ETA: Perhaps Gayle is referring to the chin-ups/pull-ups/push-ups. Modify on those if needed. Your reps will increase as the program progresses.
Not Gayle... P90X is as intense as you push yourself when it comes to the weight work. You are lifting based on what is heavy for you. For the most part, the tempo is based on what you can do within a certain time. In the X, you don't work one body part to total exhaustion. For example, all the bicep exercises aren't one right after another. I've found Kenpo and Legs&Back got more intense as the rotation progressed!!! Plyo was always intense for me. For others, it isn't. Intense cardio isn't the number one priority or focus, especially for the classic rotation. Just my opinion.

Thanks for all your info. I just did a forum search and came up with lots of info. I just want a change something different. The commitment sounds great. I do follow rotations (FitnessFreaks & Cathe's) but just a change of scenery. Plus it has the nutritional plan. Thanks again guys I will be ordering p90x!!!!
