power 90x

I've been looking at the Beachbody website all week, teetering back and forth--at some points talking myself into buying p90x and on other times talking myself out of it. I've been looking at the befores and afters on the photo page, and reading all the "Bring It" propaganda...I'm a sucker too for whoever said that before. I've just recently in the past couple of months acquired all of the Cathe workouts and feel so guilty for even looking at another website not even having done some of the Cathe workouts. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm trying to justify buying the new p90x. I'll probably wait on the next discount offer though. I bought the cardio tape from the power 90 series--even though it was a great workout it just wasn't my style. I've read that the p90x doesn't compare that its so much better.

And is anyone incorporating p90x with Cathe workouts for a rotation?

Beachbody just sent me another 15% off discount to buy P90X or Slim Series.

I am trying the P90X Classic rotation but on one day I throw in a Cathe step workout because I miss it. I am considering using KP&C every other week to keep my Cathe fix up.

Hedy, I don't have P90X (yet... hmm...) but I've read several VF posts from people who are substituting one of Cathe's Chest & Back workouts for the P90X with all the pull-ups and push-ups. I would think it might be pretty simple to sub in some Cathe like that for other body parts too -- or, as you suggested, throw in a little CK or KP&C to sub for the Kenpo.

Listen to me rationalize, will ya???? ;-)

I am waiting to hear that you ordered Kathy. Anyway, if someone is interested I can forward the email I received from Beachbody for the 15% off. My email is [email protected]

The sale is until Sunday the 25th. If you decide to order by phone they will honor the discount if you tell them you received the email.:)

Hi Caren,

I'm trying to follow the eating program. It's very well thought out.
It gives you a full weeks menu for each phase. It gives all the recipes for that menu. It all has a portion control menu for those that want to do their own thing, like it has a list of foods (very helpful) for proteins, dairy, fat, grains etc. for you to choose from It even has cooking options for those that are cooking challenged...easy recipes. Or you can just follow the ratios of:

Phase 1 Days 1-28...... 50p-30c-20f-Fat shredder
Phase 2 Days 29-56..... 40p-40c-20f-Energy Booster
Phase 3 Days 57-90..... 20p-60c-20f-Endurance maximizer

It tells you tells to move on from phase 1 if you don't have enough energy for the workouts. And at least try phase 3 at some point even if you feel good in phase 2. They say phase 2 is the most well rounded.

It helps you calculate what level of eating you are on. Meaning how many calories you'll need. All the menu's are made for these different levels.

They have you eating 5 times a day. I've NEVER been hungry on this at all. In fact I'm eating more than ever it seems. LOL!

I'm probably going to move to phase 2 since I have never quite made it to the %50 protein ratio. LOL! I just can never quite make it.
I log all my info. in the new downloadable Fitday. It's very easy to keep track of all this info. with Fitday. I love how it helps keep track of the Protein, Carb, Fat ratios.

I found the first month's diet to be too low in carbs, so I went to the 2nd month. So far, I've lost 2 1/2 pounds and definitely gained some muscle. I feel much harder since I started and look leaner. (I'm just starting the 2nd week of the 2nd month.)I can't possibly recommend this program any more highly. BTW, I have substituted some Cathe for the P90x - they work really well together.

Wow! That sounds great. Allright - you all have talked me into it! I must have it!

It's funny, I am not that swayed by people on the Power90X website, but when fellow Cathe girls recommend it so highly, I feel like I have to do it!

Right after I decided to buy it, Beachbody sent me the 15% off e-mail, so I figured it must be fate. It's on it's way. I'm excited!

CarenG...

The pull up bar sucks. You keep banging your head. I got one and it was no good. So, this week we got the Power Tower they sell. You can do dips, pull ups, it has push up bars and even a place to lock your feet for sit ups. It was 99.99 on sale. Don't know if you can afford this, but it looks like a better all around deal, especially when you will be quickly gaining strength. I just keep mine in the living room. I don't care if it is an eyesore!:)

Janice

Is the shipping still $50 or so?
Anyone know if there is another place to get the tower cheaper (with cheaper shipping).

Geez, will ya listen to us??? What ELSE can we find to spend our money on?? :) And I'm the worst -- I haven't got P90X and I'm reading about Power Towers!!!

I think we need to start a support group here at Cathe.com similar to the VF Monthly No-Buying Club (Kathryn, help me out here -- what's it called exactly? I know you're a regular over there! ;-))

I've done a lot of research on the internet regarding the tower and even though I have found some places that ship it for free, their prices are about the same as BB (tower plus S&H) or even a bit higher. I keep hoping that BB has another sale on everything and not only the workouts.

I found similar towers at Dunhams and Sports Authority. I haven't caved yet because I am still using my lat pull down but ya never know when it may happen. My DH went to Home Depot and the guy there said it should be easy to make one for under $20. Might let my DH try to before I go out and buy one.

KathyS what's keeping you from this purchase?

:)

Hey Hedy!

In answer to your question, my dear -- well, nothing, now! :) I did it. Took the 15% discount plus a rebate and ran with it. Sometimes I just totally shock myself, ya know? ;-)

And actually, I recruited yet another defector of sorts. DebbieH and I are going to joint-venture ownership of this set and trade the DVD's back and forth for a while -- neither one of us can bring ourselves to eliminate our beloved Cathe from our rotation even briefly, so we're going to concoct our own scientific combination of Cathe and P90X. We figure we'll have plenty of both, huh?? :)

Wonder how long it will take us to cave and get that flippin' tower thingy??

RE: Hey Hedy!

Hi ALL,

Reading this over the past few days is really making me laugh! Watching you all "cave" one by one...Its truly a domino effect! I thought I was the only one that was a "sucker" for new workout stuff, but I'm so happy to see others like me on a true quest for FITNESS!!

Those of you that have been doing P90X for a while...what are your results??? Do you love it???

I haven't caved yet. But I did pull out my credit card out of its hiding place this morning ;-)

Hi Bernajo!

HOney, you're done for. Once that credit card is out of hiding, it's gotta flex its muscles a little bit. :)

There is a regular check-in thread over at VF with lots of folks now on a P90X rotation -- you might wander over there to check out what's being said for a few days (if your card can hold out ;-)). I must say the overall reports so far are just glowing. Betcha didn't want to hear that, did ya? ;-)
