New Runners June 2010

Hey ladies,
Sorry I've been MIA but just stopping by to see you how you all are doing.

Tricia - Good luck to your husband! Thanks for the Workout Manager info.
Alisha - Enjoy Step Max.
Jane - Your workout sounds brutal as usual! Hope your sister's road rash is healing quickly.
Cindi - Happy vacation!

I didn't workout yesterday or today but I'm making progress at work. Tomorrow is the last day I get paid here but still have lots of things to accomplish. Hope to be done by Thursday. Things will be crazy until I make it to Hatteras this weekend.

Lisa

Alisha - Hope Step Max was all it could be for you today!

Lisa - Glad you could pop in! Don't forget to breathe now and then this week and have a safe drive to Hattaras! Wish I could go with you!

KPC kicked my butt this morning. It's not a tough workout and is usually fun, but the pups had to go out around 2:45 this morning, so, by the time I got back to sleep, 5 a.m. felt like it came only five minutes later! I was tired today! I'm hoping they sleep through tonight! They've done pretty well for several days until this morning, so I can't complain too much!

DH's interview didn't go so well. He didn't have a good feeling about it and thought it was just a filler interview - like they needed so many and they just happened to pick him. Oh, well, c'est la vie! He did apply for 2 more jobs. This is really getting old, ladies. I know I sound like a broken record, but even if he found some cheesy finance job, at least there'd be some income until he started his PhD program, which he'd only give up on if the job was outstanding!

Okay, I'm done! Here's to a brighter day tomorrow! Drill Max in its entirety again tomorrow! Ouch, ouch! Man, Cathe loves to throw that one in the rotations, doesn't she?

Helloes to all!

Hi Everyone,

This is the workout I did tonight. I threw in some jump rope before and after. I did 6 rounds with 2-25lb kettlebells. I did the renegade rows with dumbbells because I can't do them with kettlebells.

Use two bells of the same weight that are manageable when pressed and held in the overhead position. Go through the entire circuit continuously for 20 second intervals non-stop until you complete the entire circuit.
1. Clean and press up the two bells and hold in the overhead position for 20 seconds while walking around.
2. Transition immediately to the rack position while still walking around the room for 20 secons.
3. Farmer's walk for 20 seconds.
4. Put the bells down on their sides about shoulders width apart and do push ups off the bell for 20 seconds.
5. Stand the bells up and do renegade rows for 20 seconds.
6. Stand up with the bells on either side of your feet for suitcase deadlifts.

Alisha ~ Hope you had fun with Step Max. My sister is healing.

Lisa ~ Glad you popped in. Glad you are making progress at work.

Tricia ~ Sorry to hear about the job interview. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he gets a job soon. Have fun with Drill Max tomorrow! That is one hard workout!!

I did Push-Pull this morning, now I'm trying to get plants planted.

Jane - Ugh, that workout sounds brutal!

Tricia - I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. Lack of rest or dehydration can really knock down a workout for me.

Back to the dirt!
Lisa

Jane - I'm with Lisa on this one, that workout does look brutal!

Lisa - Slept well, thanks, and had a lot of energy today for Drill Max! Hope your planting goes well!

DH's unemployment got extended - yay! He's in his last night of class for this session of summer semester. He starts Session B next Wednesday, but only 2 nights a week instead of 4, thank goodness! I'll get to see more of him!

It's Step Blast for me tomorrow. Haven't done this one since I started working out to Cathe DVDs February of last year! Ought to be fun!

Hello to Cindi and Alisha!

Good Evening!

Here is the workout that I did today. It was brutal. The combination of thrusters and squat thrusts was killer.

Ladder Couplets
Ladder down on 1 exercise. Ladder up on the other. Do even numbers
1. kettlebell swings 20 down to 2
Jump Squats 2 up to 20
2. Kettlebell Thrusters 20 down to 2
Squat Thrusters 2 up to 20

Lisa ~ Whenever you finish working in the dirt, you can come and help out in my yard!!

Tricia ~ I'm glad you slept well and that DH's unemployment got extended. Yay!! Have fun with Step Blast tomorrow!!

Waving hi to Cindi and Alisha!

hospitals

Wear me out. Seriously, all I did all day was sit by my mothers side reading dumb magazines while she got pumped full of saline. I did my best to keep her entertained but I'm not good at this bedside manner stuff and I know it was boring. The stuped little stool made my back hurt. And, I couldn't leave. We went in for a routine kind of visit to check up on some symptoms she has been having with vit. D supplements (she is severely deficient.) and they insisted on 5 hours of IV drip. I love my mom so there is no way I was just leaving her there to, as the Dr. suggested, go do something for a few hours and come back. I think that Dr. must be a bit touched in the head.

But, I did pretty good with the eats all things considered. I had a chicken salad for lunch, 1/2 an ice cream bar, and for dinner I had some salad, a piece of salmon and hot tea at Olive Garden. Luckily, they list gluten free options on their menu so I didn't have to take enzymes. Yippee!

I just did an hour of yoga. I will do some Cathe tomorrow. My boss/client/Dad has insisted that I stay home at watch Mom so I won't be doing any video. But, I might get some editing in which is cool too. Yesterday's Cathe burned a whopping 650 calories so I plan to repeat my repeaters tomorrow.:p

Lisa- Do you have any tips on how to keep Deer from eating rose bushes?

Jane- Hi! That looks like a fun workout. When I was a teen I used to take different workouts from Shape and put them together with different sets of reps (this is before I found Cathe by about 15 years.) Unfortunately, at the time I didn't know about compound moves, I could have saved myself some time.

Tricia- I love Step Blast. I find it to be the most challenging but I don't have Imax 3 or the Terminator so those might be more rigorous.

Hi ladies,
I did Providence and BBL Bum Bum Rapido this morning. Feeling it now. Still have lots of things to get done.

Alisha - Hope your mom is doing better. Happy to talk more about deer later. Shoot 'em is my prefered response ;). There are several products (Skidd, etc) based on blood that work. Also a couple based on predator urine. Most need to be reapplied after rain.

Tricia - Congrats on the extension of DH's unemployment. I'm sure that is a huge relief.

Jane - I've got a couple more plants to repot and I'll be right over ;)

Cindi - Hope you are having a great vacation.

Lisa

Happy 1st of July! Oh, wait, the holiday is when? Oops! LOL!

Going to post this here then look for a July thread and do it again there if there is one!

Jane - I know I couldn't have gotten through half of that workout you did yesterday! Whew!

Alisha - That's go to be really hard, trying to keep someone engaged and not bored for 5 hours! A co-worker of mine has been on both ends of treatments like that, with her thyroid cancer and her mother-in-law's treatments. It really does wear a person down! I hope your mom will be doing better after this infusion!

Which workout did you do yesterday, again? 650 cals! Wow! I need to get my cal burner going again! I'm relaxing my eating habits a bit too much these days. Gotta reign it in!

Lisa - I agree, shoot the deer! Take them to the processor and eat them! Yum! I do miss my venison . . .
