Ok, friends. Here it is. Our first PIF assignment, for the week of 10/25/2010.

This week, send out at least 2 cards, with hand-written notes inside.
Store-bought, hand-made, recycled or generic...whatever your choice.

2 CARDS.
2 HAND-WRITTEN notes.
2 very lucky recipients of your choice.

Your mom, your cousin, a college friend you haven't seen in a few years, a teacher, your SO, your kid(s), a neighbor. 2 people. Jot them a note and send it off in the mail. SNAIL MAIL.........no cheating with email, text or other 'easy out' method! ;)

Send just a hand-written "hello", jot a recipe you think this person might enjoy, include a picture of you with this person, send them a scratch-off ticket, WHATEVER!

HAVE FUN with it.

If you'd like, feel free to share how you completed this assignment.

OK, just reporting back with what I'm doing!!!

I am sending 2 friends hand-made cards (one of my hobbies) and I've included a copy of one of my all-time favorite soup recipes. They're all sealed up and ready to go to the post office!!!

FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sending handwritten notes/cards to two of my good friends telling them how much I appreciate their friendship. To one I'm enclosing a picture of us during one of our escapades this summer, and to the other one I'm enclosing an instant lottery ticket, since she loves to gamble!

I haven't mailed them yet, because I still need to go buy the lotto ticket.

This is fun.:):) Thanks, Gayle, for starting this thread and for the great ideas!!

Love this! I'm sending one to my grandmother and the other to a dear client of mine.

Thanks for sharing! Love the positive energy! :D

Great idea, Gayle! I've actually been sending people at work a "healthy" treat with a post it on it saying something positive or giving them a compliment of some sort. It's really fun because they have no idea who is sending it. ;)

Marcia.

Just finished up my 2 notes. Wow, I had a lot more to say than I thought when I started!! Lots of positive energy from this. Thanks Gayle :D:D

I included some fun pictures from the summer and invites for a get together

Gayle,
What a great idea. I used to always send notes weekly to family & friends. Now, I seem to email or text them.

So, I love this idea and will gladly write out 2 cards with notes. It will make the recipients so happy.

Thanks!! Linda

I sent a card to my sister in law to be someday. Telling her a memory that made me happy.

I also sent a thank you note to my sister for supporting me through a tough meeting.

Can't wait for the next assignment. Love this!

Janie

Okay, Done! This was an easy one, because I write to my brother who is currently in a drug treatment prison. And another friend I have who is also in prison. If anyone values hand written letters, it's prisoners. It's their only connection to the outside, and people who deserve love the least, need it the most, in my opinion.
By the way, my brother is doing really really good. I can't believe the wonderful man of God he's becoming. He's even stopped smoking cigarettes since he's been in prison, making him one of only like, 6 guys that don't smoke. Amazing....

I would just like to share with everyone how proud I am of my son, Jeremiah. He is equipment coach for College hocky team in MN. A friend of his, Chris Garner, who has a blood disease had a bone marrow transplant at Mayo. My son organized an on-line auction. He networked with all the College hocky people he knew, as well as local Lions club and received donations from all over the country. He did a video with Kari (Chris' girlfriend) about Chris' situation. What more could a parent ask then to see their child "pay it forward" in such a selfless way. I am bursting with pride!
