OMG Premixes

I've never done many premixes, but decided to try them to motivate me. So, I pulled out one of my favorite workouts- Butts and Guts. Now, that workout "as is" kills me. After reading some reviews of the Leg Blast premix, I decided that would be my Sunday workout.

Let's just say that I can't feel my legs right now. I truly don't think I've ever done a workout that is that hard. Seriously. I thought the walking lunges and lunge/squat combos would never stop coming. I really liked that this premix used little or no weight. My knees seems to like that better. Plus, these exercises really lean out my legs (the high reps, light/no weight)

If you haven't tried this premix yet, you HAVE to.

Yesterday, I did Drill Max's Cardio and Upper Body premix. I wasn't really impressed with that. I love the cardio in that workout, but I didn't feel like I really worked my upper body (except for my shoulders). I did like that I got some extra lower body focused cardio in with an upper body workout. Guess I just wanted more tricep and bicep exercises.

I may be on my way to becoming addicted to premixes! It's like I get this sick thrill out of trying to guess what will come next when doing a premix.

What are some other OMG premixes?

I love premixes! I have recently found out I have arthritis in my right hip so I have had to moderate my cathe workouts. However, this has been a good thing because with some of her workouts (i.e. Boot Camp the original) I have made up my own circuit workouts using the Mix & Match option. All I can say is WOW!! Today I did my Boot Camp circuit and it just about blew me away---I felt like I had to barf and I am a conditioned athlete!! It was so much fun, though---harder than the workout as is. While I realize I can lift heavier, which I will do later in the week, this was a great circuit workout that blasted all my muscles!!

Ha ha, that is funny! (Well, not so much at the time you are experiencing it though!!) I got Boot Camp and couldn't wait to give it a whirl. I, too, am in good shape and though, yeah, I can do that. I was on the floor pretty much waiting to pass out, my stomach was churning... I was in sad shape and it made me feel gross the rest of the day. By golly, though, I did it. Then I went and ordered a heart rate monitor so that never happened again :) So, I know the feeling and glad I'm not the only one!

Some of my favorite puke-worthy premixes:

Original Boot Camp cardio-only premix
Original Boot Camp cardio + lower body premix
HSTA cardio only premix (*see below for a neat HSTA idea)
LIC blast-only add-on premix (this one is surprisingly monstrous!)
SJP Hi/Lo add-on premix

A Cathe-ite whose name I regrettably can't remember came up with the following HSTA premix, and I'll add to that concept with Original Boot Camp after it:

HSTA warm-up and cardio only premix; THEN
HSTA cardio + lower body premix; THEN
HSTA cardio, lower body AND upper body premix (or is that the body of the workout?)

Following that concept with Original Boot Camp:

Boot Camp warm-up; THEN
Boot Camp cardio only premix; THEN
Boot Camp cardio + lower body premix; THEN
Boot Camp Everything But Core premix; THEN
Boot Camp core only premix

Have fun!

A-Jock, so nice to hear from you! I really love the 2nd Boot Camp workout. Right now, though, with my hip I can't do the cardio only premix--too hard on the bone. I might do some modification to that part, but I like the idea of the rest of it! Have you even done it?

Kristen- Just click on my username and from there either "Send PM to user" or Send Email to User." I can't wait to see what almost had you barfing!

I tried, but the whole thing got messed up. Do you have an email address I can send it to through an attachment. Otherwhise, it won't come through...?

Hi, Kristi! Yes, I did that one once; however, by the time I did it I had done Boot Camp a bit to death and had to put the disc away for awhile so that I wouldn't get totally blase' about it. I have NOT done the HSTA thing I re-printed above - I so wish I remember who here cooked it up!

Sorry your hip is barking at you! Hope you heal up soon!

Thanks A-Jock. Actually, though, my arthritis in my hip will never go away. At age 30---yes 30, I have worn down the cartilage between my hip and femur. Just years of hard exercise and then too much Cathe jumping. I just found out about a week ago, since then I have moderated her workouts---less continuous cardio, BUT I actually find it more challenging and more fun to do circuit workouts. I have two in the works for the Imax2 and Imax 3. So far I am combining Imax 2 with Cardio & Weights (my own mixture) and then I will add in my own leg exercises...so found I am excited!! I can still crank out some devish workouts!! }( }(

Kristi - OUCH!!!!

Have I bleated to you yet about the possibilities of water training for the Cathe-ite? If not, let me know and I'll share some thoughts with you!

Kristen- Just sent you an email :)

I have arthritis in my knees. So, I literally feel your pain regarding arthritis. I'm only 35. I've had it since I was a teen, so I've learned how to live with it- somewhat! I have to really watch the high impact stuff, and as much as I love to run, I just can't do much of that anymore.

Wow! So I was scheduled to do Power Hour today, but, after reading this thread about the B&G Leg Blast, decided to that for legs. OMG was that HARD! When Cathe got to the second set of firewalkers, I literally yelled, "You've GOT to be kidding me!" Hurts so good!}(

I told you so!! My quads and even my butt are so freaking sore today. I really thought my DVD player was skipping because of all the lunge/squat and walking lunges. I felt so strong after finishing it though, like a totally bad a**!

That's so funny -- I thought the same thing -- that my DVD player had to be skipping! All those dang lunges and squats?! Yes, I definitely felt like a tough cookie after finishing it!}( Thanks for recommending it!

I thought it would never end and wondered if my dvd player was having problems because I had to keep pausing it to catch my breath and rest my legs!
