OK, I'm giving up

And now I understand why you called the X workouts your "light days" workouts. :) The program's focus is for building strength, not losing weight, so the cardio is structured accordingly. That said, you can get a GREAT workout from Plyo, once you get used to it. When you go REALLY deep into the moves, the intervals are incredible (I find them harder than Cathe, because there is absolutely NO choreography). The first time I did it though, I thought it was slightly less intense for the reasons you mentioned. I've grown to love it over time though.

Bodymax has a solid 30 min step program in it. It also has about 20 minutes of leg drills that are mostly cardio with short spurts of weighted leg work thrown in. They follow one right after the other. That's basically 50 minutes of solid cardio for you! :) Even if you don't bother to use weights on the leg work so as not to interfere with your normal weight routine, it doesn't matter...You should still get a good work out! }(

If you really want a challenge try the p90x rotation. As m said it really should be done as par of the full rotation - Not just 1 or 2 of his cardios. If you want more of a challenge do doubles!

It's a magnificent rotation. Guaranteed if you go heavy and really push yourself it will be a huge challenge.

A key part of it is following the eating plan. A few of us have found we have been in starvation mode for years and not getting enough protein.

I'm with m this is it for me now and I never thought I'd find something I like better than cathe. Also similar to kickbox when you get it down you work even harder.

Agree with Kathryn just don't throw them out. I'm sure there is a goodwill or some charity that would appreciate it.

Maybe try something totall different for you time not fitness related? Just an idea. I was out of work a few years ago and got involved working with a couple of animal shelters - it was incredibly rewarding. When my youngest graduates next year, I'll be doing some more volunteer work, nothing beats the feeling of giving back. Perhaps you already are doing.

Good luck on your quest!

I find Christi Taylor's workouts to be unbearable.

She is awkward and her moves are spastic.

I am a former dancer and find her workouts impossible.

Her choreography is hideous.

I wonder if she has ever trained as a dancer.

If so, it does not show.

I still like my Firm Classic Collection too!

But they sure got lame after they sold to Goodtimes and Anna developed Fit Prime.

I very stupidly purchased that one series that came with the incline box. Well, the box would not change quickly enough to follow the workout, so I threw it all in the trash.

And that term "Fanny Lifter" makes me sick.

I agree with you and am in the same boat.

*chanting: "Drill Max!", "Drill Max!"*

Even though no one has quite the same intesity and quality of workouts as Cathe's (in my opinion) I do think Mindy Mylrea has some workouts that come pretty close. I do love Interval Express - it still kicks my butt every time. If you haven't tried this one, I would recommend that you try it and see what you think.

Hi Angela,
Thanks for the link to Tracey's workouts. They look great and of course I had to order them all:7 I thought it was nice too that she sent me a personal email after I ordered. What a nice touch :)

Hey, did I write that? I could have written that!

Thanks for the link! You sure are pretty -- and look just so toned and gorgeous.....I wish I could look like you.

I find that Charlene Prickett's "Crazy for Step" is very challenging.

Lots of people are put off by Charlene's personality, but I like her a lot.

I actually got back into fitness in 1983 watching her TV program "It Figures".

Then I began buying Charlene, Jane Fonda, and Kathy Smith videos.

Then I found the Firm which was a huge step up.

And finally I found the best - Cathe Friedrich.

Anyway Charlene's "Crazy for Step" is very challenging when done on an 8 in riser. She and her cast use 10 in and I think that is way too much despite the fact Charlene seems very tall and angular.

Actually, the video uses some of the same music that Cathe uses in "Muscle Endurance"

I agree with Cathe -- anything above 8 in is too stressful on the joints.

Sorry for the long post....
