Wish I would have know this before Christmas shopping was done. I have a DD named Kyra and she typed in www.kyra.com to see what would happen (could be dicey I know). But look at this COOL stuff!!! I never even thought to check out this approach. Now I'm kicking myself.

What a cool idea. I did everyone in my family. Found some intesting sites, some boring sites and one that was blocked by sterling, through whom we have our internet connection. I never thought of doing this before.

This is fun. I put in my given name, Trudi, and I found an Italian company that sells stuffed animals!
 
Oh my goodness. I just did my name and it is a pornographic site. How come I couldn't have some nice, decent page like you guys!!! I'm not even going to post the link but if you really want to know you see what my name is and can do it yourself. AHHHH!!!!!
 
If you want some real fun, play with Google and your name. It can be scary to see your own presence on the net

Some other fun with google is to use the "I'm feeling lucky" button, that button sends you to the site with the most relevance to your search. Type in "miserable failure" and hit I'm feeling lucky.

I Googled my name several years ago and it had a link to the page that announced my promotion from US Navy LTJG to full LT!!!

I will have to try this!
 
Lorrie, you have to get her something from that site, no matter how many other gifts you have for her. My co-worker has a daughter named Kira, spelled with an "i", so, unfortunately, I guess the site won't be of any use to him.

I typed in my name, and got a site called "Network Solutions," with other links listed. The first one is this:

okay.......... mine showed up dominatrix lesbianism with Barbies... lol!!! and if you refresh it, it shows you a package of Barbie shoes that are "fun and gay", and if you refresh it again it is a woman chewing her nails off... I am such a freak! :p

I tried to put my boss's name for an idea for a christmas gift and I got a porn site too. Seems that names like Toni or Tammy draw up the wrong sites.

I went to www.sue.com and came up with a page full of links to all sorts of lawyers - divorce, malpractice, etc. Makes sense. :)

Edited to add: If I go to the website for my given name (Suzanne), I get Suzanne Somers' website. I didn't know she joined the ranks of other 1 name celebrities like Cher, Madonna.
