Debbie,
That is beautiful news! Baby boys are so sweet on their mommies! Tucker certainly has made me so fulfilled in so many ways, I can't imagine him as a girl, even though I did wish him to be a girl...God truly knew what I needed.
Potty Training advice...hmmm, this was absolutely some of the most frustrating experiences for Doug & I. I heard all the tips, tried most of them and frankly none really "worked". What I believe worked the best was being patient with him, not getting upset, understanding that boys do seem to grasp this concept later than girls, and then waiting for the "magic moment" when HE decided it was time.
Also, one thing that Tucker seemed to respond to was the "big boy" panties that had his favorite character on them. So, we would say that Spider Man doesn't want to get wet, so let's try to keep him dry. Tucker also LOVES Lighting McQueen.
I had someone recommend allowing them to wear those big boy panties with the old fashioned plastic training pants on top of them. So when they get wet, they feel it right away. The problem with this is that they get HOT, especially in the summertime.
Also, getting boys to pee outside like their Daddy is a big opportunity to learn! Teaching them to "aim" is always fun too! :+
Bless your family, Debbie! Hopefully there will be many more little sprites to follow!
xoxo, Denise :7
