands look like sausages and my thumbs are twice their original size and tingly. It's like I've been playing video games for days. And last night was a bad night. Not only did I barely sleep, but I had a major emotional breakdown. We have a lot going on and DH is caring for his elderly mom so not home much. I'm usually so strong, but suddenly it was pure waterworks and I was moody and sad. Feel better this morning. Anyway, it must be the hormones.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Doc apt later this morning.

Take care,
Dawn

Dawn, I'm sending you (hugs)(hugs). You're under a great deal of emotional/hormonal stress. You probably needed that cry,...and you'll be better for it! Us pg ladies are entitiled to cry for absolutely no reason at all. Oh.....and after baby comes you might be more emotional too. I'd cry at baby commercials. LOL You need to call your doctor about your swollen hands. I don't want to freak you out, but it could be pre-ecclampsia....especially the sudden swellness.

Susan, you better take it easy with the workouts for a little while, Sweetie. With your menstrual cramps & mucous plug thingie coming out.

I didn't sleep very well last night. I'm really worried about my blood pressure & the babies. I'm going to pharmacy in town to see if my bp cuff is there...so I can monitor it at home. I'm worried that it's going to get really high & I'm going to driving along the road, in the middle of nowhere, with no cellphone service..............or that I'll be at work and all alone & not be able to leave......or I'll be alone & hours away from my doctor when it skyrockets (and noone available to drive me to hospital). Urgh. Praying for some peace!!!! And a lower bp. I don't want ecclampsia. :(

Dawn-Im sorry you had a rough night!! Let us know how your appointment goes today! I know swelling is common in pregnancy, but like Melanie said its also a sign of pre-eclampsia...so for sure call the dr.

Melanie-My workouts are very very modified, I promise! I never lift over 5lb handweights thiese days. If I don't do some sort of movement my body just gets all stiff and achey. Maybe I will just walk on the TM. Yes, please monitor your bp..that is some scary stuff!! I cannot believe your dr is not more alarmed!

Not sure if it was mocous plug or not...but whatever it was I had more this morning. It was the same....clear, whitish hunk!

gotta get Haley up and to school. bbl

Dawn- I find that I am crying more lately too just from sheer exhaustion and feeling overwhelmed. It's good to cry and get it all out. I curl up like a baby and just sob and I feel so much better for it. Big hugs to you! I agree about the sudden swelling too-call your dr just to be sure. It would make us feel better. :)

Melanie- Dawn said it best when she said "I want to punch your dr in the face" That is how I felt too. I was exclaiming some choice names for him while reading your post and DH was asking me what I was talking about. I wonder if seeing your other dr that is farther away is the better option. I understand your fears about having no one to drive you or being far away. I think the BP cuff is a good idea. You've done pregnancy before so it's not like you are overreacting.

Susan- How sweet that you can get up early and talk with your DH. I wish my DH would do that with me. Sometimes I feel like we never get to talk and catch up and I'm wondering how the heck we are going to do that with James here. Sure sounds like the mucous plug! But you're right, it could still be a couple weeks. Kara needs to bake a wee bit longer!

Hey Christine! Thanks for updating us! I think of you and hope things are getting less stressful for you! I hope you can move soon so you will be somewhat settled when baby gets here!

Allison- Can't wait to hear if you are admitted today! Hooray! Maybe our first baby! Sending you lots of easy labor vibes!

Hello to everyone else! I brought my phone to work so I can upload the pic of my belly cast. The lady wants me to come back and do another one so she can take new pics for her website. Also, the dr my mom works with wants to do maternity pics with me and DH and wants some ideas. You ladies have any? I know I want one with DH's hands forming a heart and maybe kissing my belly if he's up for it. (He doesn't seem too thrilled with doing it, he doesn't like his pic taken.) I am going to look at other pics and see what I like but welcome any other ideas from you ladies!

Jen, I dont' want to have to see this doctor ever again.:mad:

A "belly cast"? What is that? I'm picturing wet plaster of paris wrapped around your belly & a mold being made? I was ROFTL thinking about my DH taking pictures with him kissing my belly. LOL It's just not his thing!!! LOL So many woman have beautiful pics of them pg......it is a cherishable time......I'd love to see them. :)

WARNING!!! SERIOUS VENTING BELOW!!!!

Well......I got a plan.

This AM I called my old ob/gyn clinic to make an appt....and of course it's her day off....so she'll call me tomorrow.

So I decided to go to the pharmacy in town and pick up my blood pressure cuff so I can monitor my bp at home. I figured if it was still high, I would go to the clinic here in town (small town general practice doctors).

Meanwhile DH comes home from his AM coffee with his buddies & starts his usual stuff routine to "go fishing". I get really pissed off and tell him that I'm going to get my bp checked & it it's high,...I will go to the hospital & he can figure out where the BEEP I am.:mad: He says, "Oh. Then I better stick around"

I got to pharmacy & pick up the cuff. Noone knows how to check bp's there...so I have attempted to check them myself......it's a manual bulb....I don't know how accurately you can check your own bp? But it was much lower.... 130s/80s. :D :D

So I figure I'll teach DH how to check bp when I get home..........AND HE'S GONE!!! HE WENT FISHING!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT.:mad::mad::mad:

So I call him on his cellphone & repetitively call him "***HOLE" .........which is not like me to talk like that.:eek: But I"m just so FURIOUS.......and I bet THAT can't be good on my bp.:mad:

*sigh* thanks for listening to me.:eek:

Melanie, you have all the right to vent, specially when he lead you to believe that he was going to stick around. I am glad your BP is going down and that the girls have a good weight at this time. I agree with everyone else, that dr has emphaty at all!~!~

Allison, can hardly wait to hear from you! Sending you lots of hugs and prayers your way!

Dawn, also waiting for an update for you, swelling like that seems to be very common at this stage but can prompt a lot of dr to induce labor.

Christine, I am glad to hear from you and that everything is falling in place. Before getting pregnant, I use to imagine myself working out until the last minute and jogging at home, it did not happen for me. I never thought my energy level was going to drop so low during pregnancy but I'm looking forward to working out again. I see your B-day is on Saturday, that's my mom's b-day as well. I wish you have a wonderful day.

Jen, a belly cast sounds like a lot of fun. What are you doind with it? Your husband sounds like mine, he's not up for pics either and he rarely smiles on them!

Susan, no much info to give you regarding the mucous plug, first time mom here. I need to read some more about that for sure. I have noticed that for the past two nights I wake up and my underwear is wet, just a watery discharge, not sticky at all. I've read about leaking amniotic fluid but I'm not sure excatly what it is. If it happens one more,I'll call my dr and ask her. have you previewed the new workouts yet?

I am off to work, check back later

Melanie-dont ya just want to knock men over the head sometimes!!! They just don't get it! Sorry you have had a stressful morning! Great on the bp. I have a digital monitor that I use..Im sure the manuals are more precise but this is easy. So far I have been lucky. The highest mine has been was 106/60...whew! HOpefully yours will stay down now. Is there no other dr's closer than 5 hours away. Driving that far is gonna get old, fast! Does dh go with you to your appts?

Pricilla-no I havent previewed the workouts yet. I think I may do that while nursing a baby! My spare time now is spent studying. So far I have turned in 5 chapters in Sociolgy and made 100% on all.......so I am really getting good at b-sing essay questions:D
I think amniotic fluid is very watery from what I remember with Haley. You might want to call and ask just to be sure.

Made it through MM and Im feeling pretty good! Procastinating reading..so I better get to it. bbl

Hi everyone,

Melanie, I can relate. My DH is a very good man, but sometimes I wish he had been a little more attentive and helpful during this pregnancy. He is dealing with other serious issues, but still. He always tells me he has total trust in me and believes I can handle anything. I'm sure your DH has total faith and trust in you, too--that you'll monitor your BP and do what needs to be done. So he can go off fishing without worry. ;-]

Well, I just got back from the doctor. I'm still 2 centimeters but 80% or so effaced. My doc thinks I will not make it to my due date (no problem!) and the baby will come next week (perfect!). I was told (and can tell) that the baby is pushing down, which is a good thing.

The only bad thing was that I tested positive for Group B streptococcus (GBS), which I understand is common in 10-30% of pregnant women. The doc immediately said not to worry--they'll put me on antibiotics during labor and the chance of it affecting baby is very low. She also said it may just go away on its own. Oh well. There's always something!

Take care everyone! Looks like I may fall in behind Allison and Susan. Hope no one lost any bets with that one. :)

Dawn

Thanks guys.

So far DH has not gone to dr appts b/c they won't allow children in u/s appts & it's a 4 hour drive total----which is torture on the kids----and really not fair to them-----so I've gone myself. I'm pretty independent, and have done much the same with all my pg's....never had a long commute or twins though!

Dawn, it's so awesome that they test for group B strep......b/c it's so easily treated. A dose of antibiotics will completely prevent infection. No worries!! I am getting sooooooooooooo excited for you. ANY MINUTE, GIRLIE!!!! :D :D

I've had at least 2 recommendations for a doctor in Thief River Falls (2.5 hours away) who is high risk ob/gyn specialist. So.......I called them as well. I'm waiting for his nurse to call me back. When DH comes home I'll talk with him about it.

God is good, another bowel movement today. I guess all I needed was a bunch of emotional stress to cause the bowel movements, eh?

Melanie- Three cheers for you! Sometimes we need to yell at our DH's just like we need to cry! If you need him more, then he needs to know it. I hope you figure something out soon with a dr. Yay for another bowel movement! As for the belly cast, she and I rubbed baby oil on my belly and boobs (I did the boob part) :) and then she places Seran Wrap on my belly and then uses the strips that I guess are used for casting and stuff (not really sure) and makes the cast out of it. Only takes about 15 min to dry and then it lifts right off. All I had on me was the baby oil and a few drips from the wet plaster which wiped right off. She warmed the water that she put the strips in so it was very nice and relaxing.

Dawn- Ooh! I am so excited for you too! Please keep updating us!

Priscilla- The lady will paint the belly cast to match James's room and then I want to hang it in there.

Jen-I have always wanted to do a belly cast. Can't wait to see how yours turned out! Since dh and I both are early risers it's easy to get chat time. Don't worry, you and dh will find time together after James gets here. I thought the same thing and while it may not be as often, you can find time alone to catch up.

Dawn-I had my strep b test last week. The nurse was saying how common it is and it didnt sound like a big deal at all! Ok..next week...yippeeee!!!!!

Got a roast in the crock pot and Im trying a new "cornmeal biscuit" recipe for dinner..sounds delish! Thanks lurker kate!!:D

Yew Hew! Allison!??!

Susan, you're such a suzie homemaker with all your cooking!

Jen, definitely have to see pics of belly cast

"Romeo" came home from fishing and is putting the twins cribs together. I guess he figures that he has some penance to do? LOL. When he walked in I said, "Hi ***hole. You sure know how to make a woman feel loved." Then I went to bed for a nap. :D :D Hmmmmmmmm. I wonder how long I can stretch this out? LOL

Well, we're in the midst of a heatwave, but I'm going to go make some chili. ;)

Susan- I'm doing a pork roast tonight and hoping to freeze the leftovers.

Melanie- You are a trip! Good for you! Smart man to get to work right away!

Ok so here is the belly pic cast, its a lil blurry cause its from my cell phone but hopefully she will email me the ones she took of me while it was drying:

Jen, love the cast!!! Are you going to paint it? Will you draw a belly button on it? I've never seen one of those. Looks like alot of fun. ;)

Jen-I love it!! What a great thing to remember your pregnancy!! James will get a kick out of it too when he's older.

Melanie-I do enjoy cooking and trying new recipes! Glad you dh is getting stuff done!! Keep up the good work!
