Peeps are the fruitcake of Easter

When my daughter got her Easter basket from Grampa and Nanni (that's my stepmother), I saw that there were those icky Peeps in there. I said to SM that I hated those things. She said that they were tradition, so she had to put them in. So then a little later, my dd said she hated them. Then my nephews both were trying to pawn them off on me and my sister. (None of the kids heard my comment about hating them, so I didn't influence them).

So I just was in our kitchenette here at the office and noticed that the little package of Peeps that someone put out this morning have not been touched. Can't even give those things away to the office vultures!

I know there's someone here on the forum that likes them...oh yes...it was a "true confession" wasn't it? Sorry, I just don't get the attraction. YUCKY!!!!

I'm the one who "confessed" to liking them (and stale even better)....if you don't want your Peeps you can send them to me!!!
:)
We all have our little idiosyncracies..
By the way, my family makes fun of me every year because of this, they don't get it either but at least it gives them something to tease me about. :):):)

I love Peeps too! I was bummed out when I went to Wal-Mart on Thursday night and they were SOLD-OUT!!!!! I did find them at Giant though. So I've got my peep fix for this Easter season.

If I put them up for auction on eBay, would you bid?:)

Seriously though, I think I may have "accidentally" left them at Dad's house. I don't recall seeing them in dd's basket at home. Maybe the dog got them. He'll eat anything.

I love them peeps also, but I like to let them dry out a little, I don't like them to fresh LOL. but I don't eat them like I used to. I will have like one or two each easter now.

I'm another one who thinks "eh" when I see a Peep. I can live without marshmallow and (gasp!) chocolate, no problem - I've never liked either.

Now Easter JELLY BEANS are another matter entirely...lovely little sugar bombs, I inhale those babies!:p

One of the vultures made the move. There's finally a Peep missing. Gee Lois, I think they'll be pretty stale for you by the next time I'm in the office (Thursday). If they're still here, I'll send them to you.

Great! They should be nice and chewy by the time I get them. yummy.

Thank you for thinking of me!! :)

Toast them over your stove top and then put them in a graham cracker and chocolate bar "sandwich."

(not that I have ever done that.....um....)

:)

I can't find the link now but the Peeps company was selling a tool so that you could make your own!

Peeps, S'mores, Mallow cups, moon pies, Marshmallow Fluff and peanut butter sandwichs aren't those what makes the world go round?

I love stale Peeps. I didn't get them because my kids don't care for them and I have given up biting into things encrusted in pure sugar. I'm a purist anyway. I only want yellow chicks, not pink bunnies. And blue bunnies, what's up with that? It's a Peep, you bite the head off first, right?
P.S. Midnight, I think I can still calim to be a purist because, once they are opened staleness is inevitable, unless you eat them all, which I can't do because that would make me feel like I'd explode.
