New Runners June 2010

Hi Everyone!

I swam 120 laps last night. The water was beautiful. I used the 3:00/1:00 ratio. I was dog paddling some of those laps.

This is what I'm doing tonight:
Get in as many rounds as you can in 25 minutes.
10 Swings
10 Squat Thrusts
10 Kettlebell high pulls
10 Kettlebell thrusters
2 driveway runs

Alisha - I have the copper helmet on my shopping list!!

Tricia - Foam rolling is great but it hurt's in a good way!

Lisa - Nope I've never run the Cooper River Bridge 10K but it looks great! I like the concept of running bridges. Brunswick, Georgia has a bridge run that I would like to try as well. I have it on my race calendar for next year.

Hi Cindi!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Alisha - Blue potatoes! I have heard of this, but do they have a different flavor than other potatoes? I would say yummy, but I don't do the parm part! LOL! Hope you enjoyed your workouts today!

Jane - How long does 120 laps take you? I think it would take me all day!

You know, you all could come join me in the MCM 10K in October . . .
Just thinking out loud!

I'm really hoping to hook up for the race in April! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Still working my way through 4DS! I'm really loving these workouts! No time to get bored! I tend to start watching the clock as my longer cardio workouts get going. Not from boredom, but just because I like to know when I'm going to finish and if I'll have time to spare before jumping in the shower after!

Hi ladies! Just wanted to pop in real quick. I ran 3 miles yesterday and did 40 minutes on the bike today. We leave for madison tomorrow and start running Friday morning and finish Saturday afternoon. CRAZY!

So think of me Friday around 9 am and 9 pm which is about when I will be running. Oh and then think of me again Sat morning around the same time. :) Just think...go, go, go Cindi, go! Sunday the team is coming over to my house for massages so I will be back on Monday to give you the report.

I will be thinking Go go go Cindi!!!! and simultaneously living vicariously!

Today is Boxing. I know I have not done it in a while when there is dust on the DVD case.

Hi everybody!

Go Cindy go! Have a great weekend.

Blue potatoes taste like white, they just have a different pigment in them.

I didn't work out yesterday. Don't know why, it just didn't happen.

I went to the chiro this morning. I'm hoping that helps the headaches. Probably need to go again the beginning of next week as well.

Lisa

Hi Everyone!

Run Cindy run!! I will be thinking of you on Friday and Saturday. Can't wait to hear all about it. I love Madison, WI.

I am going to the track tonight to do the following workout. If my knee bothers me during the bleacher runs, I'll just run.

Start at one end of the bleachers
Run up and down the bleachers to the other end.
Exit the bleachers and do 10 broad jumps
Run around the track and repeat for 30 minutes

Tricia ~ The 120 laps took about a hour. I didn't time it exactly but that's what it came out to. I think in the 3 minute work period I could do about 9 or 10 laps.

I'm glad you're enjoying 4DS. It's a great series although I don't do step workouts. I really bought it for the weight workouts.

What's the date on the MCM 10K? I don't know if I can make it this year but maybe next year.

Lisa ~ I hope the chiro appt helps your headaches!

Alisha ~ Throw a punch for me!:eek:

Hope everyone has a great day!

Its a Step Day

I'm planning on yoga at lunch time and step moves this afternoon. I'm not going on a trip after all. My cousins are hosting a gal on chemo right now and I had been sickish last week, so I don't want to make her sick.

Hi everybody!

Alisha

Happy Friday ladies,
I ran three miles with a girlfriend last night. It's been so long since I've run steady state but I did well even though it was hot and I was out of condition for it. Honestly I haven't even run much with CC lately. I need to get back in the running game.

I did BBL Sculpt this morning with a little extra bandwork and then Namaste yoga.

Alisha - Sorry you aren't going on your trip!

Jane - The chiro seemed to help. I guess I need to get back on the bandwagon and keep up with it for a while.

Hi Tricia and Cindi!

Lisa

Hi Gals!

I am taking a rest day today. I'm doing a 5K race in the morning. It was suppose to be 12K but I haven't run much since my IT band came on so I'm only doing the 5K.

Yesterday was a hot day at the track. The heat index was 100 degrees at 6pm. I didn't drink enough water during the day and I could tell. I was really sluggish!

Lisa ~ I'm glad the chiro helped.

Hi to Alisha and Tricia.

Cindi ~ Thinking of you running in your relay!!

Alisha - How was boxing yesterday? I think you're doing the right thing not going since her immune system is weak from the chemo. Have a great weekend!

Lisa - I hope the adjustment helps get rid of the headaches! Now that you're running again, I really need to get my butt out there this weekend! I just hope it doesn't rain.

Jane - How did your workout go yesterday? Good luck on your run tomorrow! The MCM 10K is October 31st. It would be great if you could make it! We will definitely hook up for a race though! I try to get down to Florida once a year to see my mom, so, who knows.

I REALLY want to get a CC run in tomorrow or maybe a bike ride and some tennis, but it all depends on the weather! We're supposed to have rain and DH has a conference call with a classmate on a project that's due soon, so I'll have time to at least run.

Cindi - Sending energy - run, girl, run!

rest day

I could do some sort of workout but I'm doing CTX as produced next week so I thought I had better have at least one day off before I start. Its sunny and pretty out there. I had some kefir and a bit of dark chocolate for breakfast. The eggs are boiling and the chicken breasts are in the oven.

Q. So, what came first the chicken or the egg? A. Dinosaur!

Cindi- I hope that relay goes well!

Jane- I don't think I would be running unless a lion was chasing me, licking his chops, on a 100 deg. day.

Happy weekend everybody!

Hi ladies,
I did CC V4 this morning at the park and now I'm at work. Yeah, I know its Saturday ;). Anywho...

Tricia - Yep, if I can do it you have no excuse! Now get running :D

Cindi - Run girl run!

Jane - Enjoy your race - run girl run!

Alisha - I hate to be the literal party pooper but as a biologist, the obvious answer is the egg as the domestic chicken likely was produced through hybridization and domestication of jungle fowl. Yes, the dinosaurs came before that though :D

Lisa

Hi Alisha - Have fun with CTX next week!

Lisa - I'm surprised! A biologist? Wow! Now you've peaked my curiosity - what do you do? Where do you work? Inquiring minds . . .

Cindi - Stilling sending go, go energy!

Jane - How was your race?

Tricia - technically I'm a horticulturalist and teach horticulture and manage a plant micropropagation lab at a community college but I have a lot of biology in my background. Due to the fact that I work with hybrids and genetic sports (viable mutations) in the plant world every day, I'm a little weird and unfunny when it comes to the chicken/egg conundrum. We nerds can't help ourselves sometimes.

Lisa

Guess that makes us related, as I am a geeky kind of person!

That's so fascinating (in my best Spock impression). I'd love to pick your brain sometime!

One of my favorite hobbies is physics - string theory, quantum mechanics, etc. Second only to astronomy!

So if I eat a chicken I'm doing the green thing, going with the hybrid?

I'm going for a hike in about a half hour. I'm all suited up and just enjoying the sounds of pop music from my college days, I won't tell you exactly what because that would require a confessional.:D
