Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 12/31

Carolyn, I didn't know they had changed the cases. Mine came in 3 cases. One for each meso cycle. It seems if it is the cases Cathe's should replace them and deal with whoever designed the cases. I am not sure I am happy with the case for Fit Split because you have to remove the top disc to get to the one underneath it. I suppose I could just use my external drive with the downloads if I am doing a whole workout. Also, I have a bit of fear of these cases that have you snap the dvds into place. I had a dvd lose a small chip and crack in the middle putting it in and taking it out. They replaced it for me though.
 
I see Amy Bento Ross has two new rebounding workouts on YouTube. One uses kettlebells and the other is kickboxing and rebounding.
 
diane sue the thin skin areas get treated more sparingly than areas with a lot of flesh. Neither DH or I have had lesions any on our faces. they do a less invasive technique,. MOHS. they take out a tiny layer at a time until border is clear. still best to be on top of it and get it done at first sign of trouble.
I have not had much sun exposure except for face, legs and arms. I use sunscreen always on my face. legs and arms sometimes, but more likely to put on a shirt or pants legs. I don't like sitting on a beach in sun. never do tropical vacations. we get sun while hiking and especially while snow skiing in warm conditions and many times at elevation. Men have problems often with top of head, ears, back of neck mainly due to hair or lack of it. Hats help. and, of course sunscreen. most of us grew up before there were effective sunscreens.

I did a 35 min spin from pedal power.

Yesterday I did the most recent Live workout, "Triple Threat" 52 minutes, 334 calories.

Diane Sue thanks for the link to the toy. I keep forgetting that I can use the Fit Tower to do mountain climbers etc. I don;t understand why the On Demand has delayed the publication of the User's Guide for this long. This has never happened before.

Carolyn, good job on the KB workouts. Is the Gethealthyutv a YouTube site or do you pay for it? Thanks for the info on the January rotation. I will go over and look at that. I remember the STS DVD's coming in 3 cases, one for each type of workout..or meso cycle. Is Cathe Customer service responding to your issue?

Valerie, well a total body workout with wood chopped as a bonus is a good thing! :). The battery in my car was the original, so over 3 years old. I would bet that John's spot is from his youth and surfing. We will need to watch his back carefully, once this is over. I hope they schedule him for regular check ups, like you mentioned.

It is -2 degrees here with a -20 wind chill factor. Our agility class was cancelled, due to the cold....I hope to stop over to see my friend.

Good morning ladies!

Yesterday was a rest day. My legs were still tired from the prvious day’s workout. This morning I am going to do Live Triple Threat. Looks fun.

It is soooo cold here. Right now it is 0 and the wind has been crazy. It hurts!!!

Diane Sue...funny we were just talking about Amy’s rebounding. Thanks for letting me know. Going to check them out today.

Carolyn...my STS set also came in 3 cases. I would reach out to Cathe.com and see what they can do for you. Sounds like there are others with the same problem. This was an expensive set.

Deb...how did you like the Live workout? I will let you know my thoughts. This does seem to be the longest time not to have the guide. I love reading them when I first get them.

Valerie...the poor iguanas. So sad! Funny how the soreness creeps up on you!

Triple Threat was good, however I had to modify more than half of the cardio portion. Lots of new moves ( at least new to me) and even one that Cathe mentioned was from Fit Split.

I really liked the weight sections. :)
 
Today's workout was Build and Burn Cardio Core, 181 calories, average heart rate 135, max 171, 1,999 steps, 27 minutes. I then did Build and Burn Trim and Tone Intervals, 24 minutes, heart rate average 134, max 164, 157 calories, 1,652 steps. Total time was 51 minutes, 338 calories burned 3,651 steps total.

Valerie, I spent a lot of time outside as a teenager in Arizona with no sun protection. It was not a good thing.

Deb, I really think their time is devoted to the on demand and somehow it conflicts with the downloadable user guide. At least that is what it seems from what I have read. They have never resorted to throwing out a rotation to try to appease people that I recall.

Lori, I saved the Amy workouts and may work them in next week with Cathes Fit Split.
 
a lot less sore today... yes those poor iguanas! I've been to Florida more times than I like to remember . never spent that much time in the sun.... too hot & humid. I don't like water sports. at any rate, all of us are at an age where this stuff pops up. DH's sister had melanoma so he was on the skin check list long ago. most of it is from childhood exposure. I took today as a day off. it's been a while so it felt good to not do anything. .

Today is a rest day for me. I had a hair appointment this morning and I ran a couple of errands afterwards. The metro area—the whole state —is really in the grips of football fever. The college football championship is Monday and the Falcons play on Sunday. Every store is featuring game day food samples and specials. I just needed a few items from The Fresh Market and I didn’t stay in there long!

I haven’t contacted Cathe customer service about my STS discs yet, but I plan to do so. It’s a great program and I intend to do it again.

Deb, gethealthyutv has some free content and some only available to subscribers. This is the subscription that I did last year for $8.00 for a year. I renewed and upgraded to gold for another year in November when they had a $13.00 for a full year offer. I was a registered user on the free site for a while before that.

I remember reading that the Fit Split on demand site and the user guide require some of the same files because they are linked somehow. That is one read for the delay. Hopefully it will be ready soon.

Yesterday I did Walk Strong 3 Deep Stretch and Gentle Yoga. I also did one of Jessica's Walk On mixes. Today was a rest day.

Deb-Great job with Triple Threat! That sounded like a good one. I am surprised we haven't gotten the Fit Split User Guide. Hopefully it will be ready by Monday.

Valerie-Thanks for the reminder. I need to schedule my skin screening soon. You are right, we are all at the age where this stuff happens and I spent quite a lot of time in the sun when I was younger.

Diane Sue-I put the Fit Split DVDs in a different case. I don't like the cases that have DVDs overlapping, especially if I am going to be using them regularly.

Lori-It was so cold here yesterday and this morning, but it's supposed to start warming up a little next week. Hope you had a great lunch with your son!

Carolyn-My STS DVDs came in 6 cases too. So far I haven't noticed a problem.
