Pentagenarians & Beyond: W|B 9/30

Today I did EB Fusion Bootcamp for 45 minutes and 225 calories burned. My average heart rate was 113 and maximum heart rate was 142.

Deb, please don’t let me scare you away from Start Here workout one. It is great for beginners or recovering from an injury if the knee lifts and other low impact moves don’t irritate your hip. Workout two is more strength training. I have clicked with the Ellen Barrett workouts. They are a good blend of yoga, pilates, dance (barre) and regular aerobics. She emphasizes flexibility, breathing and posture and doesn’t have a lot of barre movements the way that SB does. I decided to do the 7 Day Challenge to see how all of the workouts work together and used them as an active recovery week. I’m glad that I did.

Valerie, we had to share rooms also when traveling for work but I always shared with my adventurous friend that I mentioned yesterday. We we’re a good match. Other times I was willing to pay the difference to have my own room.

Diane Sue, the Coffeyfit Raw Kettlebell and Dumbbell Fusion sounds like something I would like. My husband is easy to cook for these days and we usually eat the same food, but it took years to get this point. He was a picky eater, youngest child and only son, so his family fell all over themselves to give him whatever he wanted to eat. He loves the food that I prepare and always comments on the fact that I can make healthy food that tastes good!

Hello to Lori and Judy.

I made some baked Salmon from my Whole 30 Fast and Easy cookbook last night. It was so good. It was supposed to have asparagus with it, but I did not have any. I bought salmon from the meat counter in Sprouts this time and it was excellent. I cut it into 5 oz pieces and cooked two. I had the second one with a salad for lunch. The rest I poured some of the marinade on and froze in individual pieces to cook later.
I got some of the new Dr Axe Multi Collagen in the beauty+sleep formula. It has some magnesium, apple cider vinagar, ashwagandha, collagen, and purple carrot in it. It also has Organic astaxathin. This is pink and has a lavender flavor. I sampled some and it tasted good. It might be good mixed into a tea. I have been using the Multi Collagen for several months now and was needing to repurchase.

Carolyn, I make some healthier versions of my husbands food and try to purchase grass fed beef for recipes. I will often cook the meats and not put the chopped up veggies and onions into his foods. Like his stew is meat and potatoes . I can work with that by separating it and adding in some other veggies for myself and not putting potatoes in. I use arrowroot or tapioca flour for the thickening. I even slip in a little tomato paste and powdered garlic and onion with some bay leaf.

Deb, Start Here was the workout I got for my SIL. I found out she has used it a little. can't be difficult because she has the knee replacement issues. when my bursitis was active, even really easy things irritated the spot, so if that is the case, you should to skip any moves that hurt. just work around them.

Carolyn the business sales meetings used to be surprises...usually no one knew each other. they didn't even separate smokers and non smokers, if you can imagine that. eventually we got to pick roommates and I roomed with my friend connie. that was fine and actually great fun.

off to do some sort of workout. I often use the hour before dinner prep because it keeps me out of the kitchen and prevents snacking. we thought we were going to ride this morning but weather didn't clear as soon as predicted. did Total Body Metabolic and core 1. I got a little sore from Burn sets so did not push the weights at all.
