Ok. I gotta ask. Do you iron your sheets?

I visit another website where this girl was upset that her housekeeper has been remiss in her duty to iron her high thread count sheets. Apparently the fibers don't align properly or something if you don't iron them? Well, besides that she just can't stand wrinkly sheets.

Okay, someone smack me with a pillow and tell me about this logic. I never, ever thought in a million years to care about ironing my sheets. Neat and tightly made, yeah, but ironing? Should I just crawl under my bed sheets and hide now?

NO WAY!!! Of course, I hardly *ever* iron anything. I'll go out and buy something new if something needs ironing and I'm not in the mood:p My grandmother did iron hers. I am definitely picky about how my bed is made, but I guess my thread count is just fine when it comes to not looking wrinkled after being dried!

That girl sounds like she has some serious obessive compulsive issues. How old is this person? The ladies in my grandmother's generation starched and ironed everything!

If someone wanted their sheets' thread aligned, they could pull on the opposite corners at the same time, continually moving towards the corners. This is what I do with cotton type fabrics before cutting out a pattern when sewing. I don't think ironing would get the threads perpendicular.

>Deb, everyone irons their sheets girl- where the heck have
>you been? Iron my sheets? Of course and I iron my panties
>too!!! OK, not really. Had ya going, didn't I?

Hey, apparently my grandma used to iron my grandpa's BOXERS!:7 :7 :7

Um...NO! I so do NOT iron my sheets. Heck...I don't iron much ANYTHING! ROTFLMAO! I allow the dryer to do the ironing for me!;)

Yeah, I'm an "unwrinkle with the dryer" person myself. I mean, I get obsessive about various things, but ironing sheets ain't one of 'em.

Iron? What's that? Is that that thing in my cupboard that look kind of like a boat and it heats up?

Actually, my sister irons her sheets. Says she loves the feel of getting into a bed with freshly ironed sheets. My mom used to iron everything. And my grandmother used to take things out of the dryer slightly damp and IRON THEM DRY.

Who has that kind of time?

Besides, if you're lucky they just get REALLY wrinkly again pretty quickly}(

Shellers, I am truly and utterly shocked at you. Ahem.

Ummmm yeah... I haven't touched an iron since... well... it's been a really long time, I'll tell you that! I definitely don't iron my sheets. And Shelley has a very valid point - how long can they possibly stay wrinkle-free if they're being used properly??? :p

OOOHHH PLEEEZZ!!!:7 Has that woman lost her mind????

I don't even wash my lingere on the delicate cycle all by itself, let alone IRON my sheets!!:7

LOL OMG DEB ARE YOU SERIOUS???? I'm lucky to get out of the house without a sock static-stuck to my shirt or something!

Thanks for the laugh!!!! :7

Are you kidding me? That just makes me hot under the collar!:p I'm sure the woman thought it was a pressing matter, but, really who cares? I hope she can smooth things over with the housekeeper and get past it. What a hangup!! :) :)

ETA No, I don't iron sheets--or anything else.

I think I will be the only one with too much time on my hands. Don't shoot me but I DO iron my sheets.

They do have a high thread-count but I still find them too wrinkled and I can't bring it over me to put a wrinkled sheet, pillow or duvet cover on my bed.

And I do iron almost everything else (no underwear though :+ )

Does shaking them when they come out of the dryer count? My mother was and still is an ironing freak. She used to make us iron everything! I remember we used to fight over the pillow cases because they were an easy rectangle. I hate ironing to this day.

Carola-

Time or not, I'm impressed! :) I learned *how* to iron a really long time ago but have since forgotten. }( On purpose. }(

I am glad you aren't ironing your underwear, though. My DH took about 8 years to get over the fact that I don't even fold my underwear, LOL!
