Prayers to John Travolta and Kelly Preston

I feel horrible for John Travolta and Kelly Preston for losing their 16 yo son. My own DD16 has a huge crush on John Travolta (don't look at me - I never "crushed" on him and he's closer to my age than hers) and she is just devastated. I would think the worst thing that could happen to someone would be to lose a child. I hope I never experience it.

That news really shocked me today. Such a tragedy, and it's soo sad to start the new year with such a devasting loss. My prayers are with them.

ITA I cannot imagine losing a child and it will probably always be my worst fear of all time.

And as mine have gotten older sometimes it seems like it just can't happen, you know, once they get past the SIDS age and haven't been very sick.

Wow what a shocker - and because he hit his head on the bathtub . . .

I had not heard about this until reading this post so I looked up the story - that is such tragic news. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose a child. My heart goes out to them.

I heard that they did lose a child but I didn't know until now how it happened. I lost my niece over 3 years ago and it's one of the worst life experiences. I think about Maddie every day.

Prayers for John Travolta and his family. It is so horrible for anyone to lose a child. Jennifer- I also lost my neice Riah a little over a year ago, and I too think of her every day.

Oh, my, I feel so awful for them. How sad to lose a child... I cannot express it in words. My heart goes out to them.

From what I have seen and read about Travolta and his wife and the way they treated their son, I'm not all together certain they are terribly upset.

The child was autistic but they refused to admit it or assist him with respect to the illness. They weren't very caring or affectionate towards him nor did they ensure he received proper care and nutrition. There was show dedicated to this story and I remember seeing footage that upset me.

Yes they may be saddened about the loss of a child but I'm sure they feel most unburdened.

This is a very tragic and sad story. My prayers go out to their family.

Matiana......I have to say that unless you have "seen" this behavior first-hand (and not from a tabloid show or magazine), then I think your comments are unfair.

I think this is an extremely unfair statement. The tabloids paint ugly, untrue stories about celebrities all the time.
John referred to his son Jett as his "heart" in quite a few interviews.
I can't believe for one second they did not love and care for their child.

To think for 1 second that because you read about a person & watch them thru hollywood/media eyes that you know their heart is just plain wrong in my opinion. I am not bashing you - There are many posts here about celebrities where people make all sorts of judgements...this subject matter however is so much more serious than most....

My hope for you is that you never personally live thru this type of loss and have to say to yourself...I cant believe I ever made those judgements.

EDITED: Cynthia!!!! You know I didnt mean to quote you!!! Hugs!!!

I'm guessing you meant this for someone else, but you quoted me?

Hi,

This is no time to pass jugment or gossip. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

My heart goes out to them as well. I can't imagine the pain I would feel, and everything that I ever did wrong would be running through my head. My prayers will be with them.

I'm really sad to see this kind of gossip over the death of a child. I just don't understand how someone could be so mean spirited. As I said, my DD16 is a huge Travolta fan and everything she has read is very to the contrary. And just FYI - Jett was not Autistic - he had Kawasaki's Disease.

I just wanted to add that it wasn't a tabloid or some entertainment news show, it was a show about autism.

My heart breaks for John and Kelly.

It has been reported John frantically tried to resuscitate his son until the ambulance arrived. They worked on him a long time because John couldn't let go.

John and Kelly went to great lengths to protect both their children from the media so there were a lot of rumors.
