I am doing the firm right now, and i want to include your workouts. i consider myself high intermediate, and would like to do your advanced workouts. do you recomend that i can do your workouts or should i stick with the firm for most of my workouts. I am a little afraid of your workouts
! Thank you for your time.

Hi there,

I hope it's OK if I respond since I know Cathe isn't checking the forums as frequently lately. I just wanted to say to definitely not be afraid of Cathe's workouts!:) They are definitely hard-core, but you can build up to them slowly. Also, Cathe has posted a good beginner/intermediate workout that might be a good place to start:

I know you're an intermediate exerciser, but this might give you a taste of what Cathe's rotations are like. Also, if you'd like more suggestions about which DVD's to buy, you might try posting a question in the DVD portion of the forums. Everyone is really friendly, and I'm sure you'd get lots of help if you let people know what kinds of workouts you're thinking of getting!

Welcome to the forums!:)

hi, thank you for the fast response! i will take a look at the rotaion you sugested. Thank you for the warm welcome and ecouragement.:)

I just want to add that you can modify and work up to nearly anything. I did The FIRM for six months when I switched over because I wasn't getting the results I wanted. I often wonder if I'll ever be at Cathe's level but everything takes time - and the results are worth keeping at it.

Amber-

I think there are quite a few of us here that used The Firm previously. Most of us were fine for a while but then were looking for more.

I happened to see Cathe on FitTV and got hooked very quickly. I like the workouts better but that is purely my own opinion. Quite a bit more versatility and I like the rotations that Cathe created for different types of workouts.

If you have access to FitTV maybe you can try a few to see what you think, but if you can handle the workouts with The Firm then you can most likely transition into Cathe workouts without much problem. Always do what you can and try to progress from there.

If you don't have FitTv access, what about renting from a local rental company or the library?

Best of luck with whatever you choose.

I starting using The Firm workouts 3 years ago and lost 60 lbs in addition to healthy clean eating. I wanted workouts that were more challenging so I checked out Cathe workouts on FitTV. I would record them and try them. The workouts on FitTv are condensed versions of her workouts and give a great overall view of the actual full length workout. I have since bought several of her workouts and I love them! In fact I'm very sore right now from doing Butts and Guts yesterday and Kick, Punch and Crunch and upper body premix from Muscle Endurance today. I also use Drill Max (love it!) and Bootcamp. I plan to buy several more. I could not have done Cathe's workouts if I had not started out with The Firm. So YES, you can absolutley do her workouts! I hope this helps!!

Another ex-firmie here. The Firm helped me start my exercising in the right way. Cathe has just taken it to another level. You'll do fine and you'll love it. Just remember you can always modify and work up to stuff.
